  the insight book volume 1 page 788 uses matthew 5:22 and acts 10:28 as biblical support for dfing and shunning.. thoughts?

  hopefully someone upload the insight book page here.

  i don't have the means.. i should have said that basically the top paragraph in the insight book is supporting shunning because the israelites shunned the man of the nations and tax collectors?

  Those were my observations about the scripture too. I should have quoted them here. Thanks for doing it.

  Dubs will say that Jesus account of forgiveness does not apply to disfellowshipped ones. At least my father said that. But the FDS used part of the scripture to support dfing and shunning.

  Is there any wt pubs where I can point to this? Where they say or imply Jesus talking about forgiving your brother doesn't apply to dfing? They are certainly trying to use it here in the insight book.

  richard ashe a full-time special servant of the order of jehovah's witnesses testified in the lopez case that every single disfellowshipping and disassociation and other things have all been scanned in 2011 and are and will be on permanent record with jw's forever.

  is this legal?

  another completely ironic and warped thing is the disfellowshipping form is called the s77 form.

  The beginning of the end for shunning?

  the borg seem to prepare for changes by missing explanations out for a while then presenting a "new understanding" which doesn't contradict the most recent discussion.check out the most recent references to gog - no identification as satan.. in today's wt study, paragraph 15 concerning benefitting from the prodigal son stated "if we meet a person who has strayed from the congregation, will we offer loving and practical help to assist him to return?

  " there is no footnote or other qualifier saying not to go to disfellowshipped ones (who are definitely the ones being talked about) which is still the official policy.

  i know this isn't an ending to shunning, but it may signal the start of the preparation for a change.

  Sometimes I do think for their own long term survival they'll have to end shunning at least lighten up some. But will that even be enough? What about the No Blood policy?
  And with all the corruption they are guilty of and information becoming easier and easier to obtain who will remain? People like my family I guess.

  i live in relatively small seaside community (regional population around 45,000).

  in my ten years here, i've had witnesses call on me perhaps twice (not special visits but during door-to-door).

  whereas they once canvassed door-to-door much more frequently - and in larger size service groups - there is quite a decline in their door-knocking - at least in this region.. with the advent of the "trolley" work, their visibility has increased - but i'd estimate only marginally.

  I see this behavior quite a bit as well. They sit outside a local KH located on a busy street and talk to each other. I visit the shopping center right across the street from them and sometimes I sit there for a few minutes watching them. Plenty of people walk by and often they are too engaged in their own conversations to even say hello. I doubt this behavior is encouraged or expected from the GB. But many dubs are probably relieved to not be bothering people at their homes. And more concerned with their own little jdub lives that it is easy to sit there and chat about all the exciting new changes coming their way.

  I will say judging from the outside this is one KH that could probably use a renovation or new location. It really is a very busy street and a little kid could easily run off into the street. This happened years ago when i was a small child. Our KH was on a very busy street and a little boy ran out from the KH and was killed on the night of the memorial. I believe the guy was a study. Very sad. I will never forget it.
