Laura Ingalls dresses-- dresses with lots of ruffles or OVERLY modest, meant to make you look like a throwback to Little House on the Prarie.
i have noticed that so many of you have coined new words.
i find them hilarious.
i would love to have a list of them along with the original author if possible.

Hilarious thread.

has anyone else experienced something like this?.
in my mother-in-law's congregation a special pioneer was recently moved to the congregation and he gave a talk where he said he and the other elders felt there was a bad spirit in the congregation and there must be something going on that is preventing jehovah's holy spirit from operating properly.
but he didn't state explicity what the problem might be and now gossip is rife in the congregation about whether there might be a sinner or a traitor in their midst.. for many this is just the excuse they need to gossip and bad mouth others.
This witchhunt technique is the same one that Adolf Hitler used on his Hitler Youth. Used the kids to turn against the parents in that situation, but oddly enough the end result of both witchhunts is suspicions, forced confessions that may or may not be true, and distrust of the nuclear family.
Things that make you go hmmmm.......
have you seen the scam commercial on tv?
the 911 commemorative 20 liberian dollar coin certificate?
lol how gullible are some people?.
I always like how they use ".999 silver leaf" or "pure gold clad" for these things
yeah about as "authentic" as the "official Liberian currency."
sad news - the kid was only about 16 years old.
he apparently died from a fall after having a seizure.

Rather than comfort, may they gain a painful awakening to the fact that they are involved in a cult, and may that knowledge move them to help rescue other lesser-known families who have had children stolen by the church of Scientology.
i don't know if anyone has posted this, but if so it merits a reposting.
i am sorry to post it here at the beginning of a new year at a time of happiness.

When someone steals in this country, we practice the much more humane method of imprisoning that person in a cell for a very long time, and then we act surprised when they turn into animals.
Of course, if you plan to steal a LOT of money in this country, you should have the required attire of a Brooks Brothers suit and make sure you move in all the right circles on Wall Street and the world of finance and then we won't care as much as we do if you steal a loaf of bread.
i guess he kicked the bucket

Glen, you showed that a tenacious lawyer, placed in a situation that allows him to focus all his efforts on a dimly lit corner of case law, and given free rein, and material support, to doggedly pursue an agenda without the usual burdens of earning a living and supporting a family, can illuminate that case law for the benefit of your masters.
You also showed how deep pockets can prevail, and no doubt about it the WT has deep pockets.

SNOPES says this is a myth, an urban legend. This is a street stunt for money.
Common hustlers.
first, and most important: thanks to all those who read my introduction-post last saturday, and especial thanks to those who replied.
like many who have been disfellowshipped (and especially those raised in the org) i've been dragged through icy waves of agonizing hurt and anger; often followed by times of peace and letting go; only to be hit by another turbulent and bitter bout of animosity and grief.
the tides do run deep, don't they.
I'm pretty much an Athiest now, however I find it highly ironic that the JWs themselves fulfill the scripture that they love to quote.
The have "no natural affection." None. If raised in this religion, from the time you are a small child, you learn that as soon as an announcement is made about someone being disfellowshipped, that person must become invisible to you. It doesn't matter if you spoke to them every day for ten years, they are suddenly the walking dead.
Instead of doing as they claim their Lord Jesus did, go in search of the one sheep, hell, they close the fence on the one stray sheep who is lost and alone outside of the only home they've known.
My husband summed it up succintly when I met him, he said, Yes, the JW religion teaches you to kick people when they are down. They don't teach you to love people. He said, when people make mistakes, or bad decisions, that's when they are most in need of love and support, not being thrown under the bus.
Yep, that was 15 years ago and I decided he was right. No one in that church really loved me. They never called to see if I was dead or alive.
Non-human indeed.
