What's the craziest thing someone INFORMED on you about?
by Londo111 inthe culture of jws as encouraged by the watchtower is one of informing on one another, reporting to either the elders or ones designated head.
whats the wackiest thing that someone reported on you?
im not talking about a black-and-white watchtower rule that would land you in a judicial committee, but some judgmental nonsense that someone thought they should turn you in about?.

It's kinda like living in Nazi Germany where if you didn't eat fish on Friday a neighbor would rat you out. Then the gestapo would show up to your house and question your loyalty. -

Bikinis on a beach? Sucking chocolate? Haaaa! Weird how everything is about sex to some. Sounds like the Talibán cleric who said women shouldn't eat bananas or they may become aroused. Er no, your filthy minded arse shouldn't be near bananas, cleric fella. Leave the porn alone & go get another wife you freak.
As for me, some elders wives ran and told hubbies I disrespected them when I told them to shut up and stop making fun of the clothing of those of lesser means. Got called to the room. As I finished saying their wives need to shut up & stop tormenting the poorer "friends", two could only look at their shoes and the third whose wife wasn't involved was smiling like the Cheshire cat. Oh, and I specifically said, they aren't our boss. They can busy themselves bossing & aggravating you.
No. Further. Incident. Besides, they seriously thought I was crazy. No timidity, at all. fact, the following Sunday, the eldresses and their buddies all brought in clothing for anyone who may be of need. A clothing drive of sorts. 😆
Another incident where I got the speech. The literature MS kept telling me it was his birthday. So after a couple times of him saying it, I yelled "Happy Birthday!". Just then the PO was walking by and almost fell on the floor. He starts to give me the speech. Somewhere in the middle I stopped him, and let him know MS kept telling me it was his birthday, so there. Oh just stop, we're just having some fun. The MS was standing nearby and we burst out laughing. When I turned around to leave, I heard the PO say has everyone gone crazy!?

MEXICO AND CENTRAL AMERICA: WE NEED MORE MONEY!
by avaddohn94 inthis topic was already discussed in the following thread: .
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/451530001/we-need-more-money-letter-sent-mexico-re-jw-broadcasting-may-2015.
if you don't want to go through the whole thing; basically it is about a letter that was sent by mexico's branch requiring the body of elders to modify the service meeting for this week (september 21) and the following (september 28) in order to watch (again) stephen lett's solicitation for money (may's broadcasting).. so, why a new thread?

Goodness! The poorest region in the Hemisphere where most people live on 2 dollars or less a day. In the middle of Cartel hell, gang hell, and seriously corrupt officials & police, people emigrating by the thousands a week to find work or escape roaming death squads ... and they should worry now about getting their few pesos and quetzales to Americans living in one of the most expensive US Cities to make pamphlets that will end up littering the streets or in a trash can? Great choose between food and pamphlets.
Que puta madre!
Since when is it biblical for the rich to solicit money from the poor and destitute?

I'm not so sure a bigger awakening is going to happen anymore
by bradford inwhen i left in march officially i started reading the forums here.
i had this excitement that more people would be leaving soon because of the crazy broadcasts, the crazy "new light" that the gb was dishing out, and more recently the australian royal commission lighting up geoffrey.
this past saturday i had an elder stop by to chat for the first time since i left.

Sweetheart, for most it is all they have. They've cut everyone else out of their lives at the bequest of control freaks. They have nothing and no one else.
It's like a woman married to an overly jealous husband. He has her dump all her friends and even family. If and when he becomes abusive, she has nowhere to go and no one to help her. She is isolated.

Lol!!! I liked Abraham. Guy went and slaughtered a bunch of soldiers to get Lot back. HE gave 10% of what he had to Mel and didn't take anything for himself afterwards. He certainly wasn't a punk nor a moocher. He begged God NOT to destroy the 5 Cities. He certainly wasn't a JW. -

Are you "trained" to be loyal?
by DATA-DOG ini went for the kh today for personal reasons.
it was pretty dumb, but not horrible.
anyway the speaker used a terrible, but accurate illustration in his gb approved outline.

Jesus peeps are sheep not horses. Balaam beat a donkey tho', neither the donkey nor the angel thought it was proper behavior. Just sayin' -

I came to the realization years ago that the illustrations are used by those who have no clue about the subject of which they are using. Some guy who probably has never been near a horse speaking about training one.
Of course he sounds like a numnut

Do you agreed with Ben Carson, Muslim should not become president??
by James Mixon ini do believe islam conflicts with constitution.
your thoughts.

The Constitution doesn't care what religion a President is, it only cares that the Country is not under the control of any religion (or Church). The founders were ensuring that the US wouldn't be similar to Europe (at the time) where the Church controlled the State(s) and it's rulers, persecuted people, etc.
It had a lot to do with England it's kings getting and the then corrupt Popes & their constant meddling for their own greedy purposes. Also the Papacy could be bought in those days and Popes could give New World áreas as possessions to various princes and kings.
Once self determinant, the colonists ensured that no monarchy or Church could overrule or overtly influence elected leaders.

Wow! So he uses Abraham as an example but he completely overlooks the part where God tells him to shut up and "listen to your wife"? I do recall Sarah had a complaint.
Sounds more like a worship the man speech. No thanks.
