I have always fantasized about someone prominent standing at the podium in front of thousands of individuals. The only problem, is that for most witnesses, no matter what you say, they will have that "wow! Satan is trying so hard to stop us in the time of the end. We must be SOOOO close!" mentality. Thats why my fantasies usually stop. Though it would still be great to hear

You've only got a few seconds...
by Qcmbr init's a convention, for some reason you are now up on stage with the mic, the auditorium falls silent awaiting your inspirational thoughts, no one knows you no longer believe, amidst the crowd are many close friends and direct family.
you will never, ever get another chance like this, this is a life changing opportunity.
you will have maybe 10 seconds before they cut the mike.

QFR: "Warning - memorial partakers might be loonies!"
by cedars inas part of my objective analysis of four month's worth of watchtower study editions from july to october 2011, i found the following gem from a question from readers, on page 22 of the august 15 magazine.
the question under discussion was "how are we to understand the figures in the annual service report?
", and it goes on to provide an idiot's guide to what the figures mean, including the following.... "memorial partakers.

I love your posts. I may start my own in-depth analysis's of the WT. anyway, great find. If asked those three questions, my guess is that most JW's would say that Jehovah would not have allowed the GB to reach that position if they were not really annointed. That His "holy spirit" led them to such a position so that they could lead and guide God's people by means of the F&DS. No way Jah would let a non-annointed be up there. Thats my opinion on what most JW's would say in answer to those questions. By that logic, they could also say that theres no need for heavily scrutinzing and questioning every supposedly annointed individual. God will "reveal" in His own due time.

Would you mind my asking what your "crime" was? I'm not sure if you stated it elsewhere. I'm headed towards disfellowshipping. though no one knows it yet. I will lose everyone and everything. It will ruin my life when the news comes out. I wish you the absolute best and know that your certainly not alone here. :)

As a JW Kid Were You Expected To Get Baptised By Your Parents/ Congregation
by Hairyhegoat inhere is a quote from a ex-jw about this subject, i myself had alot of pressure from my family to get baptised and finally gave in at 14, wish i had left them a present on the way out of the pool that floated..at the dudley assembley hall .
i can't justify my entire family (parents, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandma) and friends shunning me because i chose not to uphold a dedication i made at twelve years old.
sure it was my "choice" to get baptized.

Wow! His quote describes me very well. My father is an elder and I knew what was expected of me and I didn't want to be judged by anyone(especially since my brother was getting baptised also), so I "chose" to get baptized at 16. Im 20. I dont regret my baptism as my parents worry a little less at the moment. Im sure ill regret it the second news of my "apostacy" gets out.

Am I on thin ice with my friend?
by cedars ini'm a former mts graduate, and it's a long story but i recently became inactive after realising it was all nonsense.
the problem is, i've noticed that my mts background makes it almost impossible for people to accept my new status as an "inactive" one.
people think that, given the amount of knowledge i have, there is surely no excuse for me to reach this preposterous decision.. a friend from my mts recently began emailing me to find out my reasons.

Its funny(not "haha" funny) how Ray Franz mentioned a similar statement in his CoC book. He said his prestige in the org really made people inquire as to why he left. But others who were in a similar situation, no one payed attention. Though they still suffered the same ramifications.
Your decision on what do to should be made on whatever you want out of it. Currently I'm living a lie because I can't bear to lose my family and everyone I know. But that may not be the case for you, especially given your MTS background. If you want to move on, youll have to let them go. If not, you can't say anything.

Thanx for the articles Blondie. What I find strikingly disturbing is how EVERY supposedly quoted experience is all portayed in the same WT language as the others. I really wonder how they go through the processes of getting these experiences. How they may have changed words and experiences from their actual happenings. I mean I'm sure they would change any "slang" to proper sentencing. But half their quotes seem nothing like how normal people would actually say them.

sd-7- wow your made up experience actually sounds very close to what the WT would say. It's very true that experiences leave out often vital information that could potentially change the view of the overall experience IMHO. Of course, those omissions aren't soley done by the WT. You usually only place in portions of what you feel is relevent to the point your trying to make....in this case, that angels direct their preaching.
I just wish more JW's would have a wider radar.

Two weeks ago during the bible study, we werein chapter 7 of the publication " 'Bearing Thorough Witness' About God's Kingdom". Paragraph 16 and 17 say this:
16. Christians today are priveleged to share in the work like that done by Philip. Often, they are able to present the Kingdom message to those they meet in informal settings, such as when traveling. In many cases, it is apparent that their meeting up with an honesthearted individual is no coincidence. This is to be expected, for the Bible makes clear that the angels are directing the preaching work so that the message reaches "every nation and tribe and tongue and people." (Rev. 14:6) Angelic direction in the preaching work is precisely what Jesus foretold. In his illustration about the wheat and the weeds, Jesus said that during the harvesttime-the conclusion of the system of things-"the reapers are angels." He added that these spirit creatures would "collect out from his Kingdom all things that cause stumbling and persons who are doing lawlesses." (Matt. 13:37-41) At the same time, the angels would gather prospective heavenly heirs of the Kingdom-and later "a great crowd" of "other sheep"-whom Jehovah wants to draw to his organization. (scriptures...)
17. As evidence that this is taking place, some of those whom we approach in our ministry say that they had been praying for spiritual guidance. Consider one experience in which two Kingdom publishers were accompanied by a small child. At the end of the morning, the two Witnesses were about to stop their preaching work, but the child was unusually eager to go to the next home. In fact, he went by himself and knocked on the door! When a young lady opened the door, the two adult Witnesses approached to talk to her. To their surprise, the woman explained that she had just been praying for someone to call on her to help her to understand the Bible. A bible study was arranged.
END
Those two paragraphs really show me juse how narrow-minded the witnesses are. They try to use these few experiences of individuals praying for "truth" and "guidance" as having the only truth. That angels are answering their prayers by sending the JDubs to their door. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have seen MANY, MANY, MANY experiences(including those on this forum) who feel that God has answered their prayers in VERY different ways. Those experiences seem to FAR outweight the few the JW's feel they have. I've seen those who say the prayed for truth and then realize a blatant misquoting of the scriptures by the JW's. Of course, the GB would NEVER publish any other experiences as they would lose credibility(which they barely have in my book). But any thinking JW would realize that the answering of prayers by the world is not limited to them being sent to the door of a "worldy", "honesthearted" individual. Thoughts?

ugh. My mom pulls the same crap. Every time some sort of disaster happens, she raves "bible prophesy" shaking her head like were all supposed to nod in agreement. I wont rule it out altogther but it certainly annoying because its soooo predictable.
