first off the book of enoch or at least some of it's writings we're found among the dead sea scrolls.
this to me proves that this book was as important to the jews back then as any other.
in the book a few things i noticed.
Ancient peoples had similar beliefs because it's been proven that humans spread out from one main region. Of course, they simply took those beliefs with them as they spread out ... no matter the language, it doesn't make one groups beliefs any older than another. The beginning of it is the same.
What's different is which group developed script to write it down first.

seems to be quite a few posters recently pulling down the beliefs of jw's as not biblical or truly christian.
maybe you're right, maybe you're wrong, i really don't care.. in some important ways though mainstream christians often behave better than jehovah's witnesses; most don't practice shunning or impose lethal medical prohibitions on their members.
many are far more tolerant of the lgbt community and a few even make the awkward attempt to square the fact of evolution with their faith.. please note that i'm saying some, not all.. so i suppose it's fair to say that differing forms of christianity can be better or worse for individuals, families and the wider community.
Inferior ... yes. As a form of Christianity. The lack of true charity towards other people, the lack of true brotherly love, shunning those who have not sinned against them, asking those of lesser means for money, etc. The big kicker is professing to be Christian while wholeheartedly sidelining Christ & replacing him with unworthy men.
I would say, JWs are followers of Saul, rather than Christ. Far too Mosaic Code to be Christian. They figuratively hunt and "kill" those of their brethren who may disagree. So, yes, that makes them inferior.
Also, they only have one celebration which is anything but a celebration. It's a depressing funeral ceremony (not a joyful wake/memorial).

I never gave them any money. Christ, the Apostles, et al didn't mooch. They had regular jobs and supported themselves.
"Leaders" don't mooch, CO's, DOs considered themselves 'leaders'. They certainly didn't consider themselves everyone else's equal.

The problem with JWs is they are not searching for "truth" because they claim to have already found it. For them the truth was just a lost set of keys now laying on the table. However, their keys keep changing.
