Could Have Been Worse
by Perry inleah rimini spent a lot of money before she ditched her cult: .
over the years she says she spent about $2 million for services and training courses and made another $3 million in donations.
among her expenses was $40,000 to compensate scientology for sandwiches... article.

Wifmyoumhave the opportunity to,,watch the HBO special "Severe Clear". It is the best, most comprehensive documentary ever made on the subject of Scientology. It features interviews from the top guys who left Scientology when their megalomaniac leader David Miscavige turned on them, Rhe full skinny on John Travolta and the king of assholes, Tom Cruise. It also has a lot of footage of the founder L. Ron Hubbard also being his delusional, megalomaniacal self. It is one of the most disturbing religious documentaries I have ever seen. Top guys and leaders of the Sea Org being held captive in secret buildings and physically tortured to mention one of the many shocking practices of David Miscavige. Scientologist policies make JW policy seem like a lovely walk in the park. -

I'm not sure what the laws are elsewhere, but in the US grabbing someone's camera from them can lead to a charge of misdemeanor assault. Sorry you were caught in a compromising position but as others have said, it shouldn't be difficult to squirm your way out of any grilling session with an explanation. If I were you I would relax and take it in stride. -

JWs have more good points than bad
by lsw1961 in1) many who were on the destructive path have been transformed by their teachings (this includes me who was once vicious, and presumptuous and atheistic).
2) equal monthly pay to all members of the bethel community regardless of whether they are bc members or sweepers.
this is something that still remains as an unattainable dream for the world.

All such things are exceptions. In a garden, it is natural that some weed would also come up. But this should prevent us from benefiting from the garden.Your reply is in reference to child abuse. Well sir, 1600 covered up child abuse cases in Australia alone amounts to an awful lot of weeds. Using your garden analogy, when a garden has been overrun by weeds the preferable method of dealing with the problem is to rip the entire garden up or kill the entire garden and start anew, check any horticultural website. In this case I agree, with your analogy. The entire garden needs to be destroyed so all those trapped can have their seeds of freedom have a fresh start and a chance of surviving.
Your beloved cult is as rotten as the Catholic Church who also do a lot of good, yet I guarantee you the Catholic Church gets no praise for its good works from you. I bet to you it is nothing more than a harlot feasting on the blood of the innocent? You don't see your double standards, do you? Of course not. The best cults are excellent at preventing self examination.

All points have already been adressed except one which I will adress.
You claim all JWs willingly become JWs while being well aware of the disfelloshipping/shunning policy. So ten year old children coerced into baptism are well aware of the consequences? A ten year old who barely understands why he has to be disciplined for misbehaving? Give me a break!
Not one point you made proves the JW cult is in any way special or better than any other superstitious belief out there. I hope you wake up kid (I say kid because your reasoning is on par with an infant) so you can actually enjoy a full, free life.

Haha I love fiery people. They are often the ones that once shown they've been lied to or taken advantage of, become the loudest voices for justice and truth with little regard for their own safety or situation. True warriors. -

Anyone who is willing to sacrifice something of their own to help others or fights for what is right at great risk to themselves. I would say of all heroes I hold firefighters in the highest reverence- these are guys that dont't just risk their lives for others, but even for the sake of your burning old sofa a homeless person wouldnt want, yet they're the least appreciated of all "heroes". -

My First Birthday.....
by The Marvster ini awoken today and realised immidiately i'm 44 today... and after 3 years of being out, decided to acknowledge my birthday.... i'm off out to treat myself to a big hearty breakfast with cup of tea in the local weatherspoon's by the massive pond full of weird bird-life, later today i'm giving myself a gift of a 90 minute relaxation session in a float tank down by canary wharf in london.... only really have 2 close friends (it's a slow process trusting people agian) and they probably won't be able to see me today, but i'm sure i'll have a belated surprise from them both.... the first thing i did when i remembered was to rush to the computer, connect to the web and put on stevie wonder's 'happy birthday', as i listen to it, tears stream down my face... all those years of my life stolen ' but..... i'm free....'.
