What are you doing New Year's Eve?

my wife and i will stay home, watch the big doings on tv, and at midnight, my wife will take a frying pan and a big spoon, go to the front door, bang hell out of the pan and yell at the top of her voice, happy new year.!.

39 years for Mulan and dad!

i am very greatful for that winter day in 1962!
of course i wouldn't be here if they hadn't married, but more than that i am so lucky to have such wonderful parents who set an amazing example of how good a marriage can be.

Still lots of missing pieces Ralph. Did you miss the new light back in 1995? The generation from 1914 has been changed so that isn't a factor. One man claiming the west hates all muslims isn't the same as all religions being destroyed. You have a very long wait. All my older JW friends have died waiting for the end. And they KNEW it was the end for a long time too.

Ralph when I was a JW we were told that the society would have to go underground, that all religions would be destroyed first and then they would in turn go after the society. Religion as a whole are doing just fine aren't they? But the society has lost many members over the last year. Many countries are down in numbers this year.
But Christendom is growing daily.
So it's a long ways from the end.

Double Lives and Disfellowshipping
by joelbear inwe read a lot on here of the high number of witnesses, young and old, who have lived or are living double lives so that they will not be disfellowshipped and lose their social and family support structures.. we all know the mess this makes in people's lives and psychological health.. to me its an interesting by product of man trying to be god's policemen.
it doesn't work.
its a poorly constructed manmade plan that people just figure out a way to get around for the most part.. clean organization indeed.

If it weren't for a double life, I'd have no life at all.
Actually my son was a teen while attending meetings. He was a pretty decent kid who was trying very hard to follow the rules. When I asked him why he only had 2 witness friends he told me it was because the others weren't exactly what I thought they were. That he would be better off hanging with his friends from school who attended other churches.
Had to be frustrating for those kids.
