in short:- tight pants is no longer just a am3 hang up (or is that a hang up on the well hung?

)- brothers who have effeminate body language are flagged up- as are sisters with 'masculine' hair styles or dress- such dress is 'disturbing to the congregation'- the above must heed the (repeated) counsel from the elders...or they get stripped of the right to share on the ministry- however...this will not be revealed (announced) to the congregation.

The CO outline also mentions "bearing." So this includes going after people for their posture, the way they stand, sit & walk--all subjectively determined.

i respectfully disagree with Simon's approach on this. This now gives elders official license directly from headquarters to bully. I had an elder at a former hall who loved going after guys & asking them if they were gay. He had a pet peeve. Now that ToMo3 has made his own personal pet peeves a matter of official doctrinal policy, it's open season on everyone. And the fact they're targeting such a volatile & sensitive topic as gender identity in our progressive age of 2015, they're really going to look out of touch. I'm glad they're making a big deal over this, because it's going to make them look crazy. Unfortunately in the meantime, many loyal dubs are going to experience very damaging bullying.

Neglect of Adolescents by the WTBTS - Excellent Article

i have been thinking a lot about the lack of support, judgement and criticism of teenagers in the organisation.

i am dealing with the fallout of these policies with my two adolescents...i found this excellent article this morning which is worth a read for anyone interested in this topic - see the links below but first i also wanted to add my own bugbear, forgive the rant: .

a key factor which isn't mentioned in the article is the 'bad association' rule and it's extended application.

it was a complaint.. we all know that with 'new light(tm)' that the watchtower corporation's version of 'religion' has kept changing for a long time.

since i remember.....and i go back a long way too.

I always feel for the old-timers; some even widows & widowers. Now old with limited fixed income, the main source of spiritual food is online. How are they expected to get modern TVs with HDMI, subscribe to Roku, get a tablet or computer--then learn how to use it? I've seen nothing in any recent articles about special arrangements for them to learn the new tech or even meet & view the monthly broadcasts.

And for any older folks who feel left behind at the latest rebranding, they can't complain. Since 2007/08, there are paragraphs in WT articles subtly hinting at massive changes and how we must accept them even if they don't make sense from a human standpoint. The bOrg has known and been planning all of this for 7 or 8 years now.

How to survive an assembly

hey i was just wondering if you guys had any ideas on how to keep my brain occupied while i'm at an assembly tommorow.

maybe besides tallying the number of times they say jehovah and jesus or counting how many people are wearing red.

i want to keep myself from going insane or having some kind of panic attack lol.

Poor kid probably can't see any of our suggestions at the moment. It's only just now time for mid morning song & announcements ("you may be seated").

Side note: I just woke up half an hour ago. Love my sleep-in Sundays.

this issue contains the study articles for february 29 to april 3, 2016.. what about the number of those partaking at the memorial?12, 13. why should we not worry about the number of those who eat the bread and drink the wine at the memorial?12 in recent years, we have seen an increase in the number of those partaking at the memorial of christs death.

that trend contrasts with the decrease in the number of partakers that we saw for many decades.

So there's going to be a mass disassociation in December 2016. Given all the other recent and scandalous developments, that makes sense!

Now, we have this insulting January WT study article about how crazy newly anointed people must be.

Guys. Let's make 2016 count. Why not drive a few towns over and attend memorial where no one will recognize you next spring (2016)? The only difference is, we ALL partake.

Imagine a spike in memorial attendance, a spike in anointed followed by the mass DA campaign. Anyone else wanna show how much the TTATT folks can manipulate their data? Uhh? Whadya say?

Annulment of baptism for a minor?

i've seen references to baptism annulment on a few websites, does anyone know if there has ever been a successful annulment of a baptism?.

eg.

a minor claims they didn't understand a key wtbts teaching prior to baptism, is there any realistic chance of annulment?

Not a chance. They don't have new initiates go through 150 question interrogations for nothing. All they have to say is "how did they qualify after the heavy screening process if they 'didn't know' what they were gettin in to?"

ok. when i first looked at the cover of this issue of awake i was instantly struck on how creepy it looked.

my first impressions were the picture looked almost masonic in nature.

well, further investigation has led me to another picture that shows a grand masonic hall.

Jefferson was not a mason. And he simply removed all the supernatural/miracle stories from the New Testament. Jefferson was pretty much a skeptic; deist at most.

Freemasons are not satan worshipping reptiles. It's easy to malign them and sexy to extrapolate NWO conspiracies. Beyond that, it's tempting to look for connections between masons and WTBS. But the real focus should be the harm done by modern day WT policies. Daydreaming about what "appears to be" can actually look a bit looney & paranoid.

even with the new rebranding/softening of this religion, i still don't see how people can believe in him.
