  Youngbro The funny part of that story was that his wife was still very much in during the convention. SHE ENDED UP HERE about a year later and revived that post---that was how I got to read it for the first time. It was sooooo funny because she remembered trying to talk to him about some point during the DC and he looked at her like he didn't know what she was talking about! NOW she knew why and he was so busted!

  He responded by saying yes it was awful. He was a forty-something man reading Harry Potter.--Something like that. I wish I could find the thread, but it really made me smile.

  Sizemik--I'm so sorry. So VERY sorry. Having almost lost my friend to this dangerous, death dealing, advice, I can just say sorry.

  This is the reason I absolutely cannot let such poison go unchallenged. Someone reaches out for help and a loon says it's demons. God there should be a law.

  Take a fork to the meeting tomorrow. When you get bored, hold it in front of your eyes and imagine people are in jail. It would be fun to watch the study conductor through bars don't you think? Do you have a copy machine at your hall? Set it to stun!

  I read a post from someone who was at a DC---AND posting on JWN from his phone---AND reading Harry Potter!

  Everyone seems to find unique ways to deal with the meetings. LOL

  Went to the DC today...

  i caught the entire session today, and strangely, it was the first time i was able to stay completely alert for an entire dc program.

  i'm guessing the reason for that is that i was looking at the program with a critical eye for the first time in my life and was not being hypnotised by mind-numbing repitition (see steve hassen's combatting cult mind control).

  the program wasn't that bad.

  I wonder how that tiny percentage holds up to those that didn't show up and never will again? If it wasn't for developing countries, the numbers would be sliding down.

  It's hard to put it into words. It also depends on degree. You seem to be quite dialed in---but there are others that could really be hurt by that type of thing. You do seem to be hanging in there, and I'm glad. You realize this will pass---as per your myriad comment---and that is excellent. It becomes so scary when you can't see the way out and feel like this will last forever. You can tell I take depression very seriously.

  I was wondering. And I'm glad you still got fight in ya tonight. I've suffered with depression all my life, and sometimes the things people say could confuse me. You seem to be quite clear on the important stuff! Good for you! And I'm sorry, but I just gotta laugh at the myriad---I shall use that line on my brother!

  i don't just mean changing from one idea to another, once, but actually go back and forth on their teachings.

  teach one thing, then change it, then go back to basically the first belief.. .

  they seemed to do this with oral/anal sex, as well as women having to scream or fight during rape..

  Blondie, that link on to scream or not to scream is just unforgivable! So not only does a woman have to fight for her life, she must also try to figure out where the WT stands today on the issue of screaming. How dare the elders think they have the right to interrogate a victim. Law enforcement used to be quite guiilty of secondary rape---but many are now trained to handle the situation differently. The elders can't even keep up with whether she should have screamed or not.

  Thanks for the link. It's all in the library--but you can't get a dub to look at it. So sad.

They often experience fear, guilt, hopelessness and anxiety. Telling a person in this weakened condition that it's demons is NOT helpful. No it is DANGEROUS and HURTFUL. It SHOULD NOT be done. EVER.

  We need to respond tenderly to sufferers and DO NOTHING to add to anxiety or guilt. I had a friend who was told it was just demons---she quit taking her meds and chose the prayer route. She ended up committed to an institution for a very long time. We almost lost her! I love her and have been her friend for over 30 years---and these whack jobs almost killed her.

  I will not be silent when I hear this bullshit. Just thought everyone should know that.
