I love your topics. You certainly have a gift for making people examine with interest what would normally be regarded as mundane. Thoroughly enjoyed this thread and all the input. Thank you.
if donald trump wins the presidency, about 90% of the jws in my area will have to go back to mexico.
the watchtower will be having a fire sale on kingdom halls.
if trump became president and he followed through on his policy of sending back undocumented immigrants, would that affect the jws publisher numbers big time in the united states?

a recent letter to the elders outlined the new arrangement for delivering literature to the congregations.
the canadian branch will be downsizing by eliminating drivers and trucks and utilizing commercial carriers to bring the boxes of monthly literature .
more outsourcing and more lay offs.. the funny thing about it is that they want to have the literature delivered to various private homes of the rank and file rather than have the literature delivered to the kingdom hall.

The biggest drain on the Org's god (money!) are the costs of printing
I may be wrong, but I'm seriously beginning to doubt that the Org's entire modus operandi is about accumulating money. Where are the profits? Who benefits and how? If it is, considering what seems to be their financial dire straits they have to be one of the world's worst organizations as far as financial management goes.
mr. jackson was pressured by angus stewart to answer if the org condoned corporal punishment, to which he openly stated that the org does not condone corporal punishment for j.w.
children.
this "fact" has never been revealed in the org's literature, in fact, this article which was published under geoffrey jackson's supervision, by definition demonstrates the org's approval of corporal punishment for j.w.
the vedas are the core sacred texts for the people of the east.
generally the vedas are to the east as the hebrew scriptures are to the west.
supporters of the bible, boast of it's scientific accuracy, prophetic accuracy & general infallibility.

Knowledge originates from a source,Greater and More Advanced than we are?
The knowledge we have today was not passed onto us by some superior being, rather it is a result of trial, error and necessity over the span of thousands of years. Even if you choose to disregard evolution, if you know your history this should be common sense.
Not trying to be a condescending dick here, but come on! If you just look back in the history of us as homo sapiens, every step we as a species have taken to arrive at our present state can be reliably traced, from the fireplace to the modern microwave.
Freemindfade:
I don't see anything unique in any of this.
I could write and eschatologic prophecy and people 1000 years from now would be amazed!! These things talk about human issues and nature, its a key that fits any generation.
The Vedas also gave conflicting creation stories, and attributed gods with storms and such. Changed which god was "the greatest" and so on. Sound familiar? Religion all comes form the same toilet bowl.
Well said!

brandnew: I would venture that its more cost effective to outsource. But rather than tell the congregations the truth , they spin a story that they are preparing for the great tribulation and persecution and this is the reason why they want to deliver to private homes.
we have the convention this weekend and many jw families are arriving.
one family that ive known for many years from new mexico stopped by to visit my mom.
hes been an elder since the 80s.

Nicely done! Because he invited you into a discussion with his opening sentence, you completely caught him with his defenses down and continuing with a fast follow up of your superior knowledge kept him off balance, thereby giving you the opportunity to share some TATT light which under different circumstances would have caused them to either shut you up or button up themselves like clams. A great example of how to seize on an opportunity and "witness" to them.
so jackson admits that there's a problem in the jw community with pedophiles, but lett says that it isn't true that jw are permissive to pedophiles.
also, morris says that jws where ahead of the game with the 1980s watchtower by blaming homosexuals for pedophilia.
hmm...seems legit.
They have to lower their standards to allow for a broader group of men to lead. They may even have to issue nu-lite that 'the women' can now be appointed.
I am willing to wager a substantial amount that this is exactly what wil transpire. I also disagree, appointing ladies is raising their standards.
( Just as an aside, that term 'the women' grates on my nerves like there's no tomorrow! )
Have you noticed in my posts I try my best to avoid using the word "women"? It carries such a negative connotation in my opinion, in the sense that it is comparative in a negative way - I prefer the word "ladies". I'm not a Social Justice Warrior, but It is in my character to fight unfairness and bullies. After witnessing first hand how ladies are relegated to second class (in some cases third class) citizens in various cultures and religions, then my wife having to fight for her just dues in the professional sphere where she works harder, has more experience and is more qualified than the male chauvinists who get placed above her in both position and respect simply because they were born with balls. When one considers how a large portion of the maleverse look to a punch list for "the rites of passage" in order to qualify as a "real man" my wife leaves them standing in the dust in many of those requirements:
She knows baseball better than any man I've met (besides her dad who was a West Point baseball coach)
She hunts and fishes as well if not better than most men
She's fitter than most, and thus the absence of a beer gut may disqualify her
She can shoot better than most men I know
She's way more knowledgeable about survival than any man Ive met in New York
She has been known back in our partying days, to outdrink all our male friends
BUT: she doesn't treat the opposite sex as second class, doesn't behave poorly around the opposite sex and doesn't make a public fool of herself in order to demonstrate how tough she is. I suppose then these traits would disqualify her from the male rites of passage.
Sorry If I hijacked this thread, but just last night I was listening to how she is being treated at work and it makes me see red and seeing your remark, I just had to share my disgust.
Believe me the still pervasive superior male attitude really grinds me too, as you can tell.
well i know i've been posting a lot of topics like this lately and i'm sorry if i sound whiny or annoying.
my parents were asking me why i was so upset lately and i ended up just telling them the whole truth.
i told them i don't believe in god or the bible because i don't have any evidence of anything.
BlackWolf:
You are neither whiney nor annoying. You feel you are in a desperate situation and need help. Well, this is a good place to express that and we're always here to liste. Those who have advice will happily offer it so please, don't feel guilty - it's partially what this forum is for. Read all the great advice and apply what works for you. Enjoy!
some jws will be on the list?
would you bring it up if you saw someone you know in there?
in the meantime, i'll be back... got to see if my credit card has been opened longer than i've been married to say it was back when i was single.
Heaven:
Im sure a link to the list will show up on Reddit - if it hasn't already. I haven't bothered to check because I don't care.
one member of a similar spanish speaking forum has found something quite interesting.. it is quite funny to see that gb members do not really realize how their belongings are really showing them as a fraud.
do you expect to see a gb wearing a 17000 us$ iwatch when answering to a court.
geoffrey jackson does !.
There are already two threads about it here:

Yours is now a third. But thx for sharing, anyway.
