  Are Jehovah's Witnesses marriages even legit?

  i ask this because of the circumstances behind why they get married and who they get married by.

  i know people say that they are really in love, they love jehovah, etc, but are these marriages even legit.

  i've talked to older jw's sister who are now widowed, some of them say that they were trapped in a marriages.

  BerryGerry, that is a good point that you bring up about the 3 cord. The other one is that they say "only marry in the Lord". That's Jesus isn't it, not JW's. So as long as your potential mate believes in the Lord Jesus & is working towards his example I don't see what the hell they are banging on about. At the end of the day it's just another controlling method they use.

  I found this article to be very sad & unbelievably funny at the same time. When I clicked on to the thread down the bottom it said "Is any religion deserving of trust?" The next time you meet a JW, why not ask them why they trust their religion?. Examine their teachings & their RECORD. Then decide for YOURSELF if a religion exists that you can trust.

  I thought of us lot here & it made me smile, they are seriously stupid, 50% of JW wouldn't trust the G-reedy B-astards as far as they could throw them.

  WOW! Can they really have written this. Do the parent's who allow their tender aged kid's to get dunked read this do you think. Some of these kid's they are baptising cant even walk to school on their own yet. There should be some sort of law against these fanatics. This constitutes as child abuse in my book, especially when on pg 158, it states.

  Serious wrongdoing on the part of MINOR CHILDREN who are baptised should be reported to the elders. When the elders handle cases of serious sins involving a MINOR, it is preferable that the baptized parents of the young person be present & cooperate with the judicial committee, NOT attempting to shield the erring child from necessary disciplinary action. Just as in dealing with adult offenders, the judicial committee endeavors to reprove & restore the wrongdoer. HOWEVER, if the young person is unrepentant, disfellowshipping action is taken.

  These child abusing bastards should 100% lose their tax exemption rights. How the hell can they possibly use shunning on, as they say in their own words "MINOR CHILDREN". Seriously what is wrong with them are without any kind of intelligence at all. Jesus so full of love & kindness "Let the children come to me" is gonna pat them on the back for this is he? It will be interesting to see if they change this in the new organized book, although having seen how little their regard for children is I doubt it.

  last night we were invited to a get-together with quite a few heavies attendingelders and regular pioneers.

  there was beer and later some music.

  everyone got relaxed and let down their guard and starting talking all kinds of non-theocratic stuff that you only discuss after a few beers.

  there is a certain elder in my wives hall that has seemed to developed a real interest her.

  first he seemed to feel a need to make sure all her blood cards were signed before she gave birth to our child.. he sends her text messages if she misses a meeting saying how much " we missed you last night ".

  he finally sent her a text wondering where her oct hours were , knowing she had some pretty serious tears from child birth and could hardly even walk, much less do field service ".

  clam bake, if he text's her again she needs to send a message back asking him to speak with you, or just ignore the message. But really if you are uncomfortable about it then you need to say so. You could phone him & record the chat so you have some back up if he gets funny about stuff. What ever you choose to do go with your gut feeling bout him & put a stop to it sooner than later. May be he has become a little infatuated with her, sometimes when a man looks at a couple who are happy they can think "if I just have that woman then I will be as happy as her husband"' they don't get that the wife is who she is because of the man she's married to. I could be wrong I don't know his situation, I do know JW can be very jealous of other peoples happiness because their lives in this religion are so negative. Protect your wife. Congrats on your new beautiful baby.

  " (1 pet 2:17) there may be a proper time and place for some actions that would be inappropriate at a christian meeting.

  They don't say a husband & wife cant hold hands, they are just asking them to do so discreetly. I get this, my husband & I are very touchy feely couple, I'm always being hugged & kissed & boy have we had some hassel with sister's who's husbands would rather go door banging then be at home with them. They used to think it was their God given right to hold my husbands hand if they could. It used to drive me insane, & I wasn't having any of it. Then of course there was the situation of having 2 beautiful teenage daughters who were told in no uncertain terms the only man to hold their hands were their papa. Some of the older brothers are creepy, married & not happy to be with their older wife, used it as an excuse to get close to the younger sisters. We had one in the cong 50 years chasing around a beautiful 18 year old sis. It got so bad that the police had to get involved. Nope I'm afraid I'm all for the keep your God dam hands to yourself unless your married to the person or it's your own children. Sorry folk's.
