Both great grand parents (The Garlands) were from Scotland. I remember them as short & feisty. Is that the norm in Scotland. And what is a Scottish Egg? -

As another Xmas approaches...
by snare&racket ini hope everyone here is well and staying strong x .
another year, another year with no armageddon.. i have noticed the jw pals and family become more frenzied of late, small things in the news wind them up and make them more hysterical than ever.
the events in paris were horrendous, but to a jw they mean the end is near...........why wasn't it near when chechnya was in the shit?

I remember Christmas at home before my mother got us caught up in this cult. Now, I'm making up for lost time. Just bought & installed new lights on the house. I'm using the old ones to hang on the trees out front. My Christmas shopping is down to throwing cash at the wife. This seems to work pretty well. Her & her friends got up at 3:00 AM to shop on "Black Friday". Damn pagans....... -

Yes, that's me. My name is Ted Ginther. For those in the upstate western NY area, you might remember me. I was in the religion for 50 years. I was an elder at the Palmyra NY congregation. I gave a number of circuit & district convention parts. My brother, Mark, is still the CO of the Newark, NY congregation. I've been out for over 8 years. I gave a talk once on perspective. On how the first thing you do when you hang a picture is stand back & see if it aligns with it's surroundings. So too today I recommend those still in do the same thing. Stand back & inspect the world you have become so focused on & ask the hard questions. I'll be happy to help you find your way out.

Kingdom Farm in S Lansing NY sold for 2.8 million in March, 2015 - news article
by dropoffyourkeylee inthis is probably old news and was commented about in early 2015, but the ithaca news reported on the 3/15 sale of kingdom farm in s lansing ny.
this is the property that was directly across the road from the old gilead site, which had sold a number of years ago.
but about 500 acres still was operated by the jws as kingdom farm.

I live 45 minutes from Lansing, NY. I should check & see if they're selling off the equipment. -

ATT: WARNING
by EJ257 inplease be aware of everything that is happening around the world at this moment in time.
this goes to anyone, ex-communicated, removed, serving, believer and non.
at this point in my observations i have realized many religions/ideologies know there is some sort "end of time" or a transition into a new order of living in this earth.

Come EJ; Grow a set of balls & give us, at least, a general time period. A week or month? Maybe several. Don't cut yourself short, not that we would ever laugh & ridicule you as we have the other numerous end time prophets that have come & gone on this site. Here's a definite sign of the end; the Buffalo Bills win the Superbowl.......

Matthew 24 - "This Generation": If you are a Jehovahs Witness that dares to study the Bible itself...
by defender of truth inrather than just rely on the watchtower's latest opinions... are you ready?.
1) please read this article:.
2) if you are offended by the article's title, read this page for an explanation of what the phrase means, then go back and read it:.

Jesus' warning of Jerusalem's destruction came within his belief of what a "generation" was. Those that heard the warning in 33 AD were still alive in 70 AD to benefit from it. Of what value would the warning have been if all those he warned had fallen asleep in death? So the question begs an answer; Who do you follow? Words of Jesus or the opinions of men? All this leads back to the absolute fact that 1914 was the beginning or ending of NOTHING. And you have wasted your life (if still in) following men. Which, if you are following WT teaching, means you're still in the Gentile Times. Which means the one true religion is not here. Nor is Jesus' kingdom. Which means, all existing religions are false. Which means you are in a false religion, actually a part of "Babylon the Great". Which means you should follow Biblical directive to "get out of her my people". How's that for circular reasoning? -

Need advice
by Darkknight757 inhi.i've been pouring over this site for the past few days looking for some advice and i hope there is someone here that can help a guy out.
i'm desperate.....short bio: i came into the organization after high school and shortly after married a wonderful girl who was born-in.we have been happily married now for nearly 20 years and things were well until 2015 hit.
by the way, i currently serve as an elder and have the ""privilege"" of being the "watchtower overseer".. either here nor there, we were told we would never have children but late last year my wife became prego!!

I too, as many others here served as an elder. Gradual fading is typically is the most effective way to leave. Ask your wife her feelings about the WBTS. Avoid the overwhelming desire to throw everything at her at once. This is a long term process; give it time. Try to come to a consensus of what you two really believe to be true & go from there. Good luck. -

Money woes show it ain't the truth
by OnTheWayOut injehovahs people do not beg for money.
[...] we have never considered it proper to solicit money for the lords cause, after the common custom .
it is our judgment that money raised by the various begging devices in the name of our lord is offensive, unacceptable to him, and does not bring his blessing either upon the givers or the work accomplished.

Never miss an opportunity to reverse witness. I use the " I'm familiar with you religion & have just a couple of questions..." I never leave them on the defensive rather I want to get them to think. I know the odds are low but it just makes me feel good to redeem myself from all the crap I tried to shove down every else's throat for 50 yrs. -

Prayer Question I Had After Sundays Watchtower...
by freemindfade inwhile i was sitting through another grueling watchtower, dying from my brain being turned into cult pudding, i had this thought after i heard this read: .
when we express our most intimate thoughts to god in prayer, he may answer us through a bible passage, an article in a magazine, or an encouraging word from a fellow believer.

I prayed fervently to God to wreak his mighty vengeance against the Giants on Sunday & justify my beliefs that the Buffalo Bills would be on their way to the Superbowl. But, alas, I must not have prayed enough. Had I only sacrificed my firstborn. ( She's not my favorite anyway) I most assuredly would have come away with a win. What does God want? Please email me with your requirements for a guaranteed win next Sunday. ( I have more kids)
