  Agree with Reallydid.

  Also if you are not married, use reverse psychology and ask her to "chaperone" you on a date....only bring a third wheel to keep her company if you know what I mean.

  I'm stunned that it's been two years since the Hijinx on this thread.

  Those of you who don't know me, I was pretty much calling JR Brown to be a wiseass so I could post a funny thread. Never did I imagine it would blossom into what it did. Look at the Page views on Page 1. I think I cost Simon a lot of money that month.

  Any Bethel insiders know if JR Brown ever figured this out?

  Yknot, any humor in the life of those Poor things makes me smile.

  I talk to an ex-JW boyfriend a couple of times a year. He and I almost got married. He still has his head up the WBTS's behind. He turned 40 this year. Really? 40 years of depriving yourself of sex? To prove what? My husband's like, HUH?

  He's an Elder, so he 'should' be happy, but he's not. I feel bad for the guy. He's always trying to get me to send him pictures.

  Of course I'd be remiss if I didn't add, you never actually 'dated' your first wife if you did it the time-honored, chaperoned at every turn, JW method.

  So this is your chance to get to know someone without a script that asks and answers, "What are your intentions?" This isn't a Nasa contract, it's just dinner and a movie. Don't sweat it, you'll do fine. I did.

  Well truthfully, no different.

  In about 1993 my sister sent me some 'apostate' literature to tell me about the 'truth' ... I remember a couple of articles in particular about the Society's not so truthful past about dealing with black JWs. At the time, I barely read it. Later, many years later, like 7 or 8, after I had already left the JW, I saw those same articles online.

  When I came across them again, I read them with much greater interest but I had already left, due to how the JW organization treats human beings, not doctrinal issues.

  I suspect you will get two different answers; some the same as mine. Others, who left because of doctrinal issues they found out about while researching on the internet.

  There's no doubt how much a role the net has played in their leaving the 'truth.'
