Thought I'd leave this here too.
2 hours agoI feel bad for the refugees, but I certainly don't envy those taking them in. Many of those Muslims may seem like innocent victims now until a cartoon making fun of Muhammad appears in the local papers. My solution would to grant them temporary asylum and as soon as it's deemed safe in their own countries, send them back again ...Of the victims caught in this awful situation, it's the kids who I getna terrible feeling in my stomach for. Children will always be the real hapless victims of disgusting behavior perpetrated by adults.

Largest amount of refugees since WW2 in Europe
by Powermetal4ever inso i had a discussion with my mother about this, and she claims that because of this that: "we are surely living in the last days right now" while i must admit myself that the situation seem chaotic, i don't want to believe that it is the last days.
so question is, how do i face an opinion like that?

I realized I hadn't payed attention to some of the questions correctly, like "you would rather have you kid grow up kind than smart" I thought it said "kind AND smart". A couple of others too. Note to self don't do quizzes after you've just woken up.
here is the result with reading questions correctly:
Still pretty close to the last result ...

Had I been brother X I would have calmly suggested he mind his own business and guard himself against jealousy.
He did good by the way!

Riley is okay.
by umbertoecho ini went looking for riley last friday and i found out exactly what i wanted to know.
i know it is not policy and all that.
i just had this strong feeling that i would find the right "someone" to tell me.. it was a receptionist (they get locked in their stations when it gets crazy) those nice thick glass booths just shut down.

The Oesophagus of the whale shark and the story of Jonah
by purrpurr inin the wt's literature it is often theorised that the "great fish" that swallowed jonah was a whale shark.
indeed looking at whale sharks with their wide huge mouths it seems reasonable to think that a human could fit in there.... ... until that is you do any research on it.
while the whales mouth is huge, it's oesophagus however is only a few inches wide.

People love,to play the victims and love rallying to victims - it earns them respect, admiration, sympathy and support from those who identify with them. Once people take it as a personal attack on their "beliefs" the facts are irrelevant compared to their feelings. As I said, like arguing with a brick. -

Time for a pope UN alternative thread!
by username inok so my searching the open to the public section of jwtalk is now bordering on obsession, it helps me appreciate everything that is wrong in this rather extreme "religion.".
so there is a thread discussing the popes visit to the un this month.
i've heard many conspiracy theories ranging from the pope announcing religion is made up and there is no god to a false flag involving aliens all to ultimately usher in the new world order under one world government!
