Another passage is of the "falling away of the thigh".
I wish my thighs would fall away... but I don't think that is what the scripture means... I dunno..
in all my years as a jehovahs witness, when i asked elders and others about luke 20:35-38,either the subject got changed,or they said the light wasn't shined on them yet.i looked through all the watchtower bound volumes and dictionaries, and found very little talk about these scriptures.hum...i wonder why they ignore them?ask the next witness at your door, and you will see what i mean.

our 8-year-old son, jackson, is exhibiting the following symptoms:.
* disorganized (unfortunately, this has kind of been since birth but more pronounced now).
* hard to concentrate.
wrote it down, and then he copied that onto his paper. He didn't appear to be too stressed by that and when he copied the report he added a few words and sentences, which meant he was thinking before he put it on paper. I'm hoping this will get him used to thinking in sentences and eventually being able to think and write at the same time.
So much of what you say is just what I go through with my son. I have learned some very good things at this board:
http://forums.ldonline.org/index.php
There are people on that board who are real experts and can point parents in the right direction. And there are other parents, looking for support. Great board!
After much testing, it boils down to for my son: 1) high IQ 2) slower than average processing speed (he is a great thinker, but it takes him longer) 3) dysgraphia (problems writing his thoughts down) and 3) ADD. (note: no 'H', just ADD)
It is a full plate. He has an IEP, and my first priority is that he learns, and that does not have his joy of learning stamped out. The pressure of school can really get to him, and unfortunatly when he was younger I added to that pressure because I didn't realize the reasons behind his actions. Now I know it really DOES take him a half hour to write a couple of paragraphs. Now I make sure that in his IEP it says he doesn't have more than 2 hours of homework a night, and I hold the school to it. (I know, even that is too much!) I make sure he is learning typing, because that is so much easier for dysgraphic kids. I make sure he does not get put into 'dumbed down' classes. And so on.
It doesn't go away, but I am learning how to help my young man learn how make it in life, even with his 'full plate.'
Take care,
-LisaBOBeesa
Edited to add: You won't know if he is 'just being a normal boy' or 'a normal boy with allergies' or if he has processing issues, or learning dissablities untill you have him tested. If you ask the school to test him, make sure that test everything. It is your right to have all the info you can get.
Don't let them tell you there is no reason to test him for learning dissablilities because he is getting good grades. Sometimes the school wants to wait for the ship to sink before they start bailing.
ok now that i've got your attention :) .
i am currently writing a psych paper, and i decided my topic is going to be jw's and the higher percentage of mental illness in the organization( in not so many words) i have been doing hella research in medical journals, and i would like to pose a request to anyone out there that has information on this subject to pm me or attach it to your response.
i would really appreciate it, and btw, if would be even better if this was from a peer-reviewed journal, because i have already searched all the sites and got the research from freeminds, watchtowerobserver, and sites such as this.
The reason that I am only using JW's in my paper is because I have to basically disect why this religion has hindered my developmental abilities growing up.
Interesting subject! I started thinking about that when I took a developmental psych class.......That class really helped some things fall into place for me.

If he can get into TV or a video game, he probably isn't ADD/ADHD in the classic sense.
I do not agree. In my experience, most ADD children can get into a TV show they like and do very well with video games.
(I work in an alternative school with many, many ADD kids. Also, one of my children is ADD.)
Why is this? Because TV and video games can be paid attention to in a very passive way. You don't have to THINK to watch TV or play video games. In a video game, you may have to think, but only for one instant..then you react and the game is on to the next thing. It is just just a string of VERY short thoughts/reactions that make a person good at a video game. And TV requires no thought.
But to pay your bills? That requires a person to sit down and THINK for an amount of time. Homework requires sitting down and thinking for an amount of time. It reqires attention, in the truest sense. That is what ADD kids have trouble with.

how many of you have come to that point and remember that day.
do you know the exact date.
today!
Do you know the exact date. I do! Today! November 3rd or 4th.
LOL! Are you sure you know the exact date?
i happen to think quite a few intelligent people have cornered the market on certain information.. when you are around other intelligent people you find in talking with them that you are incredibly more well informed about certain subjects than other people are.
in fact, you might know things that nobody else knows anything about.. tell me what it is that you know.. i have some really quirky things i know.
but, what do you know that sets you apart?
I know how to get 18 troubled teenagers to sit down and factor trinomials.
dr. phil is looking to talk to people who feel a family member may be involved with a cult.
check it out if you'd like on his website (drphil.com) under "be on the show".
chakka
Perhaps he would be willing to hide identities for this subject? You know, the old fuzzy spot over the face, etc...The info needs to get out there....
i'm thinking of taking a vacation to hawaii.
i've not researched it yet so i don't know which island to stay on and don't know what there is to see or do besides snorkeling and don ho.
for any who have been, can you share your opinions and perhaps some advice based on your experience in paradise?
I have been to Oahu and I have been to Kauai.
Oahu has lots of city, lots of action. Lots of traffic. But it is still beautiful! I loved it. (And there are less crowed areas on Oahu, don't get me wrong...)
But Kauai.....Kauai is paradise. Small towns, locals, lots of uncrowded beaches....There is one major road that goes around the island and when you come to bridges, they are so narrow, traffic can only go one way so people take turns. Not like that on Oahu! Amazing mountains to hike in, the best snokleling in crystal waters.......snokleing is the most amazing thing to do!! Plus all the fun extras like hilcopter rides, day cruises with wine and cheese :), rafting, scuba, surf lessons, some very fancy resorts and amzing hiking trails.
If you want more glitz and glamor..say you want to go surfing, climb out of the water, walk accoss the beach and buy a Parada purse and then head out for a live show, go to Oahu.
If you want to sit under a palm tree half the day, body surf for a while and then get a bite to eat in a local resaurant in your flip-flops and trunks, go to Kauai.
Man, I want to go there now.
*sigh

(Who can't spell)
what does it take in order for you to feel absolutely loved by your significant other?
do they have to talk to you in a certain tone?.
do they have to touch you in a certain way?.
To be heard.
Really, really, heard and understood.
Thats it. No other special mumbo-jumbo. Just to be heard. That really makes me feel cared for, valued and loved.
