This is why they promote giving up all your non JW friendships; so you have no one if you decide to leave or simply want to openly express doubts to someone. -

New June Awake with Misleading Statements about Evidence for god
by ttdtt inthe article (faith) is all about why you should have solid evidence based reasons for belief in god.
it's not good enough to believe in god just because you were raised to believe in god.. (from the article).
but god wants those who worship him to have genuine confidence in his existence and in his love.. then it goes on to tell us how we can get that genuine confidence that there is a god.

Cute, half a verse .... again. And wt poo does 2 Tim 3:16 have to do with anything if you haven't given a semblance of reasoning for proof of existence yet? -

OKAY, GAME OVER! The number one reason the New Testament amounts to bunk
by Terry infor me, the dead giveaway is this.
jesus wrote nothing.. stop and think about that.. if jesus were the authentic messiah, his ministry would not simply be local.. his instructions, his mission, the details of his teachings would be too precious to risk leaving it in the hands of "men unlettered (illiterate) and ordinary (blue-collar yokels).".
jesus, were he the one and only hope of mankind, would be absolutely certain to write down with great simplicity and specificity the exact owner's manual necessary to rescue mankind.. never happened!.

Imo, it's better to have witnesses write accounts of your actions than yourself. I think Jesus writing his own account of performing acts considered unearthly, quite vain. It would be akin to me writing an autobiography on how everybody's poop but mine stinks.
Anyone can say great things about themself. However, it's far more convincing if strangers, friends, enemies, etc say/write great things about you.
The difference between Middle Eastern thought and Western thought is that words come second to actions. People don't learn by words, they learn by example. People don't make choices based on words, they do so based on variations of examples in their lives.
Anyhow, as for illiteracy, I don't think such existed in Hebrew males. They all had to be able to do basic Torah reading. They could walk into a synagogue, read a verse, give a thought on it, and leave. Or get called upon to read a verse. Mass illiteracy is a Western trait (outside of ancient Rome and Greece). It was purposeful in those societies for control.
(Even the Ethiopian Philip wondered upon could read.)

Help finding a video of GB member saying that Jehovah may not really be God's name
by mamacita29 inhi everyone i'm at work and need to show this video to a jw.
i saw it a few weeks ago i think it was geoffry jackson who said that jehovah may or may not be gods real name but we use it anyways.
can someone help me find that video?

Meh, they have no business using "the name" anyway. It isn't supposed to be used. Where does Jesus use it? Nowhere. Besides, Christians aren't 'witnesses' of Jehovah, they are supposed to be witnesses of Christ. Such numbnutz.
As for hiding, BS, the KJV had it long before Russell existed.
Like another poster said, if you call me by a name that isn't mine, I won't answer you ... you're obviously not talking to me.

Did you get " Counseled " about the Music you Listened to While you were a JW ?
by flipper infrom the time i was a small boy - i loved rock n' roll music.
beatles, rolling stones, led zeppelin, hendrix.
i started getting slighted for the music i listened to as i lay in my bedroom listening on headphones to led zeppelin's song " black dog " at age 14 with my elder dad looking suspiciously at me as i'm rocking out .

Something isnt quite right.
by atomant inl was wondering if others get the feeling that the world we live in seems not quite right.l can not pin point anything specific but since childhood days l often get the feeling something isn;t correct.you know the feeling of deja vu.
am l the only one to feel this way?ld love to hear from others and any storys they may have.having been raised in the jdubs maybe lm just suffering mild bouts of paranoia .

Yes. I know the feeling. Something isn't right with the world. Human life means less than nothing while tree pulp and pretty rocks mean everything.
Certain humanoids make life miserable for others for the sole purpose of: possessing "bling". I don't think it's a new thing but it is what's wrong with this orb.

According to them, only the 'annointed' have HS. Everyone else is fine.
Ephesians 4:30 KJV
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are "sealed" unto the day of redemption.
His video session doesn't apply to 98% of JWs. .... You can't grieve what you don't have.

The pyramids and rutherford.......
by atomant inlve been researching the early days of the jw"s and found some very damning information which needs to be discussed at length.according to my research it is claimed that early founders used the pyramids to work out important biblical dates that are now dates set in stone according to the beliefs of the sect and can not be changed as it would rock the very foundation upon which their beliefs are built.l was hoping for somone with a precise understanding to please elaborate whether this is true or not.

Remember, they were in NY during the time that Egyptology was a big rave in the US. (They even stuck an obelisk in NYC.) For some silly reason, the Bible students and even the Mormon Smith were all stuck on Egypt being some key to the Bible. For the bible students, it was about calculating the date for the rapture.
All moon bat crazy New Yorkers obsessed with Egypt and astrology. Recall that whole god lives in Pleiades silliness?
