2003 Our Year

as i sit here online watching the new year come in the central time zone, and me in the pacific, witchywoman and i both wish to extend a very happy new years greetings to all of you.

2003 is going to be our year.

Yes, I have some plans what it comes to her, but she needs some time at the moment. She is single, thanks God, but I have been told that she a very artistic personality and rather complicated person in these close relationships. That's the reason for my careful approach. Yet I hope that this year could be ours. Time will tell what will happen between me and her. I've already lost my heart to her. I love her....

after a year of doubting if i would ever be free from feeling ties to the wt, i am proud to be known as an apostate.

before i was so concerned with what some of the "friends" , would think of me, how they would think the worst of me for being an apostate.

now i hope they do think about me,,,,,,,, i hope they know i want nothing to do with most of them.

BBC-Panorama on the Finnish Tv

the cut version of the panorama programme on paedophilia issue among the jw community was shown on our national tv-channel 2 on the 12th of december.

after the bbc's section the local pr man, mr. leinonen, was interviewed.

he was asked what the situation is here in our country and how the issue is or will be dealt with.

The cut version of the Panorama programme on paedophilia issue among the JW community was shown on our national tv-channel 2 on the 12th of December. After the BBC's section the local PR man, Mr. Leinonen, was interviewed. He was asked what the situation is here in our country and how the issue is or will be dealt with. He said that there has been only a handfull of cases and all of those have been properly dealt with and that the authorities have been informed as well. He also claimed that no information has been sent from the branch to the headquarters in the Brooklyn. He did not mention anything about the alleged paedophile list held at the Brooklyn. Mr. Leinonen was very carefull in choosing his words and I must admit that he did a good job in defending the JW's.

But his calm appearances did not hold him back from sending a letter to the local congregations. In that letter he warned the congregations of the coming programme. The letter was full of that famous JW phraseology: Satan attacing, apostates lying and biased journalists, etc. And the other member of the local branch committee, Mr. Ropponen, used the same tactics in his convention talk. Outrageous hypocrites, I must say. Those bl.....y b.....ds! Aaaarrrrccchhh...

Now there's a heated discussion going on on the Finnish section of the H2O...

H20 vs JWD

h20 was a smashing success for a long time, even with many moderators.

the board rules were basically good common sense, and expressed some issues as to matters of law, such as not violating copyright, etc.

i don't understand why h20 went down the tank.

Well, it seems that the Finnish section of H2O keeps it alive while the international main section is rather sleepy nowadays. H2O is also in monetary problems now. I personally think that H2O will not survive if the current situation goes on a few months. We finns on H2O have already some plans to move our board on an Estonian site, see here: http://www.dejt.org/foorum/. Our nations have very strong and warm ties, especially after the Estonians got their indepence from former Soviet Union or Russia, so I think it would be much better to combine our efforts against the Watchtower in our countries. It wouldalso be a much easier to support financially the Estonian board. And the other benefit is that the loading times would be faster when the server is physically nearer. The coming months will show what is the future of H2O.

Voltaire, I think being a JW or an ex-JW is essentially the same here than everywhere else. Of course there are cultural differences and tones, but JW's have their own sub-culture which is rather coherent despite the nationality. I, for example, can easily understand the folks here and their emotions. The borganasation doesn't allow too much differences from country to country.

If you need to know more of my country, you can take a look on, for example, Microsoft's Encarta Encyclopedia or Encarta World Atlas. These good sources to start with.

Our section on H2O has grown to a notable JW site in our language. The site was mentioned at the district convention last weekend by Mr. Veikko Leinonen, a local branch committee member. During the convention the local ex-JW's had the first demonstration against the shunning policy and lack of religious freedom and expression among the JW's. We had a couple of banderolls, some flyers and signs and we advertised the Finnish section of H2O freely. This all hasn't been in vain because there seems to be some growth in view counts and many new writers. It's really thrilling to think that our efforts are having an influnce on the JW's here in our country. Now every JW in Finland knows where the critical information is available without forgetting the support and venting.

The net is a powerful tool against JW's indeed.

Lurker....wants expert assistance (question)

i got a couple of lurkers emailing to me at the moment!.

anyway.... one of them has a question and we need the input of a boffin like alan f, or jt.. elderly lady, just got df,after 40 years of service, wants to know, now shes df, will the org still take her money that shes bequeathed to them in her will.?.

does she need to change her will to prevent the org from gettings its clammy claws on her bucks.?.

I once had my will made for the Society's local branch and before I DA'd myself, I requested them to send their copy back to me (I had the original). I told them I wanted to make some changes in it but actually I destroyed both the original and the copy by tearing them into a garbage container. Well, I lost only the costs of planning the will at the notary's office (150 us $ or so) but it was worth of it. Now the JW's won't get a penny the day I die.
