Remember the two elderly sisters?
by John Aquila inabout a month ago i posted what had happened to two elderly sisters who were reprimanded by a couple of elders for crying because the jw broadcasting was going to be stopped at the kingdom hall and it was up to each publisher to learn how to use the internet.
if you recall the sisters got together with my mom and talked about it and it resulted in all of them declining to make meals for the pioneers.
here is the link.

Billy:
Just brown a governing body member in a skillet, then add the enclosed seasoning packet and pasta. Simmer until done.
Pfft. GB Helper is way cheesier than Hamburger Helper! That made me laugh. My, but the humor hose is giving this forum a chuckle shower tonight!

Beroean Pickets

http://meletivivlon.com/2015/05/09/may-tv-broadcast-on-tv-jw-org/.
although the guy writes some real thought provoking stuff, i sort of don't know what to make of it.

Although I don't believe a word of the bible I have visited this site several times. These gentlemen/ladies (not sure what they are and it doesn't matter) really know their scripture and are practically experts on the JW doctrine. Since atheism is rarely a good means of encouraging JW's to examine their faith in the Org, I think this site is an excellent vehicle for this purpose. In fact they are so good at using scripture and the Org's own doctrine to point out fatal flaws I can see why the Org is so concerned with the Beroean site. It's a classic case of fighting fire with fire. I support anything that threatens to undermine the Org's authority. -

Another one decides to leave
by problemaddict 2 inwell in a month where i had a friend of 20 years tell me "we can't kick it no mo" because i no longer go to meetings, i had an even older friend who is coming to visit me, call me and tell me hes out.. currently a high profile ms who gives talks out all over the place, the elders said they are recommending him for appt to the body in sep when the co is coming through.
but nope......hes about to step down all together.. what did it?
because i am not disfellowshipped, and soft peddle my issues with the org, i was able to speak to him about things like blood, and a couple other things.

I agree with above mentioned takes on "a moral center". Are the parents immoral? Why can't they use their own values and morals as a guide? After all isn't that part of a responsible parent's job, to instill good morals and ethics? This reeks of classic bad western parenting where the responsibility of role models are passed on to athletes, celebrities, politicians etc. so when these "role models" fail with their own morals all those that encouraged their kids to look up to them as an example are shocked and outraged. Why are they shocked? It's not their responsibility, they're your kids not theirs! What a joke. -

I don't want the Watchtower's version of paradise.
by StarTrekAngel ini am writing this in the hopes that it may help someone in a debate.
i personally have not had a chance to discuss it with anyone but that is true for most other topics.
i think is a good one to analyze.

badly handled from Elders
by Olivia Wilde ini am still attending the kh, i actually recently became aware of the ttatt, what i believed came as a huge surprised for me, i wasn't raised as a jw and have been for about 15 years.
i have always been a very open minded individual all my life always seeing both sides of any situation with logic and common sense and so i believe discovering all of the doctrines i have been taught sense 16 years of age, wasn't extremely hard for me to realize in my heart it was a lie.
well it was me discovering the watchtower society being a ngo member of the un nations for 10 years, after that the snowball just got bigger for me.

Olivia I'm sorry to hear you had to endure such awful abuse, particularly in a setting that is supposed to emulate Jesus' example of love. I'm happy you've discovered TATT and will finally be able to make a decision for your future based on your own conscience and understanding what the reality is. At least when you finally decide to leave you will no longer have to face that sort of mental abuse. Good luck and know that we're all here to help any way we can! -

I believe that the greater percentage of JWs-You Will Not Be Able to Help, no Matter What Facts You Show Them.
by John Aquila inso i ran into this brother whom ive known for a while and the conversation led into me being invited to come back to the kingdom hall.
we talked for about an hour during which time i explained to him 607 being the wrong date and a lot of other stuff including the child abuse cases in australia.
but what i wanted to relate was the last few minutes of our conversation.

Some of uou will hate what I say here but it's soley my perspective and opinion.
It is not a matter of "whatever floats your boat".
I DO have a problem with those that want to stay JWs as it's a religion that causes harm, in the same way I detest the Catholics for their inquisition. You may say that's in the past but I beg to differ. Their practice of cruel enforcement destroyed peoples and cultures who to this day suffer the after effects. Cruelty practiced now does not always stop when those practices cease - they often leave scars for generations. And that is my view of the Org. The emotional scars they inflict do not miraculously heal and if you support the Org then in my eyes you are guilty of turning a blind eye to the cruelty and even supporting it. I draw no distinction between the blame shouldered by the GB and its minions. If your're a cog in the meat grinder then you are as blood stained as any part of it.
