  My first Christmas!

  Merry Christmas Katie. We had our first Christmas for many years today. Lots of fun and I hardly felt like a pagan. Life is returning to normal finally.

  Dealing with mom.....

  well today i spent christmas at my dad's, but when i got home i had a disturbing message from my mom.

  for you that know me, you know my mom has borderline personality disorder and is difficult to deal with at most times.

  i had planned on actually seeing her before christmas, but everytime i tried to call her she was not home, so i was not able to.

  It's not too much to ask at all. I'm no relationship expert but to be honest I'm not sure what you really can do to change things. But, things will change, they always do. Maintain as much contact as you reasonably can with your mom.

  my husband came home from the grocery store yesterday (christmas eve).

  and said he saw a witness couple driving around the parking lot handing out mags from their car window.

  i mean how lazy is that?

  Nicely done Scully.

  proplog2 what is a sign of freedom isn't so much the celebration of Christmas but the idea that we don't care about the vomit from people like you.

  We had a wonderful day, enjoyed this day with family for the first time in a very long time. We didn't discuss religion, say any prayers or worship a darn thing. We laughed and had a blast. Some more friends are coming over this evening and we're going to prepare them a meal. What pagans we are.

  unreasonable nit-picking by witnesses!

  how many of you have had experiences where elders and others in the congregation presented and even pushed their own viewpoints on matters which should be left to each person's own conscience.. we are all aware of the frowns and negative opinions on the way we sometimes dressed; one elder commented on my tie as it was too bright - i once bought a pretty ornament which had a pyramid shape, afterwards a sister said that i should not have this in my house (she did not know precisely why...but sort of felt it was wrong!).

  we got a few frowns when we had a wind chime, but at least there we did some research on and told the individual to mind his own business.. how many of you know the "demon inspired" proctor & gamble sign, which prompted many witnesses to abstain from purchasing any p & g products.

  My old hall had lots of personal opinions treated as THE LAW. First it was handguns, no one would be allowed any privledges if they had a handgun. Next was hunting. Once my wife was taken in back because she wore boots under her long dress. She told them 'we live in mud' but that didn't matter.

  Are witnesses getting lazy?

  thank you for the warm welcome i received when i made my first post last week.

  it is a beautiful christmas day here,more like early autumn than the beginning of winter.

  so i was a little surprised when i drove by my old kingdom hall a little after 9:00 am and saw that there were no cars parked in the lot----no one had met for field service.

  Well here in the northwest they are out in service today. I just took a little trip into town and saw a cargroup with 3 of my old friends in it. Funny, I'm just inactive yet they didn't return my wave. When I got home a few minutes ago I left my gate open, in case they want to come in and admire the Christmas tree.

  Scully that quote you posted sure brings back old memories. I used to go out in service with one lady who was much like that. If someone wanted to close a door on us she would make sure she said "you know we're Jehovah Witnesses, right?" She did this so Jehovah would know who to kill.

  But at least she got out of the car.....

  a friend and i were out earlier,saw a salvation army band playing ,some singers.sooooooooo we joined in with the above song with the streetcorner choir!

  Merry Christmas to you too Tina. We enjoyed having our grandaughter over this afternoon and enjoying her fussing over the presents.

  I'm more excited about NewYears actually. We are going to be underwater, in the Pacific Ocean at the stroke of midnight, waving our underwater flares and blowing bubbles. Fun stuff
