All such things are exceptions. In a garden, it is natural that some weed would also come up. But this should prevent us from benefiting from the garden.

JWs have more good points than bad
by lsw1961 in1) many who were on the destructive path have been transformed by their teachings (this includes me who was once vicious, and presumptuous and atheistic).
2) equal monthly pay to all members of the bethel community regardless of whether they are bc members or sweepers.
this is something that still remains as an unattainable dream for the world.

All points have already been adressed except one which I will adress.
You claim all JWs willingly become JWs while being well aware of the disfelloshipping/shunning policy. So ten year old children coerced into baptism are well aware of the consequences? A ten year old who barely understands why he has to be disciplined for misbehaving? Give me a break!
Not one point you made proves the JW cult is in any way special or better than any other superstitious belief out there. I hope you wake up kid (I say kid because your reasoning is on par with an infant) so you can actually enjoy a full, free life.

Haha I love fiery people. They are often the ones that once shown they've been lied to or taken advantage of, become the loudest voices for justice and truth with little regard for their own safety or situation. True warriors. -

Anyone who is willing to sacrifice something of their own to help others or fights for what is right at great risk to themselves. I would say of all heroes I hold firefighters in the highest reverence- these are guys that dont't just risk their lives for others, but even for the sake of your burning old sofa a homeless person wouldnt want, yet they're the least appreciated of all "heroes". -

My First Birthday.....
by The Marvster ini awoken today and realised immidiately i'm 44 today... and after 3 years of being out, decided to acknowledge my birthday.... i'm off out to treat myself to a big hearty breakfast with cup of tea in the local weatherspoon's by the massive pond full of weird bird-life, later today i'm giving myself a gift of a 90 minute relaxation session in a float tank down by canary wharf in london.... only really have 2 close friends (it's a slow process trusting people agian) and they probably won't be able to see me today, but i'm sure i'll have a belated surprise from them both.... the first thing i did when i remembered was to rush to the computer, connect to the web and put on stevie wonder's 'happy birthday', as i listen to it, tears stream down my face... all those years of my life stolen ' but..... i'm free....'.

Why doesn't God need a creator, while the Universe does?
by Bloody Hotdogs! ini asked this question of a jw that called on me yesterday: "if the universe requires a creator, why doesn't god?
if the universe must have a beginning, why doesn't god?
he claims to have an answer, but it must wait for next time he calls.. i'm hoping you guys can give me a heads-up as to what he will say.

I think I was around ten or eleven when I began to ask my mom who made god and the same old, regurgitated explanation was used: Jehovah has no beginning and no end. Even back then it made no sense to me.
I agree with Viv, if a creator didn't need a creator, then why not until proven otherwise accept that the universe came to be without a creator? And along with what Prologos said, a creator existing in a void makes no sense either. Accept what science demonstrates - it all began with a BB or you're just a dog chasing its own tail.

His mouth has a mind of its own the way it moves around his face. It makes me wonder if the mind his mouth has realizes it's too smart to be used to convey his ridiculous thoughts and is trying to escape from his disgusting latex face. -

Perhaps they would prefer to go back to the 1800's and drive a wagon. They could do fun things like get lost in the desert and die, get caught in a blizzard and die, cross a not frozen enough lake and die, run into bandits and die. So much fun don't you think?
