The danger of thinking we know everything.
by stuckinarut2 ina thought occurred that there is a danger in thinking we know everything, or have it all figured out in life.
especially when it comes to matters of doctrine or faith.. witnesses (or at least the society as a whole) are so self-confident, so proud to be the only ones who know "the truth" about everything to do with the universe, the earth, our past and our future, that pride kicks in.
and pride is dangerous...(.and before a fall).

Personally, if I ever found myself with an attitude that "I knew everything" I would have to acknowledge that not only had I become lazy and stopped learning new things, but also that I had become the ultimate liar. -

More Ant-Evolution BS in this months JW Broadcast Program
by ttdtt inso at around the 46 min mark - the are talking to this guy from ukraine who was a zoologist.. he talks about how he was a staunch evolutionist (who wasn't able to prove evolution to himself, by the way).
then when he studied nature through the lens of evolution - he found that nature contradicted evolution.. his big point came when he said - "imagine emptying a box of letter blocks on a table, and the encyclopedia britannica appears, or could a computer program come by chance.
so who could dna come by chance.".

JW Tattoos
by bradford ini'm sure there are countless opinions on whether you should get a tattoo or not.
my personal view is that if you were to get one it should mean something.. anyone get a tattoo to remember their jw roots?
i was thinking of getting a tetragrammaton somewhere.

Stealth:
If a JW got that on his arm he could rack up pioneer hours just hanging out at the park. That made me laugh. Thanks!
I almost got a tattoo in the military then decided against it. I far prefer the look of clean, healthy skin. There are two kinds of tattoos I detest:
The "tramp stamp" - nothing says "I'm trash" like these do, even though it may not be true of the person at all. Social stigma I suppose.
The "Tough guy" - usually barbed wire or tribal designs around the bicep. It's not so much the tattoo that's the problem, but almost every guy I knew or know with one tries ridiculously hard to portray the character of a "tough guy" and are invariably bullies. Of the dozens I know or knew who had them, only two were real tough guys who also happened to be among the quietest, gentlest people I know. I'm willing to bet you're also one of the latter sort, Stealth.
I remember back in the day when tattoos weren't as common as they are now and were largely confined to sailors, ex-cons, military types and bikers. Now fourteen year olds have them .... SMH.

NeverKnew:
A troll child doesn't care. So yes he won. He consumed all your time getting your attention. It has nothing to do with JW commitment. Like I said, if you read my postings of his IM's to me full of profanity. The CHILD doesn't care about the JW religion, only your attention. But be my guest, keep engaging him and convince yourself that is what he's all about. Get it? He's a CHILD, as in barely pubescent.

I seriously can't believe you intelligent lot are debating a child. Didn't you read the post I shared concerning his PMs with me? Wow. Keep feeding the kids ego, seriously go ahead. He's a teenager and beating the shit out of adults as far as effort goes. But hey, keep feeding him ... Who am I to to laugh at you all? -

Bro, seriously. Your trying to debate a child. Ignore him. He's an early teen troll. Didn't you see my posts about the PM's from him I shared with the forum?
I wish Simon would just ban this kid.

Nowwhat
No he is a literal child and a troll. The last time he swung by here he was shut down quickly, particularly with the profanity laden PM's he sent me which I shared with the forum. No seriously, he's a child looking to troll, period. Just ignore the little brat.

Twilight and other banned media
by purrpurr inthanks to online media of movies and books i've recently been watching the twilight series.
issues of quality aside i enjoyed it enough.
i mostly wanted to see what the fuss was about and have the fun of seeing a movie that was banned from the platform when it came out.

Same old story. Create superstitious fear and hysteria (Satan and his demons) amongst people then tell them you have the only means of combating them. With shamans it's a talisman, with the WTS it's the GB's decrees. -

Just because the JW'S are wrong doesnt mean theres no god.
by atomant inl;ve been giving this some serious consideration lately.l dont have all the answers no one does.we are all entitled to our opinions.l certainly dont believe in evolution as lve researched that subject extensively.lt's important to believe in something even if its for mental health.l believe everything happens for a reason.l also believe if we all live as close to the 10 commandments as possible this world would be a far better place to live and no one can argue with that.
