my girlfriend had sent her a pretty harsh letter criticizing my family sharing her opinion about the religion about 2 weeks ago and she had never gotten a response (which kind of surprised me, actually.

Double standards Re: Disfellowshipping

RR - I'm shocked. You know that if a JW gets a divorce for any reason other than adultry, gets remarried - then that is considered adultry by the JW's. She could have divorced an abusive a--hole, re-married a wonderful soulmate and been DF'ed for adultry.
I know one person who was in an abusive marriage, and she separated from her husband because there was 'no grounds' for divorce. She planned to just stay separated that way forever. But a few year later she met a wonderful man (not JW) and she fell in love. But she was not 'free' to remarry. She tried and tried to keep living alone...until one day she decided she deserved some happiness in her life and that God wanted her to be happy at least for a little while in her life, so she moved in with this guy who loved her! They got married soon after. Needless to say, the woman was DF for ADULTRY.
Today, several years later, they are still very much in love and have a beautiful life together. But the woman is not alowed to see her daughter, her grandchildren and her best friends.
I know ANOTHER woman. She was/is very wealthy. VERY wealthy. Bought-all-the-million-dollar-houses-on-her-street-so-she-could-have-a-private-road wealthy. She was a JW and was unhappily married. (I don't know if it was abusive or what.) But she wanted a divorce. So she faded, got a divorce, and faded back in with a new husband and never was even marked, let alone DF.
Double standard for sure, but both were women.

Wanted: Cheap housing, warm weather and part time work
by Leander inwell i think i finally have had enough of chicago.
sitting in traffic today for 2 hours just trying to get to work made me realize i'm wasting my time and my life doing things i hate.
so i've decided to look for a new home where the weather is warm, jobs are plentiful and the cost of living is cheaper.

Yep. Now JWs have an answer for many charges against the Witnesses............(a false answer, but an answer) The answer to such charges is simple and easy to remember: The charges are all lies! They don't even have to address the UN scandal, because they have established with this article for all NON-thinking people that all negative things about the WT that are read or heard are the "voice of strangers" (read: SATAN)! So all negative things about the WT that are read or heard are lies. So simple. Much easier than actually thinking up an answer for each charge against the JWs. LisaBOBeesa

each plate was priced at $49.95 but i got them for 30% less because of my employee discount.

I love Ebay.... :) It is great fun. I sell junk and toys on ebay for fun and spending money.
I would see if any of the plates you are going to sell have sold in the last 60 days on ebay and how much they have gone for. search "completed auctions." That will give you an idea how much you actually will get for them on ebay.
What kind of plates are they? I would research a little for you if you like...

My wife and I ...
by Brummie in...are seperating, and darn it feels so weird.
one day i'm like "yeah, ok, sounds like this could be for the best" and the next day i'm feelin like :( i'm all packed up and ready to go on the 28th of this month, have arranged a new place to live not too far away from my boys, cant imagine life without them running around causing havoc everyday...but my wife and i are still handling things well and arranging weekly visits for them so i guess i have to look on the bright side.
wont share anymore except to say there is no 3rd person involved or anything like that .

The Nation of Islam began in 1930 with the arrival of Wallace Dodd Fard to the black ghetto of Detroit. To the black underclass, Fard presented himself as a merchant allegedly from "the holy city of Mecca." He sold silks, hats, and other artifacts allegedly imported from his homeland, though Elijah Muhammad once stated that Fard was not a silk peddler but a tailor of custom-made clothes.[3] Poor black families would invite Fard to their homes, where he who assumed the role of a Muslim teacher, reading to them directly from an Arabic edition of the Qur'an.[4] At the dinner table Fard warned his hosts against pork, polished rice, and other foods: "Now don't eat this food, it is poison for you. The people in your own country do not eat it. Since they eat the right kind of food they have the best health all the time."[5]
In various ways Fard undermined his hearers' faith in Christianity and the Bible, which for generations had sustained downtrodden black families. He encouraged his followers to listen to radio broadcasts of Jehovah's Witness president Joseph Rutherford, whose rallying cry at that time was "Religion is a snare and a racket." Fard also used Jehovah's Witness literature to teach his followers that the time of "Gentile" (i.e., Caucasian) domination had come to an end in 1914; that the resurrection of the "so-called Negro" had already occurred as a mental and invisible fact, and that the coming New World was just around the corner. In just a few years, he claimed, the oppressed black man would receive the kingdom and the New World would arrive by 1936 at the very latest.[6]
