Young people ask: Higher education in Satans system : Is it for me? (NO!)
YPA: "What should we bear in mind with reguard to choosing an employer in the toilet cleaning industry?"
YPA: " Dressing and grooming: "Dad why do I have to dress like I just stepped out of a Montgomery Wards catalog from 1977?"
YPA: " Why can't I be amish instead? -- at least only have to go to church once a week!"

I play guitar and sing. I've been writing my own songs for about five years or so ( you have plenty of material when you start to question the org and all that heavy stuff). Occasially I play an "open mike nite". It's fun and it's a great outlet.

Assuming your math is correct and all other experts hypthesis is correct. Does this mean that there are more pedophilliacs amongst jw's than in society in general?
I understand that the real problem is how this crap is handled and the prevailing attitude, and not that your typical jw is more or less likely to be a pedophilliac than any other person out there.
My basic q is this: Could you be "focusing" up the wrong tree? Not that your "facts" aren't interesting, but ultimately they (The math adding up to 1/10) amount to opinions. Where as known cases and how they've been handled due to the culture that exists there(JWville), are the only hard facts we have to deal with. Let's lay them bare with facts. Let's fry their butts with unbiased and irrefutable actual events. The real people are there. Let THEM keep telling their true stories. It leaves the water alot less murky.

the ultimate "Question Box" question
by lastcall injuly 2002 question box : " what should we bear in mind when using cellular telephones and electronic pagers?
this in my mind is the ultimate question in the sense that it really shows how rediculessly micro-managed we were in this religion.

July 2002 question box : " What should we bear in mind when using cellular telephones and electronic pagers?"
This in my mind is the ultimate question in the sense that it really shows how rediculessly micro-managed we were in this religion.
Disect this one for a moment. Only amongst JW's do we ever here a question that begins, "What should we bear in mind....". This is because the Society decides how JW's should use their minds in the most mundane aspects of life.
JW's: "Cell phones and pagers! O my god what should we be bearing in mind? We need leadership here man. For the love of God!"
GB: "It is imperative that we provide scriptual council in this matter of cell phone use, the sheep are lost, some are even trying to eat their cell phones."
JW's : "Praise Jah for we now know that talking on the cell phone in the third row during the Wt study is not in accordance with God's will. duhhhhhhhhhhh."
I don't have a scanner but if your really bored and have access, read the answer to this all important question. It's laughable.

Thankyou all very much for all of the great info. My son is so excited just to be having a party, almost as excited as me. He is soooo clueless that he's going to be getting a new system, he will absolutely freak.
I'm gonna go with gamecube, I think it's prolly best for the little man. I'll also include one extra controller and add more later. My daughter's first bday party is next month ( she'll be nine). So I'll be seeking more advice soon. Thanks again.

GB thanks for the link-- very helpful.
Thanks lizard and heathen also. These things I will consider. I myself only play with my son. It will really be for him. What system do you think would be best for a seven year old? Right now I'm thinking Gamecube.

This weekend will be my son's first birthday party ever. He will be seven. We are really over doing it, but we are so excited for him. He has had a N64 for about 3 years. I want to surprise him with a new system. I'm thinking Gamecube. Any advice from you gamers out there? Is SP2 better , X box? I really dunno. I DO know that gamecube is $50 less. But what do YOU think? Please help. Consider age too. Thanks.
