so this afternoon my roommate and i decided to go grab some dinner from the local chipotle and, as we live only a short distance from the franchise, we decided it was a good idea to walk.

little did i know that the j-dubs district convention here in sacramento was just getting out (the auditorium is literally smack in the middle of downtown and its attendees have to park in garages scattered a couple blocks away in every direction) so men in cheap suits and women in unflattering dress' were walking all over the place as though someone had antagonized their ungodly ant hill.

and, for sacramento, this of course is the complete opposite of the normative - that is to say, our streets are usually filled with well dressed, immaculately groomed, 'i know exactly where i'm going' government officials that monopolize the state capitol m-f. .

i discovered that my 96-year-old grandaunt had named her jw elder as personal representative of her estate and another jw "best friend" as her power of attorney.

i learned that they used a financial advisor at wells fargo advisors to help raid my grandaunts bank accounts in the years before her death, and then the wt and jws received most of what was left of her estate.

i am currently working on a book to expose this horrific practice.

On this forum alone I have many posts which I found imcredibly moving, motivating and informative. In fact often I read about someone breaking free of the cult and finding hapiness, causing me to literally clap my hands in delight. Imagine what members of my gym must have thought when I started clapping and shouting "yes! Yes!" While reding one such account while I was on the treadmill ... I was so engrossed I forgot where I was.

The Org is terrified of apostates

i knew apostasy was a serious concern for the org, but until i watched this video, i had no idea how afraid they actually were.

all this guy wants is to do is not turn in his fs hours and immediately they (elders) set about drilling him about who are what influenced his decision, as if he was incapable of making his own (which as the elders confirm, in the org is highly discouraged).

they are convinced he has been communicating with apostates or visiting apostate web sites.

The only reason the Org would want to stop its members from exposing themselves to any ideas contradicting their policies/doctrine would be to prevent questions being asked. Warning of liars simply doesn't cut it because much of what is out there are NOT lies. If they merely discouraged members from outside research I wouldn't necessarily be lconvinced they were fearful of growing scutiny and exposure but there is ALWAYS a threat of apostasy involved where outside questioning is involved. As far as keeping people away from enemy propaganda goes, the threat of treason is the oldest tactic in the book and you're either blind, stupid, deaf or a child with your fingers jammed into your ears stomping your feet while yelling at the top of the lungs "Not true! Not true! Not true!" if you don't get that. Then again, it's more likely you're just ignoring the obvious because without holding onto the Disneyland dream your life has zero meaning or purpose, in which case I don't feel sorry for you, only embarrassed you're a member of my species.

venting: My wife is in cult mode again! she tried to start a fight..

so when i was at luch today, my wife was in full cult mode.

she started in on me about us not being able to hang with other witnesses and when i go to the meetings with her that i don't talk with nobody nor pay attention and act angry.

i told her that i don't want to fight and i have better things to do than argue.
