my question is how do you feel about halloween.
i grew up as jw and never celebrated anything.
This is a holiday that the entire world acknowledges as being of the devil and associated with evil.
I have never, ever met a person who actually was a devil worshiper or something and celebrated Halloween in some evil way. Never.
I have never met a non-JW (or maybe exjw) who believed it was 'of the devil' or 'associated with evil.'
People are just dressing up in costumes for the day, eating candy and having fun. For fun. That?s all. Just fun. There is no evil to it. It is just a holiday that turns social conventions on their heads. Many cultures have them. They are for fun.
For the most part, the only people who think it is evil are strict fundamentalist Christians and JWs. To the whole rest of our culture, the only thing evil about it is the unwanted weight gain that comes from eating all your kid?s candy for a month afterward!

I love Halloween. My children have the greatest time on that holiday! I have never, ever in my entire life ever seen a child or adult become possessed by wicked spirits for ANY REASON, and certainly never because they celebrated Halloween .
for those of you who are inclined toward sadomasochism, you might enjoy watching a very very very long video about this year?s district convention.
it is video of the setup, the baptism (more victims), the infamous drama with the demonized kid and many short interviews with jws at the convention.. one interview that stood out to me was of a teen who commented on how "nice" the small district convention is... she totally failed to connect the dots that the convention is small due to falling attendance and budget cuts.. something that stood out to me was the glaring absence of any talks.
maybe they know that the general public would find what is said to be very "cult like".. .
What was with that lady talking to the kids!?
lady: "So little three year old, what did you think of the part in the drama with the DEMON??!! SCARY, hu? Good thing Jehovah will protect us!"
later,,,,,
lady: "So little cute 7 year old girl, what did you think of the girl with the DEMON inside her? Strange noise, hu?"
little cute girl in scared voice: "How did the demon get inside her?"
lady: "Oh Satan can do those things to people.".......... Long pause........."But Jehovah can protect us."
lady to another kid: "So little five year old boy, what did you think of the demon? Made a scary noise, hu? ........
boy: "Yeah."
Lady: "And how about your four year old friend, Brandon. How are you enjoying the assembly so far?
Brandon: "good. I like it."
Lady: "And what did YOU think of the demon??"
