Phizzy:
Ill second Saintbetholdt's Amen. Amen!
i lead an evidence based life, in that, if i have to make a decision over buying something, or a certain course of action, i will look at the evidence.. if someone tells me something is true, i examine the evidence, using critical thinking skills.. and yet i have faith, not faith as some have, believing that something is true without satisfactory evidence, but i have faith that all humans are of equal value, that the right way to live is doing the most good and the least harm, that love is better than hate, that peace is better than war.. so, i am a sceptical, rational, humanist, atheistic person of faith..

Ill second Saintbetholdt's Amen. Amen!
Perry I hope you get well soon.
Now a question for you. Why is it you are so ready to answer anything relating to religion and emotions, yet refuse to engage inscientific debate despite constantly criticizing it? If you keep harping on about religion trumping science in your many comparisons yet only actively engage one side of the argument. My advice would be to stick to religious topics only since you clearly haven't a clue about science or its mechanics.
My first bit of advice is try to avoid taking the first job that comes along if you know you will not be happy at it.
Make a list:
1) What sort of career/trade am I genuinely interested in?
This is an all important question if you are thinking long term employment. The next questions will help you realistically evaluate the possibility of pursuing that career.
2) What experience do I have?
3) What are my skill sets?
4) What are my qualifications?
If you find you lack the necessary criteria for your dream career, turn the above three questions into goal statements:
1) In order to qualify I need a degree/diploma. I WILL attain these no matter what.
2) I have none or only some of the required skills. I WILL make time to work on expanding and refining my skill sets.
etc...
As others said, prep is key. Once you have attained all you think you need, put together a good resume/CV (you can google some excellent templates and examples for free) and make sure it conveys confidence. Confidence IMO is THE most important quality an employee can have. If you get a shot at an interview, again - be confident! Do NOT short sell yourself, that is a sure sign of a lack of confidence. Always be prepared to answer difficult questions, ask questions and take notes. Demonstrating to the interviewer that you are prepared and organized tells him/her that is how your work ethic will be, too.
You are in charge of your future, don't let obstacles or people intimidate you no matter how daunting. Backing down from what you ultimately want in life will only leave you stranded with regrets and possibly bitterness. Set your goals, work for them and you will be rewarded for your efforts.
Good luck!
please be aware of everything that is happening around the world at this moment in time.
this goes to anyone, ex-communicated, removed, serving, believer and non.
at this point in my observations i have realized many religions/ideologies know there is some sort "end of time" or a transition into a new order of living in this earth.
the more i think about it, the more i feel an extreme dislike for the apostle paul.
he was on par with hitler in his treatment of the jews before he "saw the light".
he replaced jesus teachings of love and mercy with a more legalistic, pharisaical concept of devotion to god.. any evil person can come to believe in god and worship him if the scales were literally and miraculously removed from his eyes.
a big problem i have always had when talking about anything related to jw teachings, is that i get aggravated and frustrated when logical black and white concepts/scriptures are not seen/interpreted in a logical way.
it really frustrates me having to hear '' oh no this does not apply here '' in every scripture that i bring to my parents attention.
starting from when i was 16 to about 20, my frustrations would lead to these anger fits.
Your post was written perfectly and I definitely felt your frustration. Many if not most of us here have had to suffer through the same or similar behavior - I certainly did with my mother and brother. My mom would actually get heart palpitations and hypertension everytime we engaged in similar conversations.
The problem is they are so hopelessly dependent on the bOrg to think for them, decide for them and literally dictate their lives to them. The longer they are "in" the more intellectually lazy they become, common sense plays a smaller and ever diminishing role in their lives as time in the cult passes.MThey become so mentally incompetent that they panick when they are being challenged. Truth, facts, relationships, unconditional love are all decided by the bOrg and they will fight tooth and nail to protect their dependency on the bOrg drug. As LisaRose said, those hopelessly hardwired to the bOrg will only snap out of it when their thought process changes at the critical time, however that may come about is personal and no amount of arguing, evidence or even love on your part will change that.
You only yave one hope my friend - time. Only time will offer them chances to break free. In the meantime, don't give up hope and concentrate on finding your own happiness and success.
forgive me if this has been covered before but i haven't seen anything about it recently.. in exploring the two faiths, mormons vs. jehovah's witnesses, which were both founded in the 1800s with the mormons being slightly a slightly older religion it seems mormons is a more attractive religion than jehovah's witnesses.
do not get me wrong, i'm not looking at joining the mormon church.
but i still enjoy studying other faiths and different belief systems.
Witness007:
Actually the angel Moroni never took the gold tablets back. He instructed JS to bury them and to this day they have not been found despite the area in which they were supposedly burried being heavily excavated for housing and businesses. And all those so-called "kingdoms" which existed in the US as claimed in the BOM - not one trace ever found of them despite repeated archeological efforts.
As for the stories in the BOM - if you thought the bible had nonsensical stories they don't hold a candle to the BOM. The only book Ive ever laughed harder at was perhaps a Douglas Adams book.
It astounds me how people can swallow such illogical BS.
the elders will keep you out longer as payback for you appealing their decision how dare you peon appeal the secret weapons design you stupid publisher.

Because some family are really duped into believing they are doing it in your best interests?
If you really really believed you could save someone's life by not talking to them for six months.
For many there are baser and mixed motivations of course. But in its purest form it is perhaps forgivable.
Yes I suppose you are right. I think I'm just one of those people that can even cut off family in a heart beat if they are interfering with my life and freedom, particularly when they set conditional terms for a relationship. Perhaps my willingness to bolt at the first smell of bullshit could also be a weakness, I don't know. Maybe thats why I have so few friends and only retain the ones with whom we share a mutual respect for each other without conditions.

the study wt of march 2016 is up on jw.org and is the standard article around this time of year...pressuring young kids to dedicate their lives to the organization again.
this wt will be studied during may, so just in time to pressure them into baptism at the regional conventions this summer.such articles really upset me, as the realization of how many young promising lives will be destroyed.
how many families will be broken up, when the child who got baptized as a minor (ages 6 and up are mentioned in the literature) decides as a young adult that his/her conscience no longer allows him/her to be part of such a destructive cult.
