I recall the company line when I asked a similar question. I was told that Jehovah God doesn't need anyone, but, since he is so loving he will allow humans to help out. Sort of like make busy work I guess.

by Simon inone of the things i'd like to see / do .... when they are about to give some poor young brother or sister a 'spiritual going over' in one of their damn judicial committes and have lined up three or more elders to intimidate the errant one:.
the 'victim' announces they have some people to help represent them as a dozen rough-looking apostates march in and stand behind the suddenly-less-confident-looking 'representatives of the most high god jehovah' looking over their shoulders to show them what it really feels like to have the the fear of god put into you.. wouldn't that be nice?

Why hang on in there??
by KenUK innot been posting on this board too long, but started my ex jw internet excursion with the philia group back in 1995 (thanx alanf:-)).. not wishing to poke anybody in the eye but i'm curious at those mails i've read where some of you guys are hanging in on there (from where i sit) under the jw tag.
by that i mean you've clearly identified you've not attended meetings, have no intention of going to meetings, maybe (albeit under the jw rules)in a d/a or d/f situation, but laying low.. geniunely interested in why - i got d/f by banging on the elders door (metaphysically speaking) and sitting through a judicial to get out properly.. maybe 33 years as jw straight off (18 years under hillary step formula:-))skewed my thinking, but just curious....

Ken my main reason for staying low is the same as many people here. I didn't want to disrupt relations from family members I care about. But to be honest, at this point in time I don't care if I get DFed any longer. But I won't make it easy for the bastards. If they want to DF me they are going to have to work for it.
Then they'll get to see how much the society will really back them in a court case.

How Long A JW ( Baptised )?
by hillary_step ini frequently read on this board that somebody has 'been a jw for over 25 years' and then learn that they are in fact 25 years and three days old.. i am very easily confused, in fact i actually got inside a car of similar color to my own recently and spent at least five minutes with a furrowed brow trying to force my car key into its ignition, fortunately, i realised my error before i was arrested.
so, just to humor me, can you all post how long you were/are baptised jw's?.

I was baptized 4 months after starting my study in 1994. Last meeting was early 99. Not DAed or DFed but in all honesty I could care less if that were to happen now.
