That was your choice and I completely support your right to that choice.
Besides, Pookybear is a cute name. LOL.
has anybody seen the ads on the discovery health channel for the show autism times 6?

i didn't want to hijack the suicide topic because it was a bit more serious than what i am about to say.
not that what i am about to say is comical.
i've been dealing with major depression for the past year and a half or so.
Oh man ER.
I am one of the more ascerbic posters on this board....so I'm sorry if I don't have puppies and rainbows to share with you.
I don't know how long you have been on this board. I'm only going to ask you if you are familiar with the story of Utopian Reformist, a good friend of mine. He went against every fiber of his being, to support his wife like a good JW. He paid the ultimate price, as did his whole family which culminated in the death of one of his children....because his 'theocratic' wife was willing to sacrifice her children to the Gods of 117 Adams Street.
You body is giving you warning signs. If you are not physically ill yet, you will be. I don't know how old your children are, but in my opinion the best thing you can do is take those kids aside and tell them, "I am so sorry, I have made a horrible mistake and I have put a man-made religion before your needs as human beings. I can't live another day in this joyless made up world the Jehovah's Witnesses have invented. I want to celebrate your lives, I want to celebrate your birthdays, I want to support you doing whatever makes YOU happy, and I can't do that at the Kingdom Hall. Will you please forgive me and let me be your Dad the way I know how best?"
Your wife is an adult. She has a choice. Your children do not. And she is required by the Witlesses to let you have equal access to your children.
You will make new friends. Real friends. You will cry. But you will recover and you will move on.
I hope I helped.
i did for a couple of years.
i was involved with setting up food stands and night security.
i really felt like i was contributing and this made me feel great!
"kraft paper" = brown butcher paper that was placed over the mirrors in the women's bathrooms to prevent women from checking their looks in the mirrors.
How sexist.

No? Then, by all means, they should keep having kids until one starts doing that.
Exactly.
If there is one message I could get across to poor women worldwide it would be to STOP HAVING GODD@MN BABIES!!!!
This is what Margaret Sanger fought so hard for. Women if you don't know who this is, you should be shamed into learning.
Initially met with fierce opposition to her ideas, Sanger gradually won some support, both in the public as well as in the courts, for a woman's choice to decide how and when, if ever, she will bear children. In her drive to open the way to universal access to birth control, Sanger was a controversial figure whom some now consider ahead of her time.

My other two children are very happy, in part because they're not aware of the nonsense my oldest son was exposed to.
Based on this schematic, if they were sexually abused or physically abused they'd never know the difference there either.
Look--you can do what you want to do. All I know is how difficult it is (physically, financially, morally) to raise two completely healthy children and expose them to the best life has to offer. I have a workmate who can't even afford the *ucking 6 kids he has, and yet his wife is getting surgery so they can have two more!!!!!
Only the ignorant pop babies out without a financial plan. Only the ignorant allow their children to breeze through school on the hopes that there's a scholarship somewhere out there that will help them go to school. Only the ignorant pop out babies without regard to planning exactly how it is they're going to parent that child.
Because the rest of us know, that even with a plan things go awry.
I am sorry and don't mean to offend anyone, but the natural life cycle says that moms and dads don't really have to change diapers much after the age of 2. I would not and could not intentionally bring a child into this world that did not have the capability of growing into a normal human.
St. Ann for your other two there is always therapy.

Any thoughts on this?
Yes.
I don't feel sorry for them at all. That's what they wanted. They clearly don't believe in genetic testing or abortion. I'm not going to cheerlead for them.
i was just reminiscing over some of the old books from the past.
i was looking more at the illustrations and pictures and came upon the picture on page 4 before chapter 1, in the old orange book "the bible-gods word or man's" published in the 1989. the same year as "questions for young people-awnsers that work" was published!
check out the person in the blue dress!!
Gimme a break.
It was the 80's. Nobody waxed their eyebrows. Or anything else.

Even though I felt very left out as a child also, the Assemblies were a reward. I have almost the exact same memories as Bonafide but on the other side of the country.
The dramas. Leaving your seat 15 minutes before lunch break to get geared up. For YEARS and I do mean that. We arrived at 5 am, made food served it, sat through the morning session then ran back to serve lunch.
There was a true feeling of fellowship--we were brainwashed so I didn't realize it wasn't the truth.
Bonafide, you must have also been raised by Uber-Witnesses.....that was the end-all and be-all of our existence. We lived to serve. If we were in Sodom we probably would have been offered up to the angels.
Texasgurl.....you must lurk a lot! What a great second post.
i read this in another post, and since i haven't been reading wt for years, and if there was an original post i didnt' see it.
i'm scared.
are they officially coming after long-time faders now?
We must keep in mind that the individual continues to be our spiritual brother.
THIS IS A DANGEROUS SENTENCE.
The inactive one clearly wishes to be inactive. The WBTS has identified that person as still a JW; a spiritual brother.
as a former missionary, i would eagerly and greedily look forward to going home and seeing local brothers and sisters.... i would try to give as many public talks and service meeting experiences as possible.... at either of these venues, i could generally take home anywhere from $100 to $300 from all the $20 or more green handshakes.... get-togethers were also an excellent tax-free money making venue (see all your old friends, and get cards from them)... and would generally net from $500-$1000 for a get-together (after an absence of at least a year or more).... so a trip to the us could easily bring in $2k..... tax free.... plus all the perks while visiting the us... the friends that treat you to nice restaurants, lend you their car, etc..... anyone else want to share their green handshakes stories????
let's expose greed green handshakes for what they are!
indulgences for the rich, greed for the clergy order of special fulltime servants!.
Tiffy it doesn't count, it's like giving a gift to the clergy. You can claim it but who knows if you'll be audited. Receipts from from 501c3 non-profits.
