it was so good seeing them and the rest at englishman's bbq in july, that when we heard they were planning another, we just had to "throw off every weight" to be there.

Trying not to 'contaminate' others
by SM62 indoes anyone else feel the same that they feel afraid when approached by a particular bro or sis, particularly one you like and who is really nice.
i feel that i may get them into trouble just for talking to me.
i don't want to drop them in it so i always keep the conversation short.

For sure....it hurts. After expressing a few 'independant thoughts' to my BEST FRIEND (no less) she thought and thought, and then decided to tell others to be VERY CAREFUL of me. I think that this is the 'standard advice' which the elders give to anyone enquiring of those that have either left, or are 'very weak' and are on their way out. I may of offended her when I told her that "I'm never coming back" (LOL )
Remember that this is there only way in which they can affect you. They cannot compute in their little brains (the Jw programmed part) anyone who utters a word to question their beliefs.
Do your best to always have a smile on your face when you meet then, and if you get into conversation, try to let them know that 'you have never been better' !

Espresso
by Beans infinally i got myself a espresso machine as i have been wanting one for so long!
i am a coffee freak and this will help me get through the cravings for a quick caffeine fix!
i bought a krups machineas i love fine german products!

My cafetiere has recently been smashed, so good coffee is off the menu for the moment
My real passion is a Starbucks cafe` Latte with Vanilla. When in America, a 'Benny's' coffee....will do just nicely!

I am so glad that I live at this time, and not back then! I do feel sorry for her in that she certainly would have stood more of a chance now - than back then. The legal system has advance in some areas -for sure!

Denial lurking

i'm ashamed to say i have lurked here for a couple of years without having the courage to jump in.. the insight i have found in these posts has done much to heal the broken hearted.. there is no one that can truly understand this particular experience this without living it.. i was raised in the lower mainland of bc., i will share my own experience as courage will alow.. sincere thanks to all of you for helping me to heal and understand that i am not all by myself.

Sounds like he may of talked about you to his foster mom, and I reckon that she would of put him up to it (sigh)
It's better that you rejected it (although dissapointing for him) as his JW foster mom may just get the message, that people don't always agree with JW propaganda.
