Got Df'd after leaving a intolerable marriage. Remarried a wonderful girl. Will be celebrating our 5th anniversary next Feb. I'm viewed by family still in as an "apostate" so most everyone I knew in 4 local congregations avoid me like the plague. I do enjoy watching them squirm when I see them Sat. morning in the donut shop "witnessing".

Former Elders? What did you not like about serving as an elder?
by JakeM2012 ina few of my pet peeves were:.
the po/cobe knowing that he needed to have an elders meeting after the meeting but not telling any other elders.
humm, but his wife knew.

Having to put up with the assertive elders by playing politics. As a kid, we met at one elder's house for the "Babylon the Great" book study. ( Remember that gem?) He heated with wood. The house was at least 90 degrees at every study. He had a Volkswagon sedan we took out in service in the winter. Froze my ass right off. God, how I miss field service, meetings, committees, assemblies, the arrogance, the deceit, the fear.....

Well I gotta go......
by punkofnice in...i might drop in every now and then but i hope you all enjoy life, escape the watchtower(r) and live prosperous lives.. i can't say i contribute much here anyway (and i'm not attention seeking).. i'm just going to get on with life away from the constant reminder of the mistakes i made being a jw zombie drone.. i guess i'm just going to fade.......rather quickly.. of course i didn't need to make any posts here to disappear but i thought it'd be polite and very british to bid you all a fond farewell.. see you all sometime.....maybe.....maybe not.....maybe....... bye!.
ps.
don't pm me as i won't be checking the pms.. .

Zealous Witnesses who never had children and regret it now.
by MsGrowingGirl20 ini had two close friends in the org.
one is in her early thirties and got married last year and the other one is single and in her late twenties.
after reading coc, i couldn't help but feel sad at how ray and his wife felt regret at putting the religion first and not having any children.

I had a close friend who was a CO. His wife was the joy of his life. They, of course, never had children waiting patiently for paradise. When she died, he was inconsolable. It was unbearable to watch. He wasted away & died several years later. This sick cult is guilty of so many tragedies on so many levels.

We're Jehovah's Witnesses
by Nosferatu in"ours is the god of true prophecy, what he fortells comes to be".
i don't know if this song is in the new "scream at jehovah" songbook, but i always found this lyric odd even when i was in.
it seems to imply that there are many gods and not just one.. anyone else ever think that?.

I've been out over 5 yrs. & still have these tunes pop up from time to time. I still remember tunes from the little green songbook. Gotta play more AC/DC & Black Sabbath.

Do you think "Blondie" is addicted to reading Watchtowers and Awakes?
by booker-t ini remember when i was a "devout" jws i could not wait to get the new watchtowers and awakes from the wednesday nite theocratic ministry school.
i would actually salivate thinking of the new information jehovah had in the magazines for us.
i was "franatical" and i would go home still in my three piece suit and devour the magazines that very nite.

Thanks for the research Blondie. I had 50 yrs in & only attend funerals of family at this point. You're review is the only real time connection I have (or want) with the WT. As I still have one daughter in, I think it's important to keep current on JW doctrine.

Got to talk with my JW daughter
by mrquik ini spilled 5 gallons of boiling water over my leg at a clam bake.
avoid that if at all possible.
ended up in the burn ward & went through a skin graft.

Thanks all for your kind remarks. I can't speak for the rest of the country, but here in upstate New York that is what we call boiling a crap load of clams & inviting all your friends over. I spilled the very first pot, was rushed to the hospital & didn't get even one lousy clam. Next time I'm going to have the damn thing catered. I did, though, get to speak to my daughter. I even got a get well card from her. Almost was worth it.

I spilled 5 gallons of boiling water over my leg at a clam bake. Avoid that if at all possible. Ended up in the burn ward & went through a skin graft. Avoid that as well. The upside is my oldest daughter came to see me. I hadn't seen or talked to her in several years. I remembered how others have handled these meetings & followed their example. I avoided arguing. I told her some day this will all work out & that I will always love her. I would like to think that I will see her & my grandchildren some day. In any event, I was happy to see her again. By the way, I didn't even get one lousy clam.
