JWs killed in Philippines?

i just heard this on the news, has anyone else heard it?

i can't find info about it on the web.

i think they said 6 jws were kidnapped, 2 beheaded now.

Yes Glitter, one of the articles included information about others who have been kidnapped as well. It's truly a heartbreaking situation.

"The previous Abu Sayyaf kidnapping spree ended June 7 when U.S.-trained soldiers tried to rescue the last of 102 captives: missionaries Gracia and Martin Burnham of Wichita, Kan., and Filipino nurse Ediborah Yap. Mrs. Burnham was freed, but her husband and Yap died in the battle."

Two Jehovahs Witnesses Beheaded!

muslim rebels in the southern philippines have beheaded two christian hostages, part of a group of jehovah's witnesses seized on tuesday.

the two severed heads were found by the philippines military on the remote southern island of jolo.

the army chief on jolo, brigadier general romeo tolentino, said that a note was attached to one of the heads, saying: "those who do not believe in allah will suffer the same fate.

This is very sad news. I read about it at this site. It makes mention of others who have been kidnapped and killed too. I'm with you dungbeetle.

LONDON WATCHTOWER RAIDED !!

last night our dear friend mouthy sent me an e-mail saying she recieved and e-mail from paul that the "watchtower was raided in london" please check out this url.

This is definitely just a rumor.

I emailed a friend in England and this is his reply:

"I don't believe the Watchtower here has been raided, I guess we would
have
heard by now if it had...Take it as a rumour. The Watchtower would make
more
noise than us ex's if they had been raided! You know how they like to
let
everyone know how extremely persecuted they are! Police raids would be
most
exciting for them.
I do know a friend of ours has just had a letter back from the
government
that states police have the rights to obtain criminal material that
religious organisations such as the Watchtower try to keep hidden, this
would obviously call for raids etc...maybe that's were the rumour
started."

Paul posted that it was a rumor he heard. His site is legit.

London Bethel Raided by Police

in the magazine the government that will bring paradise that the jw ladies left me last saturday, on page 18 at the bottom of the page there is a picture representing the men and women jehovah has gathered since the time of jesus who would reign in heaven with him.... cough.... in the middle of the line of faces, there is, of course, charles t. russell, coming forward, there is -- gulp -- rutherford, then knorr... is the last one, the one at the front of the line supposed to be fred franz ?.

and who is the one behind russell ?.

my family will not be attending the march.

i respect bill and what he has accomplished, but i believe that attempts to control the march and the marchers, are misplaced -- even damaging for victims of abuse -- who have been controlled enough!.

the last thing victims of abuse need is to be told to keep up appearances.

Abuser = someone who has lost SELF-control

As an abuse survivor, I want self-control; and I want others to have self-control. I don't want to get 'out of hand' and I am extremely uncomfortable with those who lose their self-control. Bill Bowen is not asking for anything unreasonable. He knows, and it seems everyone here does too, that a peaceful march will be an effective march. There will be more than the media watching; the victim's statements are just too important to lose them in rash and uncontrolled behavior. They need to be heard, not drowned out.

writerpen: I agree with your excellent illustration. After all, I don't think Mike would want the sort of demonstration he is talking about to take place at the courthouse while he is having his case heard.

Yep, that's them. I thought it rather amusing when I first saw it.

I don't know who is behind Russell, might not have been intended to be anyone we know.

I can see if my daughter will scan it in once I find it, but someone else probably will before then.

Also, did you notice how much Satan looks like Billy Graham in the Trinity brochure?

JW Family, How Do They Drive You Up The Wall?

many of us still have jw family still very much held within the congregation.

personally, i love my family but they do have this uncanny ability at times to absolutely drive me nuts in sheer exasperation.

the things particularly that really gets my goat are the following: .

I think maybe the difference in jw relatives and other religions and ordinary folks, is that the treatment is a GROUP thing. I don't know of any other religion that REQUIRES its members to be RUDE and HATEFUL to those who have left; there probably are some, I just don't know about them.

The other thing is, and someone already mentioned this, they CLAIM to be so loving and caring.....and I've known jws who are, but it's INSPITE of the org, not because of it. [Actually one I thought was just the best person in the whole world, I'm finding out is a real psycho bitch to her husband and daughter. Can we use that word on here?]

There was an article on how to treat 'faithful jws' who have df'd relatives. It counseled against ignoring them or treating them rudely and coldly, which tells you that they WERE treating them that way, otherwise why counsel against it? So when I'm out shopping with my young daughter, who is still a jw, they really have no reason to treat her like dirt just because they want to do that to me.
