Dumb ass family moved in next door with autistic kid JEHOOVER HELP!
by Witness 007 infirst off i have no problem with the kid......his mum though is a dumb sh#t country trash kinda gal, just moved in.
right now i'm in my bedroom being blasted by 80's music.
she put a stereo in her tin shed which is next to our bedrooms, so her autistic kid can play loud music...or should i say, same f#cking song over and over again.

Some of the comments on this thread are fucking ridiculous. Retard? They'll stove your skull in if something goes agaionst their routine? Do any of you even KNOW anyone on the autism spectrum? I'm quite sure they're a hell of a lot smarter than any of you. His condition has nothing to do with the problem you're having. Same song? Big damn deal. The PROBLEM is that it's too loud & disruptive to your sanctity & peace.
YES, they like routine, and this same song business is likely part of this kid's routine. His mother ignoring it and not working with him on keeping it at a lower level is not doing her family any favors.
Call the cops if you don't get a result from talking to her.
And get your heads out of your asses. Calling people with special needs "retards" and making a GROSS generalization accusing them of assault because you throw their routine off is both offensive and shows what kind of assclowns you are.

They mentioned the band Incubus by name at a circuit assembly. Apparently an incubus is a bad thing...
ROFL! My dad had once been involved in black magic and related... he pretended to be slightly horrified by the band, as well. I couldn't tell by your comment whether you knew what an incubus was, so I took the liberty of wiki'ing it:
An incubus is a demon in male form who, according to a number of mythological and legendary traditions, lies upon sleepers, especially women, in order to have intercourse with them. Its female counterpart is the succubus.
I don't believe in demons and satan and god, so, whatever. you know? I find it quite amusiing that the band was specifically named at your CA. lol

Did YOU Actually Believe That You Would Never Die?
by minimus ineven though i was raised a witness, i was never convinced that the end would be in 1975 or even in my lifetime..

I never could envision myself living forever OR seeing the big A. It seemed too far fetched.

JW obsession....
by light_bulb inhi i'm new here.. i've been dfed for almost 2 years.
despite the usual familly problems that i have had to deal with, i found i was living life successfully... so happy to be out in the world, experiencing new things and just enjoying the freedom to be me.
i never really have too much time to worry too much about what i have left behind.

I also vote for therapy. I didn't see a therapist that specialized in cults, but I was able to get out some of my frustrations about being raised that way. It was maybe 3 sessions. Everyone is different, though.
For my local area, meetup groups for ex-JWs are all churchy, Come-to-Jesus-you-need-to-be-saved kind of groups and I'm not into that. I don't even know if I believe in God at this point. So my local meet up groups aren't right for me, but it's not a bad idea to look. Your area may have some great ones. I didn't even think of checking out yahoo groups, but I'll do that tonight.

New Literature Arrangement
by Quarterback injust recently the org has changed the literature distribution to the congregation members.. the changes are:.
1) publishers are to pick-up their mag's weekly in preparation for what they think they will use that week.
2) group conductors shall now distribute the study article of the wt, and the km.. wonder why they have changed this?.

The groups still meet for service on Sat mornings.
The cong I last attended (w/ Baltar447, my husband) was distributing the study edition the same way they do the KM. I don't know baout other congs, though. Obviously, like CoC's cong, some are not doing it that way.
I want to walk away from this and ignore it. Ugh. Maybe one day I will get to.

Things that made you cringe at "the meetings"
by i_drank_the_wine ini always cringed so hard when a "brother" or "sister" would make some overly heartfelt comment about jehovah-something, usually related to a personal experience of theirs, and get all teared up and/or start crying.. once this fringe dude that's been df'd twice now was giving a talk and kept having these long awkward pauses where he looked like he was real stressed out, then he would start up again, stutter, slip up, and repeat the process until he looked down and went "i, i just can't do this" and walked off the stage and left the hall.. it also made my spchincter pucker when a young person would give some super devotional comment on how much they love big j and whatnot, which would make the congregation all smile in their hearts and wag their heads in approval..

LOL!! I stopped commenting YEARS ago because I cried every time. No idea why other than plain anxiety. *shrug*
I hated the super spiritual comments made by 7 year olds. Like you've even got enough thought in your little brain to comprehend what you just said! You need to be playing with Barbies & legos & crap! WTF?

by Awen indear friends:.
for years now after my exit from the wtbts i have searched for god.
as i have previously mentioned in other threads i looked into many other religions, including druidry, zen and tibetan buddhism (not really a religion), asatru, native american shamanism, kemetic orthodoxy, gnosticism and pandeism.

I don't know, either. And that's ok with me. I may never know.
