  this is one of the most aggressive watchtowers i think i have ever read.. four study articles on not "following the crowd" not following unrealities(page 13) not following false teachers, meaning apostates of course(p 15).

  avoiding false teachers means "refusing to read their literature, watch tv programs that feature them, examine their web sites, or add comments to their blogs.

  james olsen and richaed wheellock both bethelites.. rich templet.

  rich and james out of guilt, richard out of depression.. james and rich were both under 30 years old.. after richard wheelock (a bethel heavy) killed himself the society changed it's stand on whether suicides could be resurrectioned or not..

  but on the subject of reallife jdub suicides, i know of 1 attempt and 1 success.

  but this question is i guess personal.

  for those her were born into the jdub religion, why did you leave at whatever point?

  i was a born in who knew i done with it at 12 and left at 15 years old. abusive family was the trigger.

  then i went back when i turned 20 because i had emotional damage from leaving so young. this move ruined my relationship at the time and broke a girl's heart.

  then i left after a year cause i realized i screwed up. tried to patch up the old relationship to no avail.

  then at 26 i went back on my own to learn and finally be good.

  but i like cannabis so it was a sticky slope to conquer.

  but i quit and became the most seflf rightous jdub out there. i wanted to be an elder NOW!

  i was so confident that one day i searched the internet

  "how to stump a jehovahs witness at your door"

  i followed the link because "nobody is gonna stump me at the door! " i figured i'd learn their angle and figure out how to "be all things to all people" to get them to understand the "truth".

  then i started reading and learning and i became terrified as everything i trusted melted before my eyes...

  but then i kept learning and understanding and reading all books ment to be in the bible, and ones that are not supposed to be in there too.

  then i tried to tell my parents about what i learned.

  and i learned "too much".

  i left because i was so overzealous i figured out the truth from the lies.

  god gave all seed bearing herbs for my use. he said it twice.

  How would the mind handle eternal torture in Hell?

  from what we know of the human brain how would it react to the stimuli of, say, 1000 years of burning alive?

  what does a a mind that is used to burning as an existence act like?

  would they eventually be able to stop screaming in pain on their own.

  i just finished reading "The Gosple of Nicodimas" or otherwise known as "The Acts of Pontius Pilate"

  remember in the bible when jesus died and the earthquake and the memorial tombs were opened and the resurrected saints walked around? matt27.52

  well, they interview one of these resurrected saints in that book. and he tells you about hell and jesus coming down with power and authority and leading a bunch of the holy ones out of hell.

  chapter 13. gives a neat picture of hell.

  and a good arguement between satan and beelzebub

  How to get baptised properly....

  who today is elegible to baptise others?

  i want to get baptised.

  but i don't know who is doing it properly now a days.. i thought the jdubs were the correct baptisers, but research showed that the jdubs baptise you to an organization, not to god.. i hated the questions, the time period it took to qualify and the whole bunch of crap.. .

  so as far as i can tell, the rules are as follows:

  you have to admit you are a sinner and are repentant of your sins and will try REALLY hard to not repeat those offences anymore.

  you have to be baptised in the name of the father the son and the holy spirit/ghost.

  then there are technical things like having flowing water, or if not then in a pool and if no pool then 3 sprinkles on the head.

  and that the baptiser and baptiseee should fast beforehand.

  who qualifies as a baptiser?

  i don't want to join a church or go on any waiting period. i just want to get dunked like jesus and see what happens from there.

  but who qualifies to dunk me?

  does it matter more about the person getting dunked than the dunker?

  what if two people found a bible, learned about baptism and said to eachother "can i dunk you without me being dunked first?" and what if there was nobody else to do it? would they be guilty of failure to be baptised?

  these thoughts make me wonder.

  ok i'm sure this has been talked to death... but since we have a thread saying we're missing a good debate here we go..... when the bible meant something to me way back when .....even then i pondered.... god starts off as this vengeful being..."listen to me or i'll lay your soul to waste".

  to his enemies ....keep your distance or you will feel the wrath of yahweh or if i want what you have ....best leave now unless any of you men wanna die.

  then overnight.. he is patient, loving, kind, his son says love they neighbor.

  do you think god KNEW how to deal with imperfect beings?

  do you think god could predict what a imperfect humans would do when left to their own reasoning? remember babel?

  god had a perfect world before we fell from perfection.

  he gave laws to guide his followers and he told them beforehand of consequences of disobediance.

  it's like dealing with twins. one came out normal and one came out with a mental defect. they won't act the same. the normal one will listen and be obediant but the mentally challanged one just won't behave properly.

  once jesus came down here and got a human perspective, god understood us a little better and was more forgiving to us.

  we are the mentally challanged children.

  according to jw bible chronology , adam was created some 6000 years before 1975 & as armageddon hasn't arrived yet , he has been alone for all the equivalent years since then (despite the wtbts claiming that adam was only on his own for just a few weeks or months.).

  luckily as a perfect man , he had no sexual desires.... .

  adam felt no desires of sex.

  adam and eve did not receive reproductive glands or bodily waste functions until a few days after being expelled out of the garden.

  adam and eve were some kind of new being, not this weak flesh we are made of.

  after they sinned, they were transformed into the forms we take today.

  all of this and more in "The First Book of Adam and Eve". google it.

  much better read than genesis.

  and since most of you don't believe genesis anyways, why not open your mind to another version of the story.

  so what kind of people are drawn to the jehovah's witnesses?mostly i'd say unhappy ones!

  i look back at my life, and say it was my unhappy mother, who infected our family.

  my mother did the same thing.

  she came from an abusive house, and when her mother committed suicide the jdubs came knocking with the good news of resurrection.

  and my father put up little resistance. my mom ran the household. my father was also pussywhipped.

  thankfully only 4 souls have been taken by the jdubs. unfortunally, they are my immediate family.

  don't we all wish to get that phonecall one day
