I admire your persistence in looking for the true religion. Don't waste your time. It's not here yet. Probably won't be here for a while. If you find comfort or friendship in a particular religion. If it brings a measure of contentment or peace; by all means, indulge yourself. Just don't be deluded into believing they speak for God. They don't. You want to speak to God? Keep praying. Otherwise Live Well..... Enjoy Life.

Paradise Earth for JW's the same as Heaven for other Christian groups?
by punkofnice ini've often thought it weird how jar hoover was going to lovingly murder all non jw's soon (terms and conditions apply and are subject to 'overlapping').
then the good ones would live in paradise happy that their family, friends and loved ones all died because jar hoover would mess with their minds.. recently i've been worshipping in a church but the same scenario has posed itself in a different way.
if good christians go to heaven whilst family, friends and loved ones who don't believe go to hell...........what's the difference from believing that to believing the jw nonsense???????.

Both. Good as an elder. Bad as a sinner. (Then good as a sinner cause I ended up out)

Review and Comments on the New Elders Book
by MrDarkKnight ini recently completed an exhaustive review of an unofficial copy of the new elders manual.
my father, who is currently serving as an elder told me a friend of his in the service department told him it was on the internet so i eagerly looked for it and found it.
yes, i know it was a violation of copyright, but while at bethel i made copies of many technical manuals which is also a copy of copyright so the wts hypocrisy does not concern me.. i was appointed as an elder the year the pay attention book (manual replaced by this one) was released so i have very good working knowledge of the old book and could compare the two books.

I was in for 50 years. Was an elder. Sat on committees with the CO & DO to get rid of "marginal" elders. Had DC parts. Father-in-law personally knew Rutherford. Got kicked out for divorce. Realized it was all a lie. First thing I did? Got a nice tattoo. Then I got another one. Always wanted a pistol, so I've applied for my permit. All New Yorkers need one of those. As for apologies, I think I'll wait for them to come from the GB first. Shouldn't have to wait long for that, should I?

2 Tier Watchtower Publications- 1) For Regulars and 2) For Door-to-Door
by dreamgolfer infolks, i dont post much although i have been raised a jw all my life.. it has been awhile since this begain to bother me but i have to ask...what is the true story of why the wtbts created a 2nd edition for wt magazine placement purposes only?
i have been puzzled but can only suppose the reasons, costs, control, etc...but truly did they think that when ct russell started the magazine it was for all to read, not published for a "select few" and if you come regular to the meetings we'll get you the "real issue" with real articles?.
i know this has probably been discussed over and over, but please humor me and tell me how they can with a straight face "they" think this was "ok" to publish in this manner.. this alone smacks of hypocrasy, as it was not the intention of the faithful slave to do such a thing when jesus put control on earth in ct's hands, funny how that works out.

It is coming to the realization of many who have been in for decades that this is just as it was when it started; a manmade religion. It does not now nor ever had holy spirit, insight or love of the flock.

For Lars...
by serenitynow! ini find your thoughts about being anointed/god revealing himself to you, interesting but i don't want to derail that other thread.
for those who don't know, i asked lars why god revealed himself to him, making him a believer because of having direct evidence, and why god hasn't done the same for me (and others).. lars responded (i added paragraphs for readibility):.
serenitynow: why you and not me?

Geez Lars, what's with "We hope..." crap. You're of the anointed class. What kind of spiritual crumbs are being handed down to you? You must be of the loser class. Hell, I hope a lot of things happen. That must put me at your level. What do you know... I AM AN ANOINTED ONE! Kneel before me you pidgeons!!

So what do ya'll think about the recent new light?
by stillin9 inyou know, the thing they were talking about in the 2011 dc.
it was about how the "toes" of daniel's image no longer represent all the individual governments that have come around in human history.
and that the anglo-american world power is the last world power we'll see before the end of the system of things.

Of course the ten toes are pointing to foot fungus. As we all know, any good fungus treatment last 7 days. Ergo the end will come in either 7 days, weeks, months, years, decades or centuries. I'm just waitin for the noo light to let me know. Then I'll tell all of you. At the next DC. Next year. Maybe. If you're nice. And send money.

A concerned JW wrote "mistakes will happen."
by InterestedOne inin the thread http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/213523/1/feeling-a-bit-alienated, concerned jw wrote:.
mistakes will happen.
concerned jw, if mistakes will happen, i was wondering what mistakes you feel the jw organization is currently making?
-
mrquik
Mistakes will happen. OK lets follow that line of reasoning. Who's responsible for the mistakes? If a JW concedes that the GB out of human imperfection is responsible should their doctrine be followed? Could not any religion make the same claim? On the other hand, if the Holy Spirit allowed them to make mistakes which cost lives only to reverse that decision, would not Jehovah God himself be bloodguilty? The only reasonable answer is that they are not divinely inspired now nor ever have been. Their arrognant, aloof attitude is so similar to the Scribes & Pharisees. I hope someone, somewhere passes this on to them. As for the rest of us, I'm a firm believer that neither the last generation nor the true religion have arrived nor will arrive in our lifetime. Until it does; Live Well.......Enjoy Life.

I now enjoy going up to those still in & in public say "Hi". I make sure I say it loud enough to attract the attention of people around me. Just watching them look at their feet & skulk away in front of others is so entertaining. Try it. It becomes very enpowering. We're not the ones who have anything to feel ashamed of, they are. I want them to feel the way they made me feel for years. Self righteous, hypocritical, arrogant gasbags. Just another false religion.

Still waiting for the true religion to show up. Until then, I'm sleeping in late on Sundays.
