Welcome Di !!
I can't believe it....another Brit!
hiya all, i've just recently joined the site and thought i'd introduce myself... i'm diane, 21 from yorkshire, uk.
i stopped going to meetings just after my 18th birthday, i was never baptised but i was brought up as a jehovahs witness from birth.
my mum (tez) and big brother (paulj) are also members, so look out for them too!
Welcome Di !!
I can't believe it....another Brit!
FINALLY, THE BLONDE JOKE TO END ALL BLONDE JOKES!
A blonde woman was speeding down the road in her
little red sports car and was pulled over by a woman police officer who
was also a blonde.
The blonde cop asked to see the blonde driver's license.
She dug through her purse and was getting progressively more agitated.
"What does it look like?" she finally asked.
The policewoman replied, "It's square and it has your picture on it."
The driver finally found a square mirror in her purse, looked at it
and handed it to the policewoman. "Here it is," she said.
The blonde officer looked at the mirror, then handed it back saying,
"Okay, you can go. I didn't realize you were a cop."
i made my first post on jwd and was ignored.. .
i was so afraid.
i was still attending meetings and my husband had no idea i was posting on an apostate site.. much has changed; we are both inactive faders and much happier.. thanks to all of you along the way that shed light on the darkness in my life.. love, blondie

So pleased to hear that there are two 'happy faders' and not just one.........it is so much easier that way!
I do hope that you are enjoying your fourth year anniversary!

whilst sat in my car at some temporary traffic lights recently i saw what looked like a co doing his bit of encouraging a young boy in the f.ministry , he had his hand on this young boys back (kinda distant for a dad) i smelt a co immediately!
lol.
the road was narrow, and then low and behold!
Mike, it's all written in the face - so they say eh? So, so miserable!
"You can tell that they lost - look at their faces!".
Last year we happened to see the assembley at MEN arena empty, believe me people were RUNNING out of the place! I bet they couldn't wait to get home!
I am so that I am no longer part of it. I am even more pleased that my children do not have to endure the cult upbringing that I had.

Didn't you know that, in recent years, it's been turned on its head and now resembles a Kingdom Scowl?
Darn it! I knew there would be 'new light' on this important matter.

walking to the KH utterly miserable, sometimes crying
I do hope those days have pased for you {{{{{{JW 83}}}}}}}
I think most people (if there honest) on there way to ministry or the KH ... felt like crying! LOL

The road was narrow, and then low and behold! A load more Jw?s walked onto the pavement right beside my car!!!!! I knew most of theses people?.gasp!! My daughter was with me, and we happened to be sharing a laugh together, and were feeling very upbeat this particular Saturday morning. I caught the eye of one of the women (elders wife) who knew me, she must of mumbled to her hubby that I was there.....he eyeballed me.....
What sent a chill down my spine about this, is the REALLY MISERABLE FACE of the elder, he eyeballed me for the duration of walking past me. I was feeling so good this morning I really didn't want to pull tongues out at him ....like I felt like doing. So I avoided his cold , miserable glare until just the last moment, when I just SMILED!!
What struck me about this scenario is just how miserable the elder looked.... honestly ...it was a face I shall not forget!! LOL imagine opening your door to THAT on a Saturday morning!! Whatever happened to the KINGDOM SMILE????
No doubt, they will report to other JW?s that I know, that we were laughing at them. Yes, it's true I did battle with laughing at them, but they had a gang of children with them also ....I would never want to laugh at them, just the head-up-his axxse elder and his wife.
.
this is an entry i made into a diary from about 4 12 years ago - 6mths before we finally left.......
"summer hols have come and gone...... not one jw asked to play with my lovely children - sick people" .
Emma,
If you didn't put in "enough" hours, they're children weren't allowed to play with yours. Sick, absolutely.
Yes, Emma it is sick ....actually I think that my diary entry was a year earlier, so we really endured another year of it!! SIGH
Swiftbreeze,
the last time i went to the KH no one even spoke, now these were people that had been in my home on a monthly basis if not weekly and ate dinner went on vacations etc...and i'm not DF or DA.
{{{{{{{Swift}}}}}} Yes it is 'beyond sick' as you say.
Charisma,
no one ever bothered to see why I stopped attending meetings..
My 'best friend' never asked me 'What can we do to help you???......now THAT would have been nice!!
Loubelle
What I didn't do for people - I enjoyed sharing everything I had with my "friends". Went on vacation with some of them
.
Me too! I feel used now when I look back...but I try not to anymore.
Benito,
What a great lesson you've learnt! I believe that, that is the basis for being content - good for you!
A thing I got when I left the JWs and that assures me that I made the right decision is that I learned to love myself
Olrade
We were deeply in, raised in it, pioneered
So when we left, I suppose it was easy to just conveniently forget about us, or assume we were evil people who had rejected the "truth," and what proper JW would want to contaminate themselves by talking with the dirty "powindah."
You said it! By being deeply raised in it, it makes it sooo hard to leave, but so easy for the others to leave you behind. Now this is what makes the JW?s so very unloving ....and I think it?s fair to say sinister.
Thank you everyone for sharing in this thread as I feel that it has certainly given a shameful testimony to the Jehovbahs Witlesses version of imitating Christ. And any JW?s reading this and thinking that DF'ing/shunning is scriptural, just remember that I haven't been Df'd or DA myself, nor have many others on this site.
Mike,
Hey, I remember those 2 at BBQ number 1!
Lovely children, Latte, a real credit to you and hubby.
Thanks Mike! Yes, your BBQ?s are quite fantastic - my kids were unusually good that day! Lol
How are now Mike?......fully recovered I hope!
Java,
Your children's photo is great--it's nice seeing what normal looks like.
Normal eh?? kids happily play fighting - getting ready for the real thing .....me thinks! Lol
How are you keeping?
