now the shock has subsided, i am wondering if i can forgive and forget the fact she chose not to keep in touch throughout a time in my life which was very stressful.

She gave no reason...it was just like we hadn't chatted in say a week or so...surreal really! If she calls again I will definitely have to ask that question. I feel a tad mad about it really. I have missed and needed her in my life. A lot has happened where I needed support of my lifelong friends. Such is the JW conditional 'love'.

I honestly think the individuals concerned can alway say to others "yeah - I contacted Dozy last year , but he wasn't interested." It's a kind of "covering your ass" statement and justification to themselves that they have made an effort ( albeit a token one. )
This is my gut feeling about her calling. Her brother and his wife are missionaries and are visiting right now...perhaps this motivated her to 'cover her ass' as you said. She made two references to make it clear she is still a JW.
I don't think I need waste any time meeting with her.
I was soooo hoping that she had called to inform me that they had doubts and had finally realized what it was all about.......

No, I don't think she has doubts... She made the point that her hubby was giving a 'talk' that afternoon. ..her brother and his wife are over visiting from Ghana (they are missionaries there).She is heavily surrounded I guess!
Very difficult to get out even if she did have doubts.

i hate to say this, but given my own experience as a jw for almost 3 decades, i am beginning to believe the average jw will continue to look to and be guided by the gb regardless of whether they are right or wrong.. despite all the scandals and negative media attention the watchtower organisation is receiving, life seems to go on as normal in jw land.
it's truly bizarre!!.
clearly, the gbs tactic of mostly hiding away from the media is clearly working for them.
What you say is true. BUT I have had certain success in chatting with the JW's located all over my city! I try not to miss a chance to challenge their beliefs when I HAVE to pass them. THEY are there to challenge peoples faith...so I feel it correct and proper that I challenge their faith too. No one had the guts to challenge my faith when i was a young JW woman...i see it as a kindness on my part to attempt to make them think. I know i have helped one young man leave and get on with his life. i know I have made others think more also.
It is a great opportunity to make them think as they wont run away and have to listen.

We went to school together...Each other’s bridesmaids...she was at my first child's birth. I'm not hurting...just wondering what to think.......

breaking news :charity commission takes watchtower to charity tribunal in britain.
two weeks ago we run an article about the abuse case in moston manchester congregation .it would seem that the coverage from the main local newspaper manchester evening news and two national newspapers has alarmed the charity commission the official regulator for charities in england and wales and now for the first time !
they opened an official investigation on both charities ,the local one ,moston congragation and the central one jehovah's witnesses of britain indicating that in their eyes these two are connected and liable for any misconduct .this is the time for a concentrated campaign from all of us to inform the charity commission why the watchtower should not be a called a charity .the article above has a link for the charity commission complaint page .follow it!.
