Oh the humanities...my wicked neighbor!
by username ini have been given a piece of birthday cake as it was his birthday yesterday!
will i be a human hot dog now?.....
this just got me thinking of all the stupidities of the watchtower teachings, someone very kindly offers you something as innocent as a slice of chocolate cake but we were supposed to turn it down because that peace of chocolate cake now had horns poking out the top of the chocolate frosting.

That's the beauty of superstition and the superstitious. No need to rationalize in order to get people to obey you, simply stick a demonic label on it and like magic they listen and obey! -

knock knock
by Sabin inif jw`s come knocking at your door, do you open it & engage in conversation, tell them to sod off, or just not answer the door?.
my husband`s has asked me not to answer the door to them if he isn't here?
he hate`s the fact that they make a point of calling when they know he will be at work.

The last time they came around (over a year ago) I had a little time off and invited them inside, offered them coffee and made them comfortable. Once they were all settled in I sprung my trap, confronting them mostly about the 1914 generation. It was fun watching go from relaxed to squirming in their chairs. That was the last time any of them ever came to my door. -

heartbroken and not sure what to do...
by Khaleesi ini don't know what to do.... i married last year and things have been very rocky.
we dated for 4 years and did have normal issues but always had a lingering doubt something was just not right in our relationship-behavior to be more specific, he is not a jw, but i am.
yes i know i married outside the "lord" but after my first marriage to a jw ended in divorce for physical abuse, i was glad i didn't married another jw.

I doubt his issue is hormonal although it is possible. I did a little research on Aspbergers upon reading your thread, here is a good link describing the symptoms although I'm sure you've already done considerable research http://www.activebeat.co/your-health/10-symptoms-of-aspergers-syndrome/ but reading those symptoms myself does seem to correlate with his behavioir.
Sabin claims the average for having sex is once a month for married couples - I find that hard to believe. What are those statistics based on? Eighty year olds?
I've been married for almost twelve years, am forty-six and I'm still like a rabbit. The average man's testosterone starts to decline in his late twenties to early thirties and many men need testosterone replacement therapy by the time they are in their forties in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. His issues though do not seem testosterone related to me but psychological. Also as Sabin mentioned, stress can be a problem affecting a man's bedroom performance. You said he has spoken to a doctor - is this doctor a therapist? If not I think a psychologist/psychiatrist may be the way to go.
Obviously you are a very affectionate and sexual person and like myself, sex is extremely important to me. I personally couldn't imagine being in a relationship without regular sex. As WitnessMyFury asked, how was it you didn't pick up on any of these behaviors prior to your marriage? Or did he suddenly develop these issues after marriage? If that is the case then something is definitely strange about the whole thing.
Don't give up on your relationship until you have both at least made an exhaustive effort to figure out the problem and work it out. Keep us informed!

The right to shun - wrong?
by Simon inmany people are understandably upset and angry at the notion that jws have the right to shun people.
it seems such an obvious "no brainer" cruel and inhuman thing to do - it must be wrong ... surely?.
of course we look at things from the perspective of those hurt and harmed by shunning.

I just wanted to say that I think the JW idea of love has the largest part of it invested in discipline. They shun and are ok with beating children because severe discipline is a more important physical way in which they demonstrate "love" - Compassion takes the back seat. Of course this makes sense to me since the entire cult is orientated around unquestioning loyalty and discipline - even if the discipline itself is as hollow as the "love" is. They have always relied on discipline rather than demonstrating compassion or empathy to keep people in the cult. -

Religious Tourism in Zimbabwe: A multi-billion $ Industry
by OrphanCrow inhttp://www.herald.co.zw/lets-embrace-our-local-prophets-mzembi/.
let's embrace our local prophets; mzembisamantha chigogo herald correspondenttourism and hospitality industry minister walter mzembi has urged zimbabweans to honour their prophets instead of flying to countries as far afield as nigeria and ghana to look for salvation.speaking during celebrations to mark the world tourism day in harare last friday, minister mzembi said honouring local prophets would help attract tourists and boost revenue generation.we should put our faith in local prophets instead of having fellow zimbabweans flooding countries like nigeria, ghana and south africa for spiritual confrontations, he said.minister mzembi said the tourism sector required initiatives that attracted more people to visit the country.we should embrace our local prophets to promote their international mileage so they can easily attract more delegates into the country.
let them come to fill our hotels by visiting local prophets than us going to them.

As I said before OC, quite ironic how Mugabe's government has done a 360 in the country's desperation for income considering how he actively hunted down the religious - particularly JWs - during the 70's, 80's and early 90's.
The lack of education, access to the internet and ignorance in third world countries make for fertile recruitment grounds.
