On a cell phone it is really easy to tell someone "I miss you" ..and that might *gasp!* 'stir up emotions!'
Oh no's! Not "I miss you"! Not emotions!!
here's a few guesses.... the brooklyn waterfront is a convenient place for the society to make their videosgrowing up as a jw when your friends have cellphones and you don't is "kind of rough" and a "kind of sad story"suddenly it's ok for jw youths to "go out" with worldly friends?
?you should listen to what your "peers" say, so long as they're jws on a society video.
anything else is peer pressure.playing by yourself with a frisbee is the preferred sport for young people (no teams or competition involved)young jws don't have a clue how to communicate with the opposite sex via text messages"it's really up to you how you choose to communicate with this wonderful tool that you have"... even though it clearly isn't.the society's video-making department are already running out of ideashttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=se_iuspg_14.

i found it a very interesting read.
the article was linked on one of my fav websites digg.
Great article...I hope more people read it!
I noticed that this writer, like the writer of the Gawker article, used the word "zombies" to describe the Witnesses.
i have been hearing and reading on websites about some "new light" jws are saying concerning the faithful and discreet slave class.
it sounds like the same information they have been saying for years.
i was always taught the faithful and discreet slave class is the annoited governing body members dispensing food at the proper time for the non annoited jws.
Well, back when I was being raised a Dub, the Faithful and Discreet Slave Class was the 144,000.
i know this is an odd idea.
maybe it is even silly.. but, i do daydream..... .
what if you were informed that you are disfellowshipped and you flashed a huge smile and said, "nah.".
Hmm. I guess that at the next meeting a couple of heavyweight doorkeepers would prevent you entering the Hall.
I agree. The elders would say that if you don't agree to go along with the rules, you are not welcome in the Hall, and that as soon as you are willing to go along with the rules, you would be allowed back in the Hall to shunned (but only if you're good!).
we had our special assembly day this weekend.. what the district overseer stated in his talk totally stunned me, and made me feel sick to my stomach.
he said, "christ is directing us through the governing body, and we cannot get holy spirit except through them!".
i do not wish to reveal all my thoughts on his statement, but i pray to god that it acts as a wake-up call to at least some of the audience.. suffice to say that the gb is now the mediator to our mediator, and from now on, i will have to pray for holy spirit through the name of the gb!!.
I don't understand's people objection to the teaching of Jesus being the mediator for the anointed only.
The Bible says NO ONE comes to the Father except through Jesus, that there is no other way to God.
So I would say that the Bible objects to the teaching that Jesus is NOT the mediator of 99% of the world.
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to."
personally i hate it when you come face to face with someone disfellowshiped and you can't do a simple acknowledgement or greeting.
they are obviously making an effort to be there to be reinstated.
as i recall back in the 1970's they did allow this but what is always the case some took advantage of this provision and in engaged in full blown conversations.
how do you differentiate between someone [especially a young one] who made a mistake[s] and someone who is deceitful and rotten to the core?
I don't think being 'rotten to the core' is a DF-ing offence, actually.
A 'rotten to the core' person can be in perfectly good standing, sitting up front at the hall.
And the most Christain person in the hall could be DF-ed.
im on my phone, so im really limited.
i came out to my family about my doubts and my sexuality.
shit hit the fan.
A long fade would have been pretty difficult and very stressful... Congratulations on being free and never having to hide who you are or what you believe again!

- My dad is stepping down as an elder, and it's my fault. "He's not talking care of home".
I've been made to feel like their disaster is my fault.
YOUR disaster is THEIR fault and their own disaster is also THEIR FAULT. THEY picked this hateful judegmental cult and the cult is messing up their lives (AND yours).
I'm really sorry this has happened to you. ...don't take on any guilt on top of it all.... You know you have done nothing wrong. You have done nothing wrong. You told the TRUTH. They are the ones who should own all the guilt. They won't own their guilt, but don't let them push it off on to you.
i was 8 when my mom brought us into the jw's.
i am in my late 30's now.
many knew me from school.
Congratulations!
yearbook 2013 :letter from the governing body.
dear brothers and sisters :our heavenly father, jehovah, is the personification of love.hence the bible states :"god is love".
(1 john 4:8) even though jehovah is almighty ,his word never says ,"god is power" or , "god is might".he bases his rule primarily on love.how this attracts us to him!.
Is this real? It seems like it mentions 'love' too much to be real.
Weird. Since when is 'love' supposed to be a JW's motivation for staying a JW? I thought JWs were only motivated by 'loyalty' and the 'earthly hope.'
They musta got a new writer...
