All It Takes Is ONE!
by John Aquila inive been reading all these posts about bethelites and special pioneers being kicked out in the street and being forced to get a job to provide for themselves..
and im trying to put myself in their situation and feel the emotions that must be going through their mind.
what if my wife and i both dropped out of school to pioneer and got married at 18. and what if we were very faithful in listening to everything the organization says.

I have zero sympathy for them. While my brother was serving his three year sentence for being a religious objector, he and his South African Bethel pals all thought it prudent to share their thoughts on my sister's promiscuity (she was raped) with their friends and family back home. When my mom took me to visit my brother while he was helping the building at the new Roodekrans Bethel, my brother, his friends and my mom couldn't wait to all huddle together and share how disappointed they all were with my sister. All his Bethelite friends were more than eager to smear her name at all the assemblies, too.
I bet you the vast majority of these "poor Bethelites" completely support the cruel practice of shunning. If shunning is ok by them, then them being thrust into the real world where they can be ridiculed and scrounge for a living is ok by me. Just like they believe DFd people get what they deserve for not being faitful to the GB, they got what they deserved for BEING faithful to the GB. Screw their self righteous asses. If they happen to have kids, then those are the only ones that get my sympathy.

Anyone have any links showing whether or not this piece of shit had aquired his firearms legally or not?
Most of you I'm sure by now know what my background is. I have stated this before and will again. Firearm laws here in the U.S. Aren't just lax, they're a joke. And this nonsene of politicians pandering to NRA members has to stop.
Too many gun owners demand their second amendment rights based on the conviction that gun ownership will ensure the government will not turn to tyrrany. They espouse how patriotic they are while at the same time voicing their distrust for their own government in extreme scenarios which frankly, make no sense. If this is the "great US, the land of the free, the leader of Democracy", why are they so certain it could turn tyrannical? They already have a weapon available to them which is far more powerful than guns for ensuring tyranny does not rear it's ugly head - it's called democratic process. If they aren't happy with their government, use it - otherwise they simply come across as a persons suffering from delusional paranoia and they of all people should NOT own a firearm.

Churches in Australia could lose millions in tax breaks under radical national faith register plan
by sherrie11 inchurches and religious organisations would lose millions of dollars in tax breaks, concessions and hand outs under a radical plan to force priests, rabbis and imams to sign up to a national faith register.
under the bold proposal clergy would for the first time be forced to undergo government-specified training and security checks and would be monitored by a national body, or risk losing government funding..
former premier ted baillieu has backed the plan that has been put to federal and state leaders including the prime ministers office, and premier daniel andrews..

I'm all for regulating and imposing a vigorous framework for monitoring religions globally. Where ministers are "teaching" doctrine and ideology and not being monitored with regard to qualification or acceptable behavior, secular teachers are constantly under scrutiny for what they are teaching children. I say put them under the same scrutiny and yes, regulate religion with enforced compliance laws. This way cults Like Scientology, the JWs etc. would find it harder to run amok. -

They'll be treated like this, see others treated like this, yet the zombies will be greatful and keep marching on into social oblivion holding their beloved JW.org banner high and proudly. Pfft whatever. Like I said before - have fun flipping burgers in the real world. -

On the realization you will not "live forever"
by problemaddict 2 insomething struck me last week.
i have been dealing with what i can only describe as a fear of death.
i'm not old and not in bad health.

We all grow up fearing death. Most people find a way to get on with healthy, productive lives by accepting an ideology which teach eternal life or come to realize that death is a natural part of life and actually serves a real purpose and helps to make one comfortable with one's own mortality. Whichever you choose, being the master of your fears will will serve you well.
