I didn't really go into the site and read a lot. I just took a quick peak. I did have the same thought you did about it being a site to get the JWs to take a look. But like you, I didn't think it would do much good. I will take another look later. I just thought that it was funny, and kinda insulting and then signed with "christian love." The begining was a bit full of self too begining with: "Unless you have been on another planet during the past 4 months, you no doubt have already heard about our new website"

Grieving

i have grieved over many deaths in my short life, but now i am grieving over what i once believed.

i'm past the anger now, so here comes the denial, and then the guilt.

does anybody have one of those "men in black" memory eraser pen flashing dealies?

I know exactly where you are coming from. I was there to. Some days I still get little twinges, but nothing compared to before. I was in some 40+ years. Raised in it since I was 10 years old. My whole life revolved around it. I had all the answers. But the doubts were always there and I knew something was wrong. I, of course, was told it was my fault for doubting and I needed to do more praying, service, etc. When I first found out that my whole life was based on lies, it hit me hard. I had just lost my Mother to cancer and had moved to a new neighboring town to escape the congregation I was in thinking a new start would be good. But I didn't go but a few times. I started on the internet and went to the old H2O and argued in defense of the WTBTS dispite the doubts in my heart. After all, it was all I knew. And leaving meant a loss of family and friends, and I was not about to disassociate myself like a friend of mine did a few years before. The more I learned, the more I knew that these things I was taught all my life were really false and I was in a lot of emotional pain. It was very difficult at times. I went all over the net looking for what might be the truth. I learned more about religion and my own faith than I had ever known before. The more I learned the more I realized that there is not truth out there. All religions carry similar teachings, including pagan ones. Right now, I guess, I would be considered agnostic.
As far as the pain, it diminished with knowledge. The more I learned, the less pain I had. I was now truly in control and I was not accountable to any of the elders or other witnesses. At first I did beleive in the God most "christians" do. But now I am not sure who or what God is. I have my own ideas on what God is from all my research. More research might reveal more to me in time.
I suggest that you do as one person told you. Recognize your pain, feel it, know that for the first time ever you are having truthful feelings that are not told to you, and dictated to you. Follow your gut instict for probably the first time. Research and research some more. Think about all that you learn. Some will be crap, there is lots of it out there. But some things will start to "click". Pay attention to those things.
Take breaks from what you learn if it gets to burdensome. I would take a week or two away from H2O at times because things got to mentally burdensome for me.
Get into some interest you wouldn't have taken the time to do before. Art class, reading some stuff you never would before. (I watched old movies, still do at times when I get down.) Take a trip to a museum, go out with a "worldy" person you like but wouldn't spend time with unless you thought you could convert them. There is so much out there in this world to do. (I went back to college and found that I was not to old to do that and I was smart. I was on the dean's list this part semester. Something I never thought as a JW that I could ever do because as a JW you are taught that no matter what you are never good enough.) Doing other things increases your self-esteem and your sense of self. Two things that being a JW never ever do!
If you are having feelings that you need to go back just read what you have already learned. It will help. So many times I felt the old indoctrinations kicking in and the guilt would travel back into my heart. But I would get on line and read and remember why I "drifted" away. I am not dissassociated or disfellowshipped. I still have limited contact with the JWs here and there. They all consider me weak but when I see them they treat me fine. I can't ask for more. I don't try to make them hear what I have learned unless they ask and even then I try not to say to much, and so far it is working out.
It might seem complicate to you, finding out the truth about things because everything was so laid out for you as a witness, but I promise you that if you continue on you will live a much more self-fulfilled life, and you will have a much better feeling inside about everything. Remember before that everything was fed to you and now you need to look for the food. Before all your thoughts were given to you by what the Society told you was what you should think. They evern told you how you should live and what you should be doing when. Now it is all new out there to you. Take it slow and the peace will come. The peace inside increases and it will be so much better than anything you were told you should feel as a JW. They talk about joy, something that I never had in all those years. Many say they have it because they don't want to be the one to say they don't. But your joy will increase as you get farther way from the JW teachings and the effects they have had on you.
I know that this is long but I feel that if you are hurting these things might help.

But seeing that they are studying the "deeper" things and still haven't figured out the truth about the "Truth", they need to take a long look in the mirror themselves! [8>] LOL

The word "online" equal to "apos...

a couple nights ago i had this really wierd dream.

i dream in full color and full detail of the surroundings.

it looks just like real life, right down to the ultimate detail.. i was dreaming that the society had made a number of changes and for some reason i was among the friends at a gathering.

A couple nights ago I had this really wierd dream. I dream in full color and full detail of the surroundings. It looks just like real life, right down to the ultimate detail.

I was dreaming that the Society had made a number of changes and for some reason I was among the friends at a gathering. It wasn't an assmebly and it wasn't a KH but they were all their as if they gathered at the KH. It was a barn-like structure and everyone was standing around conversing.

They all were praising the "new light" that had been handed down and how things had changed so much for the better the past few years. The only change that was physically obvious to me was that all the women were wearing white bonnets like in the olden days. The rest of the dress was the same for everyone. I and a few other women were not wearing bonnets.They wanted to know why and I told them that it was because I was no longer one of them, which in itself dedn't seem to bother them. As I wandered about talking I noticed that one thing that changed was that no one was allowed on-line no matter what. Even the word "on-line" was like saying "apostate" now. Evil and forboding! If anyone dared to say the word "on-line" all the JWs would run. I found this very amusing so I tested it out for myself. I yelled into the crowd..."On-line!!!", and everyone ran for the hills. They couldn't run fast enough or far enough. I chuckled to my self and walked over to another group of JWs and yelled "on-line" again and everyone had the same frightened, terrified reaction. I thought it was so funny to watch them running away from a word, like trained animals. The white dots of the hats running far off in the distance. What a sight it was. I did it again and again, it was so much fun!

I don't remember much more except that I woke up laughing at the thought of the dream.

Auntie Lindy, who thinks she is recovering nicely from the 40+ years of being a "white bonnet".

Welcome. I got here a few months back. Yes, You Know couldn't keep away, and neither could Fred. But I just do as many can't seem to, I basically ignore them. But they make a "good" witness for JWs world wide...on how they might try to think for themselves, that is.

An Example of JW Need2Get a Life

we have often times seen jw come here and say:.

why don't you guys get a life- well here is a perfect example of a group of folks who need to get a life.

while many of us left wt and have gone on to college and gotten jobs where we are able to provide these things for ourselves and our famiies poor jw are sitting around waiting to cash in thier new system coupon in order to get these things.

Isn't it the saddest stuff you have ever read? They are trying so hard to believe that these things will happen for them. That giving up what they do, it will somehow be worth it later. The Society has effectively taught them to brainwash themselves.

But most of it doesn't even make sense. How are they going to run these fancy houses without the "modern" technology of the "old system of things"? One person is looking forward to having a remote control fireplace that he personally designed. Hmm...How is he getting the energy to run it? Does he know how to make batteries or some other form of energy? How are they going to get and produce the supplies they will need. Stainless steel sinks, ceramic sinks, plumbing. They make it all sound so easy, like it will fall out of the sky for them. Most JWs don't have jobs in the modern fields of technology. So how are they going to make these things? There would be very few skilled persons to accomlish these things.
I laugh at the ones who are looking in field service and "picking out" their future homes. What if someone with more "senority" decides they want it too? How are these homes going to function without energy after the Big A?
One more person is looking forward to things like lions in the back yard! The animals in the garden of Eden were wild. They were not pets! I never could figure this out when I was still a practicing JW! The teeth and the digestive systems for some wild animals makes them meat eaters. Did God change their teeth and such after the flood? If he created them this way, then he knew that they would need them, I would think anyway. Otherwise, he created something that was imperfect for its needs. If they ate grass with these teeth before the flood then God knew ahead of time that mankind would fail and that meat eating was to be after the flood. Raises other questions doesn't it?

In the real life these ones are not only giving up their dreams for the new system that never comes, but they are also giving up who they are (could be) and the family and friends they could have from this "bad world". They have limited their thinking with closed minds run by the Society, thus limited their knowledge of so many things that bring happiness and make life worth living. I came out so late in life, but I am so glad that I am out.

the end is so close

god can you believe, it speaker talking about the end being so near we just have to keep going out in the territory (bother people who don't want to talk with us) and keep the magazines moving because the end is near.

she said you could here uh huh from some of the braindead.

I hope that you are okay. I know what you mean about the pain. Many have the emotional pain too that makes the Organization look great. That is what did it for my Mom when I was only eight, dragging my two brothers and myself with her.

Hope whatever got you to the emegency room is feeling better now.

Well, the end IS near people. Every day it gets closer and closer. Maybe the Society has switched what "end" they are talking about now and forgot to tell us. Maybe the "new light" on the end is near now means our individual ends. Each gets nearer each days of our lives. And it can come suddenly, as a thief in the night, either by disease of accident.

So sell those magazines while the sun still shines!

Did ya get this guys? "Some" understandings have changed. Geeeez, the whole religion changed over the years! That's why they had to go back and change all the significant details in the reprints of the literature!
What gets me is that they see the changes but don't even stop to think for one minute to question why the changes were made!

Imagine living for the "surprise" of the new releases! I can't believe I did that. I remember being dissapointed several times too. I think the thought of dragging around the new theocratic school book will be a dissapointment for many, but they have until 2003 to get used to the idea....and the idea that since the Society isn't expecting to publish a book that won't be used until 2003 and beyond, or it won't be worth their monies and efforts to publish it! Guess the new system ain't commin' soon guys! LOL
