  Today Is My Point of No Return - Or Is It?

  almost every night, i would get a phone call from my book study overseer, asking how i was, where i was.

  whereas witnesses, when they experience hard times, stop going to meetings?

  of course, my wife and i want to leave the witnesses, and i don't want to offend anyone in the process.

  I have to agree with Aude...I don't know about anyone else here, but I loved to go to baby showers. Remember we never celebrated anything else so going to showers, weddings, etc was socialization. So they enjoyed going to the baby shower for your wife, you have nothing to feel guilty about.

  Remember leaving is a process. You and your wife have been raised in this religion. The tape is playing in your head. You can walk away from it, but it is still there. I think the advice of having an exit plan is excellent. You will feel you have control of your life, instead of feeling like the cult has control. You don't have to play their game any longer. The ball is in your and your wife's court, not their's. Good luck and keep coming back

  the last time i posted was to advise you all of the shenannigans of my ex.

  she disappeared with my kids.

  it ended up she needed to move in with her mother for financial and personal safety issues.

  Hi Corey and welcome to the board. Your feelings are normal...I agree with the posters that told you if you don't know what to do, do nothing at all. Just because you are a father doesn't mean you have to be a husband, if you are not ready. Your child needs a father first.

  You have to get the JW tape from playing in your head. Remember it took years of brainwashing, it takes time to wash your brain clean of its influence. Come here and vent, vent, vent. You need to get the gunk out of the pit of your stomach, and the junk in your throat that makes you feel like you can't swallow. The gunk and junk is the control this cult has over its members. Keep coming back Corey. We are here for you.

  I have to say at this point I really feel sorry for her. Everyone wants a piece of her..especially if there is financial gain to be made. Let's face it how could you trust anyone. She doesn't even have an identity any longer. It is all media hype. She needs to just get away from everyone with her kids, and tell no one. I am afraid she is going to end up like Anna Nicole if someone does not intervene to help her.

  having read posts over the last few months, i have come to the conclusion that there must be alot of 'active' jw's who still regularly attend meetings/field service etc.. don't you feel that by posting your many and varied topics, usually complaining/disagreeing with the wbts, that you are being hypocritical?

  when you post your information, obtained sometimes in an questionable manner, doesn't it make you question your own underhanded actions?.

  you converse with many on this forum who are disfellowshipped/dissasociated, yet if you knew who these ones were, face to face, you would not give them the time of day!

  Leaving is a process. When you talk about how controlling this cult is it takes time, and for some staying is the only alternative for them. They are there physically, but in their minds they know that they are there to keep their families etc. Really no different then many people that attend church today. Personally, I am just glad that they are here with us.

  on speaking engagements at kingdom halls throughout the country, fathers would sometimes even offer up their daughters in marriage to him because of the prestige of his position, he said.. have any of the gals here experienced this?

  Well Wafe if you want to be married someday 35 sure is not of the age that it is now impossible. I really think most people are waiting to be around your age before they even think of marriage. When I married my second husband he was 42, never been married, or ever had children. It has been a wonderful marriage. He wasn't even interested in marriage it just happened.

  You have to get out of that JW thinking that you have to have a position to be a good marriage partner. It is who you are not what you are that is the most important thing. Hang in there...you have lots to give to anyother person.

  where we live is a very *new agey*, *earthy* area.

  when i was a witness i never thought twice about my astrological sign or how it relates to anyone else.

  here, people are always asking what my sign is and i've really been entertained by how i see patterns with people in my life and how i've noticed i'm actually attracted to certain *signs* .

  I am a Scorpio...was always afraid to read my horoscope when I was a JW, now I read it everyday. I really am surprised when I looked up my sign and read about it..I am very similiar to what it says a Scorpio is.

  "MARKED" as undesireable association because of college

  "i" who was marked as someone bad to associate with simply because i wanted to make enough to support my family and the approved professions (which our congregation was already saturated with) of window washers, carpet cleaners, janitorial services, and siding and window replacement workers did not appeal to me.

  Wow what a flashback even talking about the youth book. I have to agree with Sassy..I studied that crap with my kids, I sure hope they can now live a normal life. Geee hate the thought they we really screwed up our kids. Loved this thread it was very funny.
