Exactly how are they proposing to stop anyone from doing what they believe is a commandment from God? I mean seriously.
It's not dress only, if a brother is deemed 'efeminate' ... who's making thesender determinations on what is efeminate or butch? The guys still stuck in the 1950s?

Lurking JWs: Do people really need to know and use the word "Jehovah" or other language equivalents, to truly know God?
by Island Man inwatchtower puts forth the argument that you can't really know god unless you know and use the appellation "jehovah" or its equivalent in other languages.
is this really true?
i say it's not true and i will demonstrate to you why.. god's name is not a mere label that we have to use to communicate with him so that he knows we're talking to him.

Not a lurker but, no. One only needs to ask oneself:
Did Christ or his disciples run around using "Jehovah" all willy nilly? Or did they, like all Hebrews of their time use "heavenly Father"? (Something sacred isn't for every day use.)
Was that the name given to all through which we must get saved or something?
In what name did the Apostles and disciples heal and expel demons?
What name were they threatened about using?
What name were the early Christians proclaiming throughout their world?
Who the hell calls their father by his first name except disrespectful children?
Also, that name "Jehovah" isn't even correct. There are no "j's" in any branch of Syriac languages. It's like you continuously calling someone named Frank, Stanley. How annoying is that for Frank?
Just because you'd like to say his name that way does not make it his name. That has got to be ever soooo annoying.

Old Relative Not Happy About Push To Use Ipads Etc
by disillusioned 2 ini was in a close relatives house yesterday and she was having angry and resentful at the push to use electronic devices at the meetings.
she was talking to another relative of mine who has just got an ipad to use.
this relative of mine is very elderly and obviously prefers to use her bible and other books.

People in general don't like change. The oldz really don't like it, which is why the GB is still stuck in 1950 when it comes to most things.
I'm a techie but I definitely understand rather having a book in the hand than a computer device. Who wants to stare at a screen while reading for hours? Who wants to fool with little keyboards? Annnnd, if I'm into a good read, I want to be able to keep reading in the bathtub or the toilet or outside under a tree and not have to worry about battery issues or electric shock.

Funny stories how u got caught while secretly smoking
by Gefangene inhey folks.
to those of you who were secrely smoking while being a jw how did your cover get blown?
do you have any funny stories to share even if at that time they may not have been funny at all due to impending consequences.

There's a prohibition on smoking only because Rutherford's nephew "supposedly" died of it. If not for that no one would have cared if anyone smoked.

Demon possesion, bunch of crap or?
by raven ini've been using the forum to vent and post a lot more frequently lately as a venting purpose & way to obtain peace of mind with the craziness i've been going through recently as i fade away form the org.
anyways today i'm sitting here at work and thinking to myself about demons... ok i know this sounds crazy but has anyone else out there been traumatized by the thought of demons?
i had a dream the other night, just flat out spooky and i woke and couldn't help but feeling it may have been evil ole' satan and his demons at it again.. i don't want to believe that, (trying not to, & just brushing it under the rug so to speak) but have any of you out there been talked up about demons?

I don't know about you dreams but this one thing is fact: Nowhere absolutely nowhere in the Bible do demons possess inanimate objects.

"They trampled on my humility."
by Zoos init's rare that i bump into someone from the old hall.
but it happened yesterday with one of the nicest brothers i remember.. he came into my place of work not knowing i worked there.
my company is now on his delivery route.

Zoos, they have no Holy Spirit. They have no mind of Christ. They have no mercy. They have no authority. Having been forgiven much themselves through Christ, they like the guy who was forgiven much but owed a little, beat their fellows and don't forgive.
IGNORE them. In the end they get thrown into prison .... where they belong.
Wing Commander, they are self proclaimed "Princes". They have no gifts of prophesy or healing. They have no proof they are Princes..
Jesus' example of the Prodigal's son. He didn't have to frigging beg. The prostitute didn't have to beg. No one had to beg some STUPID human guy.

Beards - September 2016 Watchtower
by Listener inthe issue of whether beards are acceptable or not is addressed in the september 2016 watchtower - well sort of.
it is as clear as mud as to whether they are allowed in places like australia, usa and britain.. 17. what are some factors that may affect whether a brother wears a beard?17 what about the propriety of brothers wearing a beard?
the mosaic law required men to wear a beard.
-
Lieu
Lol!!!!!!!
In one section, "Christians are not under Mosaic Law nor are they obliged to observe it." (We don't want you to have a beard, you don't have to follow the Law)
Next section, "The Law showed...." ( God is not pleased with unisex, so we don't want you to wear it, follow the Law)
*sigh

WT September 2016: Tight Pants (Does your style of dress Glorify God?
by Designer Stubble inwe will not weigh you down with burdensome lists, as you have the freedom to choose, but here is our list anyway.some snippets:.
the law showed jehovah’s strong feelings against clothing that does not make clear the distinction between male and female—what has been described in our day as unisex fashion.
(read deuteronomy 22:5.

...our brothers and sisters appreciate it when we refrain from wearing clothes that are so tight or so loose that they are revealing.
Is that so? And who told YOU what I do or don't appreciate? Did I miss a questionaire?
Deuteronomy says???? Er, yeah for ancient Israelites; so you could tell which dress was for a man and which dress was for a woman. That Law Code. You don't get to pick and choose with that code for modern application; it's ALL or NONE. No one has to marry their rapist. So guess what? NONE.
Stop trying to reinstate what Christ's death has "fulfilled". Besides, we can tell which pants suits are for men and which pants suits are for women.
All this because of ONE members personal dislikes. It's such a stupid thing to be focused on.
