So what do ya'll think about the recent new light?
by stillin9 inyou know, the thing they were talking about in the 2011 dc.
it was about how the "toes" of daniel's image no longer represent all the individual governments that have come around in human history.
and that the anglo-american world power is the last world power we'll see before the end of the system of things.

I think the new light just converted over to a strobe light........................................

Watching the Leadership Crumble
by Damn The Watchtower ini watch the watchtower leaders crumble, slowly crumble.
one nonsensical move after the other.
you have no idea how this makes me feel.

I like to add that the Watchtower Society takes Jerimmiah 10:23 totally out of context, in God's Word Translation published in 1995 this translation reads:
O LORD, I know that the way humans act is not under their control. Humans do not direct their steps as they walk
What that scripture means is only the Lord is the only one who is there for each individual person, the governing body trys to take that place and control people, one human cannot control another human on how to serve God its just each of us individually that God is there for each of us.

Matthew 24:14 is an energy source
by sabastious inrewind to the great disappointment.. the bible at the time, at least where i come from, was very revered amongst almost any demographic.
a real source of energy if one could only "explain it.".
i'd be willing to bet that matthew 24:14 was used, as it still is today, as a means to measure groups that were attempting to organize and preach the gospel.. matthew 24:14 - and this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.. questions that may have been asked about groups of that day:.

I agree when reading the bible a person needs set their mindset back to the 1st century, in the 1st century there was not an availablity of books, the gospel was preached in a different way, also today there are many different ways that the gospel is preached besides just the bible, I am more into volunteer type work, the non denominational church that I started attending has alot of volunteer programs to help out around the community.

What was something that you loved but were denied as a JW?
by Chemical Emotions ini could go on and on about all the things i loved, but i'll keep it brief and just mention one, rather trivial thing: music.
i love grunge and punk, and occasionally heavy metal, and can't listen to a lot of it as a witness..

I can go out and meet all the women out there now:) Don't have to be worried about getting "caught"

I'm scared sometimes that the WTBTS might be right about everything.
by Chemical Emotions ini wake up thinking: what if my boyfriend and i die a terrifying death during armageddon?
with no hope of any life afterwards?.
do any of you ever feel that way?.

Like shel54001 said you need to do mega research, examine everything in all angles, theres so many facts that stack up against the Watchtower organization that they are false, remember all they are is a printing company, in Febraruy was when my blindfolds came off and immediatly I accepted Jesus as my savior, it took me about 6 months of very hard work to get every bit of the Watchtower out of my head, I can say once you cross over that line where every bit of watchtower is out of your head its so much more of a better world outside of the watchtower, everyone at work tells me that I have changed, they tell me I am not quite as depressed, every day I feel like I am on top of the world, I do have my moments sometimes where I get mental flashbacks and have really bad anxiety but all that is starting to get lesser and lesser the anxiety, I can say one thing for sure my mind has gone from an old system to the new system:)

There is no social programme in exsistance that recommends shunning as a means of rehabilitation
by jambon1 incan someone tell the wts/jw's how utterly counter productive & cruel shunning is?.
apart from serious crimes where a person might conscientiously have nothing to do with a friend/relative, people who are struggling with any kind of issues generally need love, support & kindness.. shunning is unnecessary, evil & humiliating.. does the punishment really fit the crime?
someone caves into the 'sins of the flesh' so they are cut off from all human contact with everyone they know?.
-
andys
To illustrate how cruel shunning is, lets say someone has a drinking problem and gets disfellowshipped and all contact cut off, thats not going to help the drinking problem its only going to make it worse, what people really need to do is when someone has a problem is be there for them, also make sure that person gets the help they need to overcome the problem, people need a support system to get through any difficulty.

I decided not to go to the IFB church I been attending
by andys ini have been going to an ifb baptist type church for about past 3 months, i started going in march and have decided to quit going, need advice on how to send them a letter i don't want to go anymore, its a soulwinning, king james onlyism type church, wow are they ever putting pressure on me to be in church every time the doors are open, i explain to them that i work alot of overtime, have my own home to take care of, also i have my ham radio hobby that i am involved in and also like to do volunteer type work, since i been missing alot of church every sunday i get a phone call from the pastor on why i wasn't in church, now i am to the point where i don't even answer my phone anymore when they call, but wow the pressure, its very irritating how legalistic church attendance for certain churches has gotten.. .
on the other hand i have decided that i still want to go to some sort of church, for a very short time in februiary i was going to a communicty type church where everyone is wearing something different, i noticed that alot of people wear blue jeans, even the pastor wears blue jeans, also its a non denominational type church that has alot of volunteer opportunities which i love doing, i have decided to go back to the non denomminational type church since i don't feel no pressure there.. .

The acronym stands for Independent Fundlemental Baptist and yes became a member in March, got baptized there, lately the pressure has been to be in church and do soulwinning, I have decided to write them a letter telling them I no longer want to be a member and go back to the non-denominational church, when I was going there for a short time there was no pressure to be in church.
10 meters is my favorite band:) I also am getting my Yaesu Ft-817nd ready for working the bands.
