  theres a new film in production called ' losingmyreligion'.

  its being produced by stephan mcguire who is a proper film producer who happens to have been brought up as a jehovahs witness.

  think leonardo dicaprio got something to do with making it too :).

  I'd like to hear from some of you about what I called at the end of my post above, the "legal key." This is an important subject, one, I'm told, that we will all be hearing more about in the months to come.

  But how can it be proven that they demand shunning when everything is printed in doublespeak and code so that it appears that they don't? That is the trick I suppose...Has someone figured it out? Has someone found a way to nail them on this FACT that they deny?

  Will this movie have something to do with it?

  Now that I think about it, I guess the tricky wording is only for family members. There are straight forward directives to shun non-family DF people. Perhaps that is 'the key' that could eventually indirectly help shunned family members...?

  Verifiable Former Bethelite Willing to Answer questions

  i am a former active poster here, former elder, former bethelite and pretty much known by people on the xjw boards since the mid 90's.

  gawd that makes me sound old.. i notice that a great deal of uproar is being made by allegations of a hide in the closet alleged bethelite.

  to counter the damage caused by this claim, i am happy to address any questions people may have about bethel, protocol, etc.. i was at the canada branch for 11 years, worked in multiple areas including the legal department, service desk and writing dept.

  nobody monitors apostate sites, all of these things are untrue. only what you do on bethel's servers is looked at like once a month, and a lot

  of sites are blocked on the network, including this site.

  Do you think this site blocked itself on the bethel servers?

  Call me paranoid, but its possible that this 30 hour initiative is a weeding out process....a cull if you will...

  we've discussed a few potential reasons why the wt is promoting april 2011 as a month of special activity.

  reasons include manipulating statistics, and trying to provide some kind of spark to increasingly apathetic and discouraged congregations.

  i'm sure there are others i'm missing too, feel free to include those.

  If that were their goal, than everything they did would further their goal.

  But that is not what we see.

  The org is very bad at recruiting (and keeping, for that matter) new members.

  What the org is very good at is making sure that all JWs the world over follow orders perfectly (or as they would say 'remain united').

  That is their goal. That is their main focus and all they really care about. They publish rule book after rule book so that every JW the world over knows how to behave in any conceivable situation. That is what the GB do.

  Numbers may suffer, but lock-step conformity may not!

  i'm 75 years old and am confused about life and god.

  all explainations seem made up by some religious person or some written book that doesn't make any sense to me.

  why doesn't a god just let us know that he exist in some way that all people could understand.

  Jehovah's Witness position:

  You continue to share considerable DNA with JW family members after being disfellowshipped ('Disfellowshipping doesn't sever blood ties').

  Your JW family will cut off all contact with you ('quit mixing with them') if you are disfellowshipped.

  Although you will be cut off from all contact with your family and they will treat you as though you don't exist, indeed as though you have died, you will not be 'shunned.'

  So, not to worry.

  No 'shunning.'

  Just completely cut off from all contact.

  And that will only happen IF your JWs family's conscience demands it. And it will. Because they are brainwashed to behave this way.

  (And if for some reason they don't shun you cut off all contact with you, they will be punished in the congregation.)
