Nope, not for a while now, but they will learn the perils of knocking on my door if they ever come by with their poison.......

Has anyone knocked on your door recently?
by dysfunction ini am a housewife, and no one has knocked on my door to spread the "truth",not even on the weekends.
question, has anyone experienced this... or has the preaching work slowed down?
or are the witnesses less active, zealous?.

by garyneal inperhaps some of you who are unbelieving spouses married to witnesses have had to deal with this at one point of another.

The JWs are the real ones with the complex. Take my wife's dad's side of the family for instance. They attended our wedding at the KH with no problems, had us over for parties etc all the while knowing we were witnesses and not once was it ever an issue for any of them at all. They were just regular, normal people who simply wanted to have a good time. It was US in our brainwashed, Fear everything that isn't a Witness-state that felt uneasy.
In fact, I felt a lot more uncomfortable being at a social event with "the friends" than I did "wordly" people. A LOT MORE. It's just witnesses who feel that if an outsider so much as smiles at them or shows any human kindness, that it's just Satan using that person to draw them away! *sighs* Honestly....

Hi guys,
Thanks for the welcome and the kind words (and I thought all "apostates" had glowing red eyes and horns growing out their heads whilr screaming "kill, kill, kill"!! LOL!
I've only made a few posts but already I've had more encouragement/therapy from this site than I had being amongst my so called fellow witnesses. At least you guys aren't fobbing me off and just telling me to forgive or giving that classic "imperfection" excuse alot of JWs like to trot out.
I#ll be checking out that site http://www.exjw-reunited.co.uk thanks for the heads up!

How do I get them to leave me alone?
by Mr. Falcon inwhy does every ex-elder who went through so much turmoil while being an elder always whine to me about how much it sucked, yet when i mention that i don't want to be one, they suddenly get all nostalgic and tell me what a blessing it is to serve as an e-man?.
elder.. period.. maybe i might have a change of heart one day if they actually require these men to have some sort of actual psychological/communication training or if they start handing out paychecks.
but until then, i respectfully decline.. .

Well, Yippee Kai Yai Mr Falcon!!! LOL!
You guys were lucky enough to even be asked because when it came to considering me for any form of appointment apart from the usual "priveleges" I had, the elderz never even looked at me twice.
A lot of guys are eager to get appointed because it increases their popularity and their chances of getting with "sisters".
I find it interesting reading from a lot of ex elders on this site and realising the true misery behind the scenes. I never expected to be an elder at my age but in hindsight it was obviously a blessing they never considered me to become an ms.

could i walk into a K/Hall and get literature?
by Aussie Oz injust wondering!.
i know many would say ''why the hell would you do that?".
just wondering if i could actually get hard copies of some stuff for a 'donation' and not have to hunt it down.... mind you, i'd have a hard time making myself look conservative!.

Good luck. When me and my wife were still active, we went to visit Brighton convention and one of the attendant "brothers" asked us what congregation we go to before he let us in - and we were dressed up looking like your typical j-dub couple!
I suspect these jackasses are a lot more paranoid now.

Reality79 here, hailing from the UK! I've made a couple of posts but didn't introduce myself.
My story is a looooong one. I'm a faded JW and have been inactive for a while now. The main reason being, I've suffered a lot of mistreatment at the hands of a lot of my so called "brothers and sisters". It caused me to come down with very severe depression and other health problems and nearly destroyed my marriage. I spoke to the elders, but of course they were so clueless I might as well have confided in my pet fish. I told them I refuse to go door to door and tell people the witnesses are a "loving" organisation when the majority of them treat me like shit, and they couldn't answer that. I had therapy sessions for a few years and that helped me somewhat but I still haven't fully recovered.
My wife who is also inactive didn't understand at first and thought I was crazy until she started to get the same treatment from these people, which in turn opened her eyes caused her to fall away too. As is expected, no one is talking to us and we've pretty much lost our 'friends' in one fell swoop. People go out there way to avoid us and the few who ask questions pretend to be concerned when they simply want to find out something to gossip about to all the other losers in that hellhole.
This post would be a trillion words for me to even touch the surface on what I've been through.
Reading some of the experiences on here has actually been therapeutic for me, and in fact we know two other people who have faded for similar reasons and we keep in touch all the time. I've told them about this site so one day they may even become members too! It's a relief to know you're not alone. It's no wonder so many people despise the Jehovah Wickedness cult.
Anyways, looking forward to the interaction!

so a brother can't just be a publisher...
by african GB Member inwell atleast not for a long time without getting the elders' attention, either to give him priviledges or to suspect him of having committed a sin and not coming out.. .

These people are a bunch of jokers. The mentality is that if you're not a MS by the time you're in your mid to late twenties then you're "unspiritual" - although they don't say that outright (well not all the time anyway) that is just the general vibe.
I was a pioneer, read at the b/s, had a lot of the 'privileges' etc but I wasn't even an afterthought. Interestingly enough, there was a brother around my age group who was one of their favourites, but no sooner than he got his ms promotion he left the 'truth' because he couldn't handle the pressure everybody was placing on him. Of course they were all devastated that their little golden boy didn't want to know lol.
A lot of it is blatant favouritism and I've seen it a lot of the years. Brothers who are hard grafters and doing the work get overlooked because they aren't part of the clique or an elder's son, while these other little jokers get their title because their face fits or they are such-and-such's friend.
The way they encourage competitiveness, jealousy, guilt etc is a real shame.

Did you ever think you'd stop being one of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by sandy ini'm sure this question has been asked before .
i've come a long way in my thinking.
a very long way!

I never imagined leaving the Jehovah Wickedness, but after being treated like shit but an overwhelming number of these nasty fuckers including some who I thought were my friends, I finally had enough and walked away from this hellhole. My wife was against me for it at first and couldn't understand, but after getting some of the same treatment from a 'sister' at her job and others then she stopped going too.
A lot of people have left over the teachings, but speaking for myself it was because of the back stabbing and ruthlessness and constant heartbreak why I really left. Of course leaving has given me the fortitude to research the many "apostate" websites (something that obviously a no no previously) which has only strengthened my resolve to never return to this filth. I've got no time for the lying, evil GB and JWs in general. They are all just a bunch of horrible people who are nowhere near as "loving" as they pretend to be.
The next Jehovah Wickedness idiot that approaches me in the street will get the same treatment I had to put up with myself.
