Don't worry about me. Please pray for the Buffalo Bills this football season. I want to see them win the Superbowl. I will definitely take that as a sign that the END IS NEAR! -

Has anyone thought of the spin that the "society" will put on bethel layoffs?
by Lied2NoMore infirst, how about a joke?.
what do you call someone who just turned apostate?.
im thinking sometime in the future the society will put a spin on what is happening similar to what has been done in the past.. they will say apostasy once again reared its ugly head in the organization and layoffs was the only way to "cleanse" the organization.. once disgruntled ones begin to use their voice, they will be forced to strike back with some spin to make all those who have the guts to complain look like they were the problem.. good theory huh?.

Those of us that were in the cult know this oh so well. My brother is a congregation overseer. He's very intelligent & could have easily got a college degree. He's now 63 & had to collect his social security early. He drives a school bus for extra cash. It breaks my heart to see him struggle at this point in life. I still talk to him on occasion, bringing up concrete arguments tactfully. He has those JW blinders on & there is no reaching him. At this point in his life it would probably be pointless anyway. I'd rather see him happy in his delusion than heartbroken over all the lost opportunities. -

More rumors, 500 families laid off from South African bethel.
by bohm infrom a recent reddit thread:.
i just received confirmation from a very trusted source in south africa bethel that up to 500 "families" (i imagine couples or singles) are getting let go from that branch.. also confirmed is the special pioneer cull.. what really strikes me about the layoffs is that the south african bethel provides literature and other needs for most of africa, a huge growth area for the org.. .

The WBTS realizes that Walmart will be hiring more for the Christmas season. What a loving provision to dump all these expensive freeloaders with no commercial skills at the feet of the world's commercial giant...... -

I found myself in a similar situation. After I left, I began to lower my personal moral standards ever so slightly. I then realized that my standards were never the WBTS standards. I made an effort to keep what standards I had as a JW; not for them but for me. I want that to define me to the rest of the world by having class, being humble, showing loving kindness, being patient, honest & happy. (I'm keeping the tattoos though.) -

NOW THAT I AM OUT.
by Guy Montag ini used to be jon preston.

Hi Guy;
I been out 8yrs. Divorced the WT wife & remarried the love of my life. Still have one daughter in who doesn't talk to me; but overall I've never been happier. I had 50 yrs.in & I think about the cult less & less. Tomorrow I'm surprising an old buddy who's been out most of his life with a gift certificate for a tattoo. I pass a hall often; usually beep during the sessions just to be a jerk. Took up skiing, bought a new Harley & cruise the Caribbean every year. My hope is for each & every one of us is to: Live Well & Enjoy Life!!!

What woke you up?
by Israel Ricky Gonzales inin march of 2014, i was a very active jw, a ministerial servant, gave a public talk, was an attendant for the memorial, and one of 4 cleaning captains for an international convention of 40,000+ attendees.
so what woke me up?
an innocent comment from a co-worker about the candice conti court case rang a bell that could not be unrung.

I wasted 50 yrs. of my life in the cult. Married during the scare of 75 to a woman I didn't love. Just concerned with self- preservation. I figured I would learn to love her in "Paradise" just a scant few months away. Father- in- Law was of the anointed & knew Rutherford personally. I got quite a few bonus points marrying into the family. Met a number of the GB, CO's DO's. Became a well known elder. Gave district talks, worked on the RBC, had stage duty at the assemblies...As the years passed, I finally found the love of my life, divorced the wife & of course, got DF'd. I figured I would get reinstated within a year or two. Two of the three on the committee were close friends & were well aware of the situation. The third had been a rival elder & there was no way he was letting back in anytime soon. (By the way Frank, THANK YOU !!!) After three years I got pissed & started research in disfellowshipping. This let to Paul G's website which led to Crisis of Conscience. That was a complete shock. I knew some of those guys. Had dinner with them & their wives. I read the book in three days & I was out. I became a full blown "apostate". Most JW's in Western NY steer clear of me. Got a couple of nice tattoos...... -

We are not thinking folks. What is the best way to get JW's to check out the events in Australia.
by James Mixon intell our jw family members, door knockers, and stand sitters that you were very impressed.
by the branch overseer and other elders in australia, they gave a fine witness.. so what will happen, they will tell their friends the brothers in australia gave a fine.
witness.

Great idea. I wish I could use it but I'm widely known as an "apostate" in western NY. Best I can do is honk the horn on the Harley Sunday mornings going by the cult meeting..... -

"And what happened next was simply unbelievable!"
by Terry ini always sit in the same spot, just outside starbucks in a vestibule area with a table in the air-conditioned space.
i say "always," but not today.. somebody with two laptops and a table filled with business ledgers was in "my" favorite spot!.
so, i took a tiny wooden table inside the coffee shop on a long padded bench next to 3 other identical tables.. as the clickbait banner ads like to say: "and what happened next was simply unbelievable!".

Well played Terry. I've used the same ruse a number of times. I'm from out of town, had an aunt who studied, have studied a number of religions, noted this on the news lately..........If nothing else it's a hell of a lot of fun. Oh; feel free to count you time.......
