  Happy Fourth of July everyone who celebrates it. So is anyone having fun today? Picnics, fireworks, parades? And for you who don't celebrate, have one on us anyway!

  Mommie Dark (my well loved SIL) and I will be going to a big family shin-dig. A belated 60th anniversary party for our Uncle and Aunt. That is, it will be big if all the relations show up and we don't get rained out!! Family that I am sure I won't recognize will be there if all invited show. Our JW sister won't be there but wishes us to have fun without her. How gracious of her, considering the day. I guess if you mix holidays and "apostates" together in one place it is just to much to ask! He he he. Like rolling in poison ivy and expecting not to catch it, huh! LOL [8>]

  I wonder if the other family Jdubs will show up? Hope so, I miss seeing them.

  It should be fun though, someone is bound to do something worth gossiping about, don't ya think?...might even be me! Of course, you know, it would never be Mommie! What fun things are now that we are free to go and do what we please without the shadow of religious guilt trailing behind us watching our every move.

  Part II of Survey! Please Respond Again.Thank's.

  the first survey i asked how you were brought into the non-truth.

  my next survey is along the same line, however what i would like to find out is on the average how many hours you spent in the field service and were you ever able to bring anyone into the non-truth via field service or via incidental witnessing.. and how long you were associated with the borg?.

  Published for over 40 years, can't give you the hours. Only auxilery pioneered one month and absolutely hated it. Reported hours I didn't work some months just so the elders would leave me alone. Just faded out in the end and no one cared.
  Brought in two people, one is not in any more and I lost track of the other. Many, many studies but to no avail. Some of my studies were with ones already going with their families and they either asked me to study or the elders thought it would be good. One was baptized but now out and one is still going but even after a good many years, she is still not baptized. Unfortuately I helped many family members to either come in or to continue in. My bad.

  Lindy, wondering why you are doing these surveys. Self interest or what?

  Suggestions for baby names please

  we would like to ask you good folk ( the bad ones can play as well) for suggestions for baby names.

  its getting close now and we need ideas.

  we dont know the sex yet.

  A suggestion: if you are overcome and like more names than a first and second, add a second middle name. We did that for our girls. We compromised on the first name and used both of our favorites for the middle names. They actually like it. Each of them at times, has gone by at least one of their middle names in Junior High and High School. Seems like kids going through those years like to be "different" and make up names for themselves and that is what their friends call them. Individualism, and independence, ya know...

  Might try some of the old names that aren't used much anymore, so that not every kid in school will have the same name as yours. But not to old or strange. No weird spellings tho', kids hate that!!

  Mommie mentioned Bible names. We used the Biblical spelling on two common names and our girls always have to make sure that people get that right. The more popular spellings of the same name are a bit different, although are now becoming much more common. (I always wondered why the Biblical spellings were not the "right" ones to begin with?)

  On unusual names, my daughters friend has a 18 month old girl that she named Legend Angelica.

  it seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?

  for me it was my aunt who has now even though i am not disfellowshipped decided to write me out of her will to the tune of about $150,000.00 (maybe i should hang around a couple more years)dont think i will.. please respond .

  My Mom came in through the door to door work. Her sister was studying with a JW shortly before and was baptized. My Mom was Catholic and wasn't really interested. But since her sister had become one,she decided to give it a look. I was 8 at the time and my Mom was baptized 2 years later. She drug us three kids still at home with her. My youngest brother never "took" and neither did my Dad. My brother and I both married "in" and were raising our children in it. But only one of his children out of the four was baptized, but now is DF. None of my children were indoctrinated enough to take hold of it, thank goodness! My first and second husbands were raised in it too, but their family came in through the door to door work when they children, not born into it.

  Does anyone know about ADD in adults?

  i really need some help guys.

  my youngest son is getting married in 3 weeks to a really annoying .

  young woman, 22. she has add and talks all the time!!

  Hmmm...Two of my children were diagnosed as having ADD as adults. My son is 33 and my daughter is almost 22. My son is very quiet, smart and very reserved. His only problem seems to be in knowing how to make better judgements with people and what he is doing with his life. Those things are getting better but I see that it will never be all okay. He is not on meds.
  My daughter is on meds but not ritalin. She tried that and a couple other things. The one that helps her the most is Paxil. She also has judgement problems but seems to be figuring things out faster than my son. She is also very reserved. They are both very social when they know you though.

  Maybe a lot of this girl's problems could be connected with an inferiority complex and the problem could be other things along with the ADD. My granddaughter's mom used to talk all the time, repeating things over and over in conversations. She thought she knew a lot too. Now that she has gotten her life together and has furthered herself with education she has become a lot nicer to be around. She thinks more of herself than before and that helps. Sometimes when people think they are dumb, so as to cover it over, they pretend to be authorities on everything. Just a thought. Goes along with the dyslexia. If she feels stupid because she can't read well then maybe she is letting everyone know she is not stupid by the things she says.

  I wish you well with this, it isn't going to be easy, as you already can see.

  i was just thinking, (whoops!, can't do that anymore, 8/1/01 wt), after reading my bible i came across a passage that discussed payment for christian workers:.

  7what soldier has to pay his own expenses?

  and have you ever heard of a farmer who harvests his crop and doesnt have the right to eat some of it?

  If they had to really repay us, how would they know how much we are due for how many hours? Would they just pay out the money based on the hours on our past time sheets? Or would they admit to the fact that we all cheated or fudged the numbers to get our hours in. But how many hours would each person fudge? If they did admit to that, then they would have to admit that we are all "unchristian." Could get around that though with the "imperfect" thing. That wouldn't look good to the public so then they would have to find some other way of repayment. Hmmm...how about some coupons for "donation-free" magazines for the rest of your lives? But what if you don't want that? I am sure they would come up with something other than cash. How about donating back to the Society what they owe you? That would be really convenient, huh?! I am sure they could make it happen. They could lay on the guilt that if you were to accept payment then you would not be supporting Jehovah's Organization and the world-wide preaching work. Then the ones who would take the cash would be made to look like money gabbers and bad association for not doing what the society commands, I mean "suggests!
