10 years ago i stopped attending jehovah's witness meetings for good.

walked out of the kingdom hall cold turkey never to return based on injustices i observed among others and myself at the hands of elders giving out not god's counsel but personal opinions as counsel .

some of them weren't even giving out wt society counsel- just personal opinions.

Hi, All! I haven't been on the board for a while..... BUT, FLIPPER, THIS IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!

It just amazes me how we all came out of Babylon........ er, Jehovah's Witness and have been able to actually SEE and UNDERSTAND what we were in.... A FREAKN CULT! I take my hat off to this post, Flip, as it is to a tee. It's so sad to see ones STILL so deep in. But, as time has passed (as I haven't been a part of the cult in over 7 years, now...) I listen and look at what 'people' need: THEY NEED SOMETHING/ANYTHING to believe in.......ANYTHING.

I attended the assembly a few weeks ago with my kids. It was something to see! The friends that were in their 40's, 50's back when I was in in my late teen and 20's looked like ( I hate to say it....) The Walking Dead. The ones back in the day that had 'LIFE' to live for, looking that this New Order would be here by now look horrible....just hanging on for dear life.............20 YEARS, LATER!!!

Just sad. An "existence' and you call that 'happy'. ...smh...

ELDERS STEPPING DOWN

I, too believe, that they do not wish for these "elders" to step down. Be it needs of the family or brithers just becoming disenchanted with the BORG, the beans will eventually spill. A few brothers that i know personally that have 'stepped down', in the beginning, would never tell of the inner machinations of the Borg.. As time went on, they did began to 'spill the beans'.

And, when I say, "spill the beans", I mean it. I am sooooooooooo glad that my eyes have been opened and now know that I was correct with my decision all along.

I would like to say CONGRATS to whomever this brother is that youtubed this!!! VERY HEARTFELT and TRUE!!! If any of you have read my posts in the past, you will find the connection that I have with this blog. The problem with MY husband is, HE COULD NEVER STAND UP FOR ME OUR FOR OUR IMMEDIATE FAMILY. We started having medical issues with our son after he was born and he let the different elders just 'steamroll' me. I was told, "I wasn't relying on Jehovah enough because I could no longer spend the hours in FS, be a true elder's wife and support congregation activities." I would come to the hall tattered, ragged, unshowered at time, shoes not matching, etc, etc. I suffered. Brothers who weren't my husband had to stand up for me.

I will ALWAYS & FERVENTLY believe that this religion and it's politics have been to the ruination of my marriage, my family and many others I know of. Believe in Jehovah, but, one would have to have his/her own common-sense when it comes to the rule/regulations of this religion. I have come to have great disrespect and no faith, no love in my husband. Due to his youth when being appointed as elder had caused him to become arrogant and pompous. He treated the kids and I like scum, yes, in the name of this religion.

I wished that this video was available to us 20 years ago. To help him see there would not have been a thing wrong instanding up for yourself or your family. To put aside something that, at the time is not so important, that you can come back to it later and that JEHOVAH would understand. Forget HUMANS!!! But, now, he is no longer an elder, I and the kids have moved on and are doing great w/out him in our lives.

KUDOS to the good brothers who have STEPPED-UP to be a beacon of light and source of refreshment for your families and for ones in the congregations who have no one else to lean on!!!!

@CONFUSEDANDALONE - I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO with you on that one!!!

I visited the Sunday part of the "ASS-embly". These "mofos" are bilking out COMPLETE control over everyone. I sat there and made every face under the sun with pure disgust!!

I cannot belive that I ever was fed this bull**** and swallowed it like it was liqiud gold!!!! The Sunday Watchtower on marriage was hideous, as hell! And the talk from the brother representing Bethel.............. he was a TRUE MOFO!!! He was so daming and had all the BORGS shaking in their pants with his talk! I swear, he looked like the guy from the J.G. Wentworth commercials. It just amazed me how in this 2013, in this 21st century that people are still amazed and in awe with this Jim Jones rhetoric!

@JW07 - EXACTLY!!! It takes a 'simple' MENTALLY DISEASED a$$h*le to give ANY of these discourses!

Another visit from the elders

so i have another visit from the elder this week.

this time they want to speak with my wife, still a believer and myself.

i think they want to know my position about my children attending the meetings and some other things.. while preparing myself for it i though of a challenge for the elders and my wife.

Good Afternoon, All! I haven't posted in a long while. Just been really busy. I got a call today to specifically READ this blog.

PLEASE, JONO 12225........CANCEL THIS MEETING!!!! I agree with many on this board, "it is the beginning of the breakdown of your family!!!! The next step WILL be divorce!!!!!!!!!!!

This is what is called "cleaning Jehovah's house". DON'T ALLOW THEM TO COME IN AND DISRUPT YOUR FAMILY!!!! I HAVE BEEN THERE!!!

You'd be so suprised how quickly your J-dubb family will kick you to the curb, throw you under the bus and, will swear you have been taken over by the demons. My husband had gotten so that, he felt EVERY MEETING the kids were going to attend with him or when he couldn't make it he'd TRY to have other J-dubbs just "drop by" to take my children with them!!!!! Best believe, that was put to a halt immediately!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No one COMES BETWEEN ME AND MY KIDS!!!!!!

The thing is, they have to have COMPLETE and TOTAL CONTROL! IT IS A CULT!!!!

I'm begging you...........BELIEVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE!!! WHAT YOU BELIEVE IS RIGHT!!! DON'T LOSE YOUR FAMILY OVER THIS CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I grew up not fearing old age

as a teenage jw, i grew up believing that i was not going to finish high school nor would i get old and have to die like my grandparents did.

well, i did finish high school, as did my children and my grandchildren and old age has not been kind to me.

i don't like to look at pictures from 40 years ago, from a time when i was healthy and i had the goal of "stay alive till 75.

Well, my dad worked 37 years, secularly. He did "LEAVE BEHIND" my mom a VERY nice egg. We all just thought we'dnever have to utilize it. He never got to "utilize" old age/retirement.

That's what I tell my kids, "do well in life, go to college, live where you want, where you want, make mistakes, travel, travel, travel, see the world for yourself, DO NOT MARRY YOUNG, save for old age/retirement and have PLENTY OF FUN LIVING LIFE!!!!!!!!!!! Exhaust THIS LIFE!!!

"IS THIS LIFE ALL THERE IS?" YES, IT IS!!!!!! So, have PLENTY of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@LONDO 111 - Right!!!! Many of J-Dubbs I've spoken with NEVER invested in 401k!!!! Sounds stupid and unprepared but, this is what the ARROGANCE of this CULT has done to many!

@Sour Grapes - I feel for you. I hear you. That was a good way to put it. BASICALLY, BEING TAUGHT THAT AFTER YOU LEAVE THIS LIFE YOU WOULD BE WITH YOUR LOVED ONES WHO ARE AWAITING YOU IN HEAVEN.

My heart hurts for my dad. He died young (age 66) of cancer. He was angry because he was such a happy and gregarious person. Wanting the best for EVERYBODY that came into his presence. Lived a "simple" life because that's how the J-Dubbs are taught. My dad had so much damned potential to be so much more...to do so much more in life.

He was VERY angry in the days before he died. God had given him the mental capacity all the way to the end to KNOW he would be snatched away from his family. The people he loved deeeply. Knowing he would never see any of us again....

...and we will never see him ever again. I am still very angry w/this religion. It gave us all false hope.

My parents became J-Dubbs in the 1970's while in their early to mid 30's, taught they would never die and their 5 young children would never finish secular schooling in this life. We'd all be in Paradise circa...1980ish.

Well, now, dad has passed away...young. And now, mom wants to go because she misses him so badly. We all miss him.....

we're given this 'fairy-tale' as jdubbs, that when we were in our teens, 20's, 30's, and now 40''s that we would never experience sickness and old age.
