I slept about an hour last night. I'm so tired but wired. Today we go back to the college to watch the others play and pick up our first place trophy. Instead of the shirt and tie I'm wearing an aloha shirt and beads. The kids will get a kick out of it.

Ten days from now we'll be almost 400 miles away in Baker City playing for the state championships.

Modern dyes won't fade as much as older ones. Plus the ones that fade the most anyway are the jailhouse tatts. I wanted a black one and was afraid it would fade to blue eventually. She assured me it wouldn't and then showed me some tatts on her that are black that are several years old. Still look new.

Sorry, it is Basketball. I was wrong. I did get some sleep last night, sometimes for several minutes in a row.

We travel about 50 miles friday night to play the other number 1 seed in our district championships. Winner goes to the state championships in two weeks. My boys have been great. Won every league game and now we play the first place team from up north. Two teams left out of 16. Only one goes to state.
With the grandstands filled with coaches tomorrow night this will be one of my biggest games. But I have a good team that is skilled and filled with desire. They are prepared. Now it's showtime. Other teams may have a couple of players that actually would be the best players on my team, but, I have the deepest bench in the state. We should do well.
If not I'll be crying the blues here late tomorrow night. Tip off is 9:15pm west coast time. Keep some good thoughts for me. These kids have played their hearts out.

Jesika I just got back from basketball practice. I was watching the end of the girls team practice and you came to mind. There is a young girl on the team that I know lives in an abusive home. She's a mess because of it. So I started thinking about the letter you wrote. I normally wouldn't give this sort of advice since I'm on the outside.
I want you to send it. It's good for you. It needs to be said. Go for it. It is a knee to dads nuts but......

maybe i am fussy, but when i put trash out to be picked up, i don't expect my neighbors to come and get it.
we did not see them this time, but we have seen them before.
my hubby put a burned out mr. coffee out beside our trash can last night, and this am it was gone,prior to the trash men picking it up.
I've had my fair of trashy neighbors over the years but none that stole my trash. Then again I never put out some great stuff like a coffee pot. Gee what do you expect? Next thing you know you'll be putting out coffee grounds and angry because someone takes them!!!!
What about putting a box in your garbage can. Gift wrapped and addressed to your neighbor? When they take it home to open of course they'll discover carefully wrapped dog crap. Can they possibly complain???

Jesika that was hard for me to read to be honest. I'm a dad of adult kids. If I had received a letter like that it would be like a knee to the nuts. But if I had put my kids through what you've been through then I'd say I have it coming.
Did you send the letter off yet? It's from the heart and I think those are the best letters of all. What is important for you is to make sure you aren't sending it with anger. I don't think you are, but, if you are then hold off because you could have regrets. But if you feel good (and I think you should) then post it and sit back.
