1. I am me
2. No one believes as I do, they are not me.
3. I don't. It is not important if people believe as I do. My beliefs can only be mine.
i was recently thinking before i became " mike" i was an innocent baby, then as the days passed slowly by, i developed a sence of " iam".
as the days moved forward my body, slowly developed a a "sex organ" whilst my mind took on a sence of " emotional" and " intellectual" i am" .
this allowed me to become my current " i am?.

being brought up as a jehovah's witness means you are so used to the term that you rarely stop to think about it.. one thing i've noticed is that people unfamiliar with the religion will say "jehovah witness" (no 's) instead which i always found a bit grating.. but watching the us election, something struck me.
people are often referred to as "trump supporters", not "trump's supporters" and so on.
thinking about other things, people would say they were "united fan's", not "united's fans" and so on.. it seems weird that a group would refer to themselves as though it was someone else talking about them (in the 3rd person, if i have that right).. what do you think?
I simply used to say Cristian when asked about religion.
JW is a sect of Christianity just like Anglican, Methodist, Catholicism, etc, it isn't "the" religion.
If God purposed us to be called Christian then that's it.
according to the watchtower society, which event marked the start of the "70 years".
on which day and month did that event occur?.
You'll probably have to read some of Nelson Barbour's (Millerite) writings as he was Russell's friend and contemporary that did most of the time calculations. They later split because of the "invisible presence" thingy.
From what I've noted, Barbour and Miller liked to start their calculations from 539.

Likely it's made up and no one can find the answer to it. Who even knows the calender used to calculate such timelines. I don't think Russell or Rutherford et al sat down with a couple rabbis to get a clearer view of Jewish historical events, calendars in use, and dating.
I'll have to check out Russells writings to see if he may specifically allude to the calculation. Ugh! It's like reading the ramblings of a 6 personality schizophrenic.
how is everybody doing?.
it's been 8 months since i've been here.. so many newbies!.
lol.. sylvia.
has anyone noticed that witnesses (from the top down) seem to have a quiet form of smug arrogance toward all non witnesses?.
perhaps it comes from being told how "special and unique" they are but they end up looking down on all normal members of the community because they are not witnesses.. so any form of "love" they show those in the territory is also limited as long as they accept the message...otherwise they are viewed contemptuously as "worldly" and therefore of little value...after all, they will be destroyed right?.
I think it comes from constantly being told to dislike or hate "the world" everything and just about everyone in it. Keep your kids away from non JW kids or "bad influence". Don't look for higher education or "bad decision, waste of time". Higher paying job? Bad, money loving materialistic "weak" one!
It's all bad and below "our" standards. So sure, most are gonna think they're better than "worldly" people because those people are said over and over again to be "below standards".
Internally, I think it comes from the same thing. 'We were picked to be elders because we're above average and the others are only average.' They're told they are "more qualified" than the others among us. It's an "I'm not the one being decided on, I'm the one doing the deciding" thought process. Plus that whole, I know stuff you'll never get to know attitude that adds a level of arrogance.
i want to spare you a long post about my background.
because this topic is about something else.a small information is that i knew ttatt before i got married.
but then i somehow pushed it back for quite some time because i didnt want to change my life and it was convenient to instantly meet new people when you move into a new city.couple of years into my marriage and seeing all the changes in the jw my thirst for ttatt resurfaced.
That sucks!!!! Without the JW smothering her real personality came out. That's the thing with JWs, you don't know who they really are because the real them is being surpressed. It's not a 'new personality', it's a fake one.
Sucks but I think it's best that you know who she really is as opposed to who she pretended to be.
our world is about to change big time.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnuyctuzjpm.

Yep OTWO, do to them as they do to you. "The Golden Rule."
If they say I need to wait on Jah to provide for me, then they can do the same.
